A huge section of a Chinese Long March 5B rocket is falling back to Earth and debris may land sometime Saturday evening or later — if the rocket doesn't burn up on the way down. The rocket could hit Earth around 11:30 p.m. EST Saturday, according to calculations by Aerospace Corporation, a California-based non-profit group that operates a space research and development center. Where, exactly, remains a mystery — for now. As of Saturday morning, Aerospace Corporation's projections put a large swath of the U.S. near projected paths of the rocket after the predicted reentry time. A Saturday morning projection placed

What if this hits a populated area? Not likely but result would be catastrophic.

What a ridiculous article. It is not a huge swath of the earth. It is a narrow band along the current groundtrack which is fully known. Garbage reporting.

Just today some idgit at dinner stated that the Chicoms will be ahead of us soon. I chimed in with how Elon Musk, using the free enterprise system, is landing and re-using rockets. Instead of billions of dollars for one flight, and throwing away the rocket stages, we are refurbishing the rocket stages. Some at the dinner table understood. The others.... well.. they voted for SloJo.

Well, USA Today, you'll now have to realize there will be no victims involved on this one. The remnants of the rocket landed in the ocean. Maybe you can gin up fear-mongering on something else. How about the prospect that Kamalie Harris will be promoted to president, but, says she doesn't want the job.

For ANY object falling to Earth, 70+% probability it will hit water. Less than 1% chance to hit a populated city or suburban area. If it was huge enough, say a 1/4 mile wide meteor.....even landing in the ocean could be pretty ugly, tsunamis would be huge. But man made stuff mostly burns up, and the remainder .....lands in the oceans or uninhabited land to a very high probability. All of it. Always.

As protesters take to the streets to fight for racial equality in the United States, experts in digital technology are quietly tackling a lesser known but related injustice. It's called techno-racism. And while you may not have heard of it, it's baked into some of the technology we encounter every day. Digital technologies used by government agencies and private companies can unwittingly discriminate against people of color, making techno-racism a new and crucial part of the battle for civil rights, experts say. "It's not just the physical streets. Black folks now have to fight the civil rights fight on the

It's already ridiculous that the foundation of this country relies on who the president is when one of nine geriatric Supreme Court justices either dies or retires. It's doubly ridiculous then, that a Supreme Court justice would understand this fickle structure, see its constant abuse by one political side, and yet refuse to retire when the party that most aligns with their judicial philosophy is in power. (Snip) Apparently, history really does repeat itself, as another left-leaning, 80-something year-old Supreme Court justice is refusing to retire at a time when the Democrats have a precarious hold on the Senate, and

New Delhi — There are new calls for India's prime minister to implement a nationwide shutdown, as COVID-19 spreads at a breakneck speed. The country on Saturday reported more than 4,000 deaths due to the virus, marking a new single-day high. How the Brits Did It -Here’s why American conservatives should pay attention to the recent special election in Hartlepool, United Kingdom: The British Conservative Party has modernized and mobilized itself to win a parliamentary constituency that the Labour Party had held for nearly 60 years; indeed, the Conservative candidate won the seat on May 7 by more than 23 points. Now that’s a story worth paying attention to, with an eye toward our replicating it here. The parallels between American conservatives and British conservatives are strong and more recently even stronger, as the two parties have taken a populist, pro-worker, anti-globalist turn.
