President Joe Biden on Monday said that anyone taking unemployment who gets offered a 'suitable job' must take it or lose their benefits after experts revealed that people making $32,000 before COVID could now earn more by staying at home.'We're going to make it clear that anyone collecting unemployment, who is offered a suitable job must take the job or lose their unemployment benefits,' the president said in remarks at the White House. 'There are a few COVID-19 related exceptions, so that people aren't forced to choose between their basic safety and a paycheck, but otherwise, that's the law,' he added. A condition that is impossible to monitor or enforce, in other words, typical feckless policy by Democrats. Take away the benefits first, or cut them in half, and then see the result.

Joe Biden is running everything. And there is so much to run that fires are breaking out everywhere. Everywhere is an emergency requiring Joe Biden to awaken. This should save the country a lot. No need for education, or two hands. Joe Biden is doing it all.

Dementia Jo's handlers, in coming up with the rules, created an out for anyone collecting unemployment compensation, and refused to take a job. If the reason for the refusal was a fear of Covid, the person could remain on unemployment compensation. I believe that rule is still in effect. If the government really wants to reduce the unemployment rolls, they could revert to the 1970s. In 1974, I received unemployment compensation while waiting for my Ford Foundation grant to cover my doctoral research. I was given a big booklet, and once each week I had to stand in line at the unemployment office, suitably dressed for work, and I had to explain to the examiner what I had done to look for work that week. At the same time, I had to use the separate office that compiled jobs data, and cooperate in the job interview process. (There was a Seinfeld episode in the 190s, where George, unemployed, dates the examiner's unattractive daughter, in order to keep his benefits. It was amusing, and realistic.)

#8 I think I collected $250/week in unemployment a couple of times in my 40+ years of working and remember that process well. I had to go to the unemployment office in downtown St. Louis located at Broadway and Washington streets. I also had to have with me information on ALL the contacts I had made for employment that week.

Liberals just figured out the unemployment rate will stay stuck around 6% under the current policies. And the job openings that go begging will impeded any economic recovery.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) is marking its third win in the last few years on protecting the right to inspect state voter rolls for non-citizen registrations and voting. The Fourth Circuit federal appeals court on Monday ruled in favor of PILF in its lawsuit against the North Carolina State Board of Elections, vacating a lower court’s decision blocking the inspection of the state’s voter rolls for non-citizen registrations and voting. “North Carolina had tried to prevent the public from inspecting records related to noncitizens registering and voting in our elections,” PILF President J. Christian Adams said in a statement.

Politicians are prone to hyperbole, and anyone who has followed politics for longer than 10 minutes knows that. But Republicans who are sounding the alarm on H.R. 1 and its companion bill in the Senate, S. 1, are not being melodramatic or resorting to exaggeration when they say this legislation will legitimately change how our country is governed for a generation, maybe more.Per the Constitution, states are primarily responsible for governing elections, though our founding document also gives Congress authority to intervene. Historically, however, Congress (and the courts) have chosen to let states set their own rules and regulations as to how they will handle balloting.
