Biden calls Netanyahu, says Israel

President Biden on Wednesday spoke with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reaffirm US support for Israel after a night of bloodshed with civilians in Tel Aviv sheltering from Hamas rockets. “I had a conversation with Bibi Netanyahu not so long ago. I’ll be putting out a statement very shortly on that,” Biden told reporters at the White House. “My expectation and hope is that this will be closing down sooner than later. But Israel has a right to defend itself against thousands of rockets flying into your territory.”

Comments:

Thank God Biden gave his OK for Israel to defend itself. I'm sure Netanyahu was waiting for that call.

"...not so long ago.." I'll bet he doesn't remember when it happened and may not remember having the conversation. He should say, "I'm told..." at the beginning of every statement. Did Biden even know who he was talking to on the phone?

This is why they don't want him talking without a script to read from. The script said, "Kill the Jews! We support our PLO terrorist friends!"

President Trump would have been on the phone 5 minutes after the first missiles flew. He would have promised Israel our complete and full support. Then he would have immediately followed with a call to the Arab leaders telling them to get their palestinian dogs under control or feel the wrath of our full military might!!! Not-my-president Lyin' Joe biden waits how many days (until I'm sure the polling numbers came out showing how incompetent the strong majority of Americans found him in this situation) to make a call which really said nothing!!!! Elections have consequences -- especially stolen ones!!!!!

This particular statement is one of those boilerplate, tried and true statements both sides of the aisle use to get a cheap applause line. I never have liked it because its so obvious. Senator Tom Cotton said exact same thing for his big Fb statement as rockets were flying into Israel. Whoop-de-doo. Today, Biden administration was merely trying to soften their first statement of four days ago that “..both sides need to show restraint..” Accorded to Rani Levy, a former advisor to the late Ariel Sharon, that response greatly angered Bibi and his team. Rightly so!!

It’s a sad commentary on the gun violence plaguing the Big Apple. One of the diners who was shot outside the famed Peter Luger Steakhouse in Brooklyn was recovering Friday at home — where he told a neighbor, “You go out to dinner and that’s what happens.” The 57-year-old victim, who was hit in the gut, described the terrifying incident after being treated for his injuries at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in Manhattan. “He told me there was a family dispute and they started shooting,” the neighbor said. “He said he didn’t have a chance to run.”

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has delivered the final blow to the COVID lockdown regime. The new study on the so-called six-feet apart rule was blown up. The indoor occupancy caps were also trashed. What about those insanely expensive air filtration units that teachers want to be installed before they venture out of their caves and start working again? Not necessary. Open windows, fans blowing, and a good circulation of fresh air is good enough. It doesn’t matter if you’re 60 feet away or 6 feet away from someone inside, you’re still at risk of contracting the virus, even with a mask on.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is unsure why Texas and Florida continues to defy the settled “science” on COVID-19. Since the states did away with the mask mandates and authorized all businesses to re-open, there has not been a disproportionate surge in COVID cases, hospitalizations, or deaths. Dr. Fauci was asked why Texas hasn’t seen the often predicted surge on MSNBC this week. “I’m not really quite sure,” he said. “It could be they’re doing things outdoors.” Fauci added in his MSNBC interview that it may take weeks to see any effects from re-opening the state on the number of COVID cases.

Last month, the faculty senate at Pennsylvania State University passed a resolution urging the school to erase certain words from its lexicon, due to the supposedly problematic legacy of the “typically male-centered world” out of which the terms grew. The resolution aims at gendered pronouns such as “he/him/his” and “she/her/hers,” but it also demonizes the four iconic terms for a person’s years in college (and, often, high school): “freshman,” “sophomore,” “junior,” and “senior.” “The University, as with most all academic institutions world-wide, has grown out of a typically male-centered world.
