A new study found that while Americans are streaming television now more than ever, one in three of them say they are ready to drop Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime because they find their original programs to be subpar.
A survey of 2,000 Americans, conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Tubi, found that 70 percent of Americans say they’re watching more TV now than at the start of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, according to a report by Study Finds.
The report added that one in three Americans, however, admitted to watching whatever was trending — not because the content was good, but because there was nothing else to do.

The corporations, producers, writers, and actors are woke and unlikeable. They have made their productions so diverse that they appeal to nobody. I don't even understand their dialogues, if there is one. Jose Wales was the last movie I could follow, and should be the model, short terse sentences. Thank you for taking it all back for a do over.

I've logged on to Netflix several times over the past year, looked through it all, and logged off. Same with Redbox. After a year or so with nothing interesting to rent, I finally tried a Russel Crowe movie. Shut it off halfway through, as it was too dumb to watch. Have as little to do with Amazon as possible. The Woke have no imagination, no sense of humor, and are ignorant of history. All they are capable of is to lecture us about their moral superiority. No thanks. I can entertain myself and save my money.

HULU programming is really crummy. The sports offered are soccer, Australian rules football and bowling. Baseball, nope, or very little. Basketball, nope, or very little except March madness (zzzzzzz). Mostly I watch YouTube or British television which is a lot better than American TV. Oh, I like Black people, but having them 'star' or appear in 18 consecutive commercials one evening is a bit much. A Black friend said such over exposure was embarassing to her.

I don't have Netflix but if I did, I would drop it immediately. Why enrich the putz Obamy?

Bosch, on Prime. Excellent series (at least the first season, so far). Best value for the money? Roku: Route 66, Petticoat Junction, Naked City, Magnum PI, Quantum Leap - all the good TV from back then.

Didn’t Barack and Shelly make millions off something to do with Netflix? Don’t have it. Never used it. Never will. We watch Tucker and Blue Bloods here. That’s about it. Used to love Hallmark channels, but now that they’re “woke”, dont even go there anymore.

I had Netflix but dropped it once they signed. on the Obama's. Haven't missed a thing. Am thinking about dropping Cable TV all together. I get more news on my computer than on any news program. They show the same movies over and over again. Liked The Shawshank Redemption when it first came out but am not going to watch it ever again. They are still showing it month after month. The Reality shows are fake and the women who star in them are really fake. They look like clowns and act like idiots. Who needs that!!! I have never seen the Kardashions who are famous for their boobs and butts. No talent but they have made millions. TV trash is not worth the money.

There are a few series on Amazon I watch over and over. Read my books repeatedly also. There’s an Indian show on Amazon called Patel Lok I’ve watched twice, I have to, to get the full story, what With all the subtitles. It’s a really good story. I especially like when the cops take the crooks to a back room and kick the crap out of them. Makes my heart swell with delight!

Boy have you struck a nerve! Re: Amazon Prime, for which I pay a prime amount of $, almost every series or film we like the looks of (and we are mystery lovers, especially GOOD foreign ones) either must be purchased outright or we can "subscribe" to Acorn or whatever "free" for seven days (after giving them all of our financial and other info) and binge like idiots. The Jesse Stone series with Tom Selleck is another good example...I think we got one "free" via Prime and after that we had to "rent" for $3.99 or the like. As to Netflix, for every one excellent mystery (there is a series set in Iceland that is wonderful, for example) there are 12 beyond lame, obviously ground out to bolster the Netflix on offer numbers. Getting really old.

What do you mean, "ready"? I dumped Netflix years ago, and never once used the others.

Trapped in my home, I've watched way more TV than I would have liked. Of course, there's a lot of crap out there. That just means I turn it off after ten minutes or so. There are nice alternatives like Curiosity, but even that has quite a few woke documentaries. So just ask yourself, "Am I wasting money or time on this?"

I agree with most of the comments here...but you're going a tad too far when you say Kim Kardashian's butt has no talent. Let's see YOUR butt try to balance a full champagne glass standing up. That there is a seriously talented butt.

I took advantage of the free trial by registering and it took me two days to quit. There was nothing to view but silly garbage and kiddy cartoon shows. I'm back to TCM the best for me to watch.

My choice is audio books, lots of choices and no eye strain, and listen while driving or walking, etc. They are free at our local library and no commercials.

American TV is just as lame and subpar as the Internet offerings. They have all dropped anything that suggests Americans might be conservative and keep pushing the stupid and liberal stuff, which is devoid of any originality or humor. "Big Bang Theory" still provides good reruns even though they sometimes stray left but the superb comedy and unique actors still hold an audience. "Last Man Standing" is outstanding and refuses to cave to the woke crowd. Good on them. The primary job of my TV these days is to gather dust.

We still have Netflix and on occasion something good comes on. My gripe is with Dish. They have a large library of movies, but uncut versions you may or may not have to rent. I already pay Dish for their service, so why should I have to pay for 20+ year old movie? For that matter, why should I pay for any uncut movie greater than a few years old?

I thought about getting one or more of these services, then I decided that trying to watch more anti white male woke BS stories wasn't worth my time or money. So I watch programs about aliens, and How the Universe Works. They're more entertaining and true to life.

We don't have cable but local free TV in our area has plenty of stations that play reruns of shows we liked from the past, such as 'Magnum', and ones we missed the first time around, 'Rizzoli and Isles', 'Blue Bloods'. We also watch shows via Acorn and BritBox, wide variety of shows from UK, Australia, NZ and a handful of Scandinavian shows.

I figured it out the week I had decided to try out Netflix. That same week they hired The Zero for a bunch of $$, and I cancelled my plans to become a member.
Never missed it at all.

No, it's because they're woke. And because they're woke, their programming is lousy. Facts!
