A pair of North Carolina Republicans are introducing a bill on Wednesday to prevent federal funding from going to a recent Department of Education proposal or any other proposal aimed at teaching critical race theory in schools. Freshman Rep. Madison Cawthorn, R-N.C., and House Education and Labor Committee ranking member Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., are planning to introduce the Protecting Equality and Civics Education (PEACE) Act on Wednesday, Fox News has learned. The PEACE Act amends the Consolidated Appropriations Act to prohibit federal funds from going to programs that push for critical race theory in schools.

"Wonder Woman" actress Gal Gadot's attempt to post a unifying message on Twitter amidst the ongoing violence in the Middle East backfired as critics instead assailed the actress for her experience fighting in the Israeli Defense Forces when she was younger and accused her of being a "propaganda" tool for the Israeli military. The Palestinian militant group Hamas launched rockets into Israel this week, targeting Jerusalem, southern Israel, and Tel Aviv. Israel responded by launching a series of airstrikes, killing a top Hamas commander and several other senior Hamas militants.

Israel has been using its Iron Dome missile defense system for a decade — but never so much as in the past few days. DW takes a look at how it works. Videos showing the effectiveness of Israel's Iron Dome missile defense system against rockets from Gaza have been posted and watched hundreds of thousands of times on the internet. They show dozens of glowing bullets whirring through the air against the black night sky and lighting up brightly against a backdrop of sirens and explosions. An Iron Dome battery consists of a radar unit and a control center that can detect projectiles soon after their launch

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, fired back at far-left host Joy Reid's latest racially charged attack, wondering Wednesday why MSNBC allowed her to get away with it and saying her "condescension" was leading Hispanics to leave the Democrats. Reid assailed Cruz and compared him to Stephen, the traitorous house slave in the 2012 movie "Django Unchained," for opposing the Democratic voting overhaul known as the For The People Act. Cruz, mirroring language by President Biden about Georgia's Republican voting law, angered Democrats after he called it "Jim Crow 2.0." "I appreciate MSNBC lecturing me on how people of 'my race' are supposed to vote. This arrogant condescension

House Republicans voted early Wednesday to remove GOP Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney from her place in the party leadership. The vote marks the final development in Cheney's estrangement from her GOP colleagues. The conflict began on Jan. 13, when Cheney, along with nine other House Republicans, voted to impeach President Donald Trump on a charge of inciting the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. (In 2019, in the first Trump impeachment, Cheney voted no on both articles against the president.) Cheney's attention-getting posture in January — she put out a press release announcing her intention the day before, irritating some Republicans — prompted complaints

Memo to President Biden: Life moves pretty fast, and now the world is on fire. Israel is erupting, Americans are utterly confused when masks should be worn for COVID-19 protection and then there are the agita-inducing long lines for gasoline. And that was just Tuesday. A lot has changed in a matter of days.   Friday was supposed to be a glorious day for Biden. The latest employment numbers were set to be released, and economists were gushing that a million new jobs had likely been created in April by exuberant employers and their newly vaccinated workers. His team no doubt was prepared to unleash Biden  CORRECTION*

The head of the Vatican’s doctrine office is warning U.S. bishops to deliberate carefully and minimize divisions before proceeding with a possible plan to rebuke Roman Catholic politicians such as President Joe Biden for receiving Communion even though they support abortion rights. The strong words of caution came in a letter from Cardinal Luis Ladaria, prefect of the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, addressed to Archbishop José Gomez of Los Angeles, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. The USCCB will convene for a national meeting June 16, with plans to vote on drafting a document on the Communion issue.

A stunning New York Times report claims that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's estimate that the risk of coronavirus transmission while outdoors is around 10% is greatly exaggerated. The CDC has cited the estimate to back up its recommendation that vaccinated individuals do away with masks in certain outdoor situations, but should keep wearing masks during others. According to the Times, the 10% benchmark is based "partly on a misclassification" of some virus transmission in Singapore at various construction sites that may have actually taken place in indoor settings.

Left-wing cable news network MSNBC came under fire Thursday following a perplexing segment on Joy Reid's show centered around "poop" jokes and attacking Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y. Reid, the left-wing host well known for criticizing Republicans, was seemingly amused when former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele, now a political analyst for MSNBC, resorted to using defecation references to attack Stefanik, the Republican Party, and former President Donald Trump. The segment began with Reid going on a profanity laced rant against Stefanik, calling her statements on election fraud in the 2020 election "bulls**t,"

A Texas Democrat who has been critical of Biden administration policies at the U.S.-Mexico border lashed out this week, accusing the administration of posting misleading photos from a migrant processing facility. U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar accused the Department of Homeland Security of trying to create the impression the facility in Donna, Texas, was emptying out, when in fact the migrant youths who had been located there were simply moved to a nearby location. "All they’re doing is, they’re moving kids from one tent to the other tent and saying, ‘Oh, they’re not in the Border Patrol (custody),’" Cuellar said, according to Border Report.

The name’s Klain — President Klain. Washington insiders delight in assigning the White House chief of staff this mischievous title as the driving force behind the actual president, Joe Biden. The man himself, Ron Klain, would never describe himself this way, but his firm grip on the levers of government has enabled the 78-year-old president to cruise through his first 100 days in office without breaking sweat. Everybody who is anybody in Washington knows Klain, although few people outside the Beltway — the ring road surrounding the capital — have heard of him. He is a powerful, confident operator who knows the business of government inside out.

House Republicans planted themselves firmly in the camp of Donald Trump on Wednesday when they removed Rep. Liz Cheney from their leadership team after her criticism of the former president. In a closed-door meeting in the basement of the Capitol, Republicans voted to oust Cheney after she repeatedly called out Trump's false claims he won the election and criticized his role in the January 6 insurrection. After a voice vote, Cheney said: ‘I will do everything I can to ensure that the former president never again, is anywhere near the Oval Office.’ Cheney had addressed Republicans in the room before the vote.

It was said during our Mideast military adventures, and has been considered a truism of war, that you can’t really win a conflict without “boots on the ground.” For it’s difficult to completely subdue a people from afar. It may not be too different with battles for civilization. (snip) If you heard about a Third World country in which the leadership was purging the military of political opponents, would you assume it was just an exercise in ideological nepotism? (snip) So you need a purge. You do this by conjuring up a boogeyman — in our case “white supremacy”

You have to love liberal media. President Donald Trump is no longer in office, but he’s still living rent free in their heads. They’re still completely obsessed with him and basically can’t live without him. They always need him as a focal point. The New York Times ran this “gotcha” story today, as though it were something truly significant, “Over 100 Republicans, including former officials, threaten to split from G.O.P.” What is the issue, the New York Times says? The fact that the GOP still is supportive of Trump. “This is a first step,” said Miles Taylor,
