The number of migrant children being held in federal facilities has more than doubled in the last two months, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday. The more than 21,000 migrant children are being held in a network of roughly 200 facilities across two dozen states, according to confidential government data obtained by the AP. Several of the facilities, which are run by the Department of Health and Human Services, currently house more than 1,000 children. The children range in age from toddlers to teenagers. HHS spokesman Mark Weber said the department is working to keep children safe and healthy.

And where are the illegal immigrants that used these children to gain access to the US? And where are the real parents and don't they care where their children are?

We have not seen anything yet. The human trafficking business going great and they see no serious opposition. Even just inside the US borders the cartels are operating jnhindered. Ask anyone in downtown McAllen or Donna, Texas.

Israel had a relatively quiet night on Wednesday without rocket sirens since about 1 am until Thursday morning. The quiet came as Israel and Hamas are said to be close to a possible ceasefire that could go into effect as soon as Thursday evening or Friday night. A senior Hamas official told CNN on Wednesday night that he expects a ceasefire agreement to be reached within the next couple of days, Israeli media reported. "I think ceasefire mediation will work,” deputy head of the Hamas political branch Mousa Mohammed Abu Marzook said. “The equation was clear

The vote in the House over whether to create a “January 6th Commission” has ended. The bill passed, which is expected given who runs the chamber. What wasn’t as expected (or perhaps it was?) is that 35 Republicans joined hands with their Democrat colleagues, agreeing to walk headlong into a partisan buzzsaw. This per The Daily Caller. The House of Representatives passed a bill Wednesday that would create a bipartisan, 9/11-style commission into the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, with dozens of Republicans joining Democrats in a rebuke of GOP leadership. The bill passed 252 to 175 with support from 35 Republicans, even though top GOP leaders opposed it and

The iconic American suburban neighborhoods that attract families looking for safe and prosperous areas have been targeted in recent years – first from those who believe zoning is a racist tactic to keep certain people out of the neighborhoods. And now a report from the left-leaning Brooking Institute is claiming that the “unsustainable” nature of the suburbs means they must be transformed in the name of preventing climate change. The Brooking Institute report touts President Joe Biden’s “ambitious and necessary” goal to reduce greenhouse gas emission to 50 percent of the amount emitted in 2005 by 2030, with even bigger reductions by 2050. Democrats were trying to push through the vote on a “Jan. 6 Commission” today in the House. They succeeded, with 35 Republicans crossing over to vote in favor of it, not seeming to care that it’s going to be a “bash Republicans” effort, rather than any sort of real investigation. There are already multiple investigations going on, so there wasn’t any need for an additional. This is simply an opportunity for Democrats to bash Republicans. How do we know how biased this will be? Because we can already see how slimy Democrats are being about it. Right before the vote on the Commission,

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Wednesday signed the “heartbeat” bill into law, banning abortion in the state once a fetal heartbeat can be detected. “Pro-Lifers across Texas rejoiced as the governor signed the life-saving bill into law in the Texas Capitol in Austin,” celebrated Texas Right to Life, observing the legislation is the first of its “pro-life priority” bills to have passed both the state House and Senate this session and to have been signed into law by the governor. The state Senate approved the bill, 18-12, following its passage in the state House, 83-64. Other states have passed “heartbeat” bills and, once signed, abortion rights activists filed lawsuits challenging

A federal criminal investigation into New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) is reportedly expanding to examine priority COVID-19 testing for his family and associates, according to multiple reports. The New York Times reported that investigators in the U.S. attorney's office for the Eastern District of New York are looking into whether the governor's administration had a priority testing program that benefited his close family members and associates early in the pandemic. Among those who were believed to have benefited were the governor's brother, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, and the father of Melissa DeRosa, the governor's most senior aide.

Steven Hayward at Power Line has a prescient observation about the unflattering expose of Kamala Harris that ran in The Atlantic two days ago: ...perhaps the most revealing tidbit in the whole article, though it may not be evident to the casual reader: Harris has been an elected official for 18 years straight, but she has only a few senior aides on staff who have worked for her for more than a few months. Turf battles have been a recurring feature of Harris offices over the years, but her newest circle believes it is finally getting her on track after years of past staffers not serving her well.
Labor Shortage Caused by Government 4 replies

America has a record 8.1 million job openings. The media call it a “labor shortage.” But it’s not a labor shortage; it’s an incentive shortage. “No one wants to work,” says a sign on a restaurant drive-thru speaker in Albuquerque, New Mexico. “Please be patient with the staff that did show up.” I never wanted to work. I got a job because I had to support myself. That was good for me. It forced me out of my comfort zone. It made me a better person. Had government offered me almost equal money not to work, I never would have applied. Today, government takes away that incentive.

According to Axios, the two sources were a part of the Republicans’ closed-door caucus lunch Tuesday where the minority leader told his Senate colleagues. McConnell, according to Axios’s sources, said something like: “There’s 41 of us who could change this, and I think we should.” After McConnell finished speaking, Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) reportedly also stood up and questioned parts of the deal, according to the report.

A new study of COVID-19 vaccine recipients globally should give the public health community a reason to pause on their messaging that everyone needs to be vaccinated regardless of prior infection with the virus. The researchers surveyed slightly more than 2,000 vaccinated individuals who were at least seven days past their first vaccine dose and monitored their reports of side effects and their severity through the vaccination process. They compared the results for recovered patients with a confirmed COVID-19 PCR or antigen test with those who had not had COVID-19. From the study (emphasis mine): People with prior COVID-19 exposure were largely excluded from the vaccine trials

Biden yields to Putin on Nord Stream 2 pipeline 12 replies

Axios reports that the Biden administration will waive sanctions on the corporate entity and CEO overseeing the construction of Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline into Germany. This means, in all likelihood, that the pipeline will become operational. That’s a huge win for Vladimir Putin. Why? For one thing, as Axios says, Russian gas currently has to pass through Ukraine on its way to Europe. Bypassing Ukraine with a direct pipeline to Germany is an opportunity for Russia to advance its goal of isolating its former client state, now a fledgling democracy, from Western Europe. In addition, the pipeline increases Russian leverage over the rest of Europe.

Thomas Lifson caught the fact that Biden made a joke that would have sent journalists screaming to their psychiatrists had President Trump made it: When they asked about Israel, he said he’d run them over. What someone noticed later is that, in addition to threatening violence to journalists who made him uncomfortable, Biden may have been faking that he was driving. Sharp-eyed observers noted that his steering wheel didn’t control the tires and believe that someone else was driving the car. (snip) In fact, if you watch slo-mo footage of the event, it appears very much as if Biden has a dummy steering wheel.
