President Biden promised to help Palestinians who lost their homes during 11 days of Israeli strikes on Gaza as he offered prayers Friday for a ceasefire to hold. During a press conference to mark the visit of South Korean President Moon Jae-in, he insisted he remained committed to Israeli security. But he struck a careful balance between both sides as he announced plans to help Palestinians in Gaza rebuild their lives so long as Hamas militants, who rained rockets on Israel, were not able to rebuild their armaments. 'I am prepared to put together, and am going to attempt to put together, a major package

A critical race studies and ethnic studies professor at the University of Colorado-Boulder says Americans wondering why Black citizens commit anti-Asian hate crimes have an answer: “White supremacy.” The educational watchdog Campus Reform spotlighted the commentary of Jennifer Ho, which preceded President Biden’s newly signed legislation aimed at combatting hate crimes against Asian Americans. “Anti-Asian racism has the same source as anti-Black racism: White supremacy,” Ms. Ho wrote for The Conversation. “So when a Black person attacks an Asian person, the encounter is fueled perhaps by racism, but very specifically by White supremacy. White supremacy does not require a White person to perpetuate it.”

Ready for a shot of love? The White House says roll up your sleeves.
As part of President Biden’s goal of vaccinating 70 percent of American adults with at least one shot by July 4th, the White House announced a partnership with some of the largest dating apps in the country Friday.
The apps—which include Tinder, Hinge, Match, OkCupid, BLK, Chispa, Plenty of Fish, Bumble and Badoo—will launch new features to encourage hesitant singles to get inoculated. Some of the features will include badges on profiles showing an individual’s vaccination status, access to free premium content like boosts, super likes and super swipes

Transgender advocates are calling Tennessee “the state of hate” in response to a series of new laws aimed at protecting biological women. LGBTQ activists see the laws as discriminatory to transgenders and say the Republican-run state is increasingly hostile to transgender rights. They’re also threatening legal action. “Tennessee has gone well above board to go after trans folks,” said Sasha Buchert, an attorney for Lambda Legal, a pro-LGBTQ legal group. “This isn’t about policy, it’s about prejudice.” Since March, there have been at least four new laws implemented in the Volunteer State that involve the rights of transgender individuals and biological women.

President Joe Biden said it was a stinging comment from Irish prime minister Micheál Martin that got him seriously concerned that the U.S. was losing its top perch in the world to China. 'The most devastating comment made after I was elected—it wasn't so much about it—but it was by the Irish taoiseach saying that "Well, America can't lead. They can't even get their arms around COVID,' Biden said in a new interview with The New York Times' David Brooks.
(Snip) The columnist was trying to wrap his head around Biden's worldview, trying to figure out why Biden is trying to go so big.

Chilling surveillance footage obtained by Fox News shows the moment a Jewish man in Los Angeles was chased by two cars bearing Palestinian flags near his home earlier this week as they chanted "Allahu akbar" in an apparent attempt to run him over. A first of its kind, LEGO is releasing their first ever LGBTQ-themed set titled, ‘Everyone is Awesome.’ The 346-piece set, which will be released at the beginning of June for Pride Month, contains 11 figures, each with an assigned rainbow color. “I wanted to create a model that symbolizes inclusivity and celebrates everyone, no matter how they identify or who they love,” the set’s designer, Matthew Ashton, said in a statement Thursday.
Ashton said the set was also a celebration of the LGBTQ community within Lego and among the company’s adult fans. “I am fortunate to be a part of a proud, supportive and passionate

Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday spoke to Jordanian King Abdullah II on behalf of President Biden to brief him on US efforts to support a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict. Biden has not spoken with the Arab nation’s leader since Hamas began firing rockets last week from Gaza into Israel following clashes in Jerusalem. “I spoke with Jordan King Abdullah II to reaffirm our support and express our commitment to continued close cooperation,” Harris wrote on Twitter. “I briefed him on our intensive diplomatic efforts to support the path to a ceasefire in Gaza. The U.S. and Jordan will continue working to deescalate tensions.”

A 38-year-old homeless man has been busted for the vicious Hell’s Kitchen hate crime in which a chunk of the victim’s finger was bitten off, police said Thursday. Lloyd Revell was picked up early Thursday at the Skyline Hotel on 10th Ave. where homeless have been staying during the pandemic.
The victim, Youya Hua, 48, was walking along W. 43rd St. Tuesday morning, cup of coffee in hand, when he was attacked, said one of his sons. Hua was punched in the face, the son said, and a small chunk was torn from his middle finger when the suspect bit him. “Go back to your country,”
Comments:
Police are on the lookout for a man. I might have seen him, who knows. Could be the same person who punched a subway worker in the face on the same platform 2 hours before. Cameras are everywhere, images are kept under wraps because the Rotten Apple is safe, especially the subway.
