J. K. Rowling has again fallen victim to ‘cancel culture’ after a literary festival in New Zealand scrapped plans for a Harry Potter-themed event over her comments on gender issues. Peter Biggs, chairman of the Wairarapa book festival, reportedly decided to drop the annual children’s quiz that is usually held on the boy wizard following consultations with the LGBTQ community. It is not the first time that Ms Rowling has been ‘cancelled’ as a result of expressing her views on whether men who identify as women are the same as biological females.

''Transphobia'' is not even a real work. The Greek root and suffix combined would mean an irrational fear of things that cross; bridges, overpasses, intersections.

Just like anorexia, bullemia, and cutting now a whole generation of girls has been taught that the solution to the awkwardness, the growing pains, the not fitting in, the emotional pain of those early teen years as a developing young lady can be fixed by just going to Planned Parenthood, getting and taking testosterone, and pretending to be male. I fear in 10-20 years the number of women who did irreparable harm to themselves and their reproductive health will cause a wave of suicides. Being female is good!! Being male doesn't make you better. Isn't that something worth fighting for?

Well said, #3, from a male who has always appreciated real women. And one who has been saddened and bewildered by the number of very overweight young ladies that seem to be so common today. I have three nieces, and all are lovely, normal young women from early 20s to early 30s, and somehow avoided the 'getting fat' thing. Other great women in my family, as they got older, did not control their weight well....but I still love them. The most striking difference between Ukrainian, Armenian and Russian young women and American young women when I was traveling in those countries for a decade was that none of the young foreign women were fat, and 90%, at least, dressed like ladies and often obviously with great attention to hair and clothes, nice things, even when not "dressed up". Did older women get more "matronly"....sure, it happens everywhere. Babushkas and grandmas.... In contrast, it seemed like a majority of young American women dress normally in floppy sweats and jeans and a backwards ball cap with unkempt hair....which really doesn't show off how wonderful they really can look, sadly. And being 50 or 75 lbs overweight doesn't help at all, unfortunately. Seems like only about 1/3 to 1/2 really make the effort to be well dressed and groomed any more. Perhaps this is the external presentation of their internal issue, I'm not any good at explaining things like this. But I have eyes.

Long Island man dodges eviction for
20 years, living in house he doesn’t own

A Long Island man who only ever made one mortgage payment has deftly used the courts to stay in the house for 23 years — for free, according to legal papers. Guramrit Hanspal, 52, has filed four lawsuits and claimed bankruptcy seven times to avoid being booted from the 2,081-square-foot East Meadow home he “bought” for $290,000 in 1998. So far, it’s worked: two different banks and a real estate company have owned the three-bedroom, 2.5-bath home since Hanspal was foreclosed upon in 2000. But Hanspal remains. Hanspal’s not the only occupant of the home leveraging the U.S. Bankruptcy Code’s “automatic stay” rules.

The company is preparing to file the FDA paperwork in coming weeks and could beat out other vaccine manufacturers such as AstraZeneca. China's Covid-19 vaccines were developed fast, rolled out rapidly around the world and proclaimed by President Xi Jinping as a 'global public good' to showcase his country's benevolence. Hundreds of millions of doses have been despatched abroad after being sold to 28 countries and given away free to more than 60 poorer or strategically important places in an attempt to plug supply gaps around the globe. This vaccine diplomacy – branded by Beijing as the Health Silk Road – is a key part of the Communist regime's propaganda drive after its early cover-ups inflamed the pandemic and amid growing global suspicions over the virus's true origins.

Biden's DOJ Plotted Political Stunt
Courthouse Arrest of George Floyd Cop

The Obama DOJ is back and that means pushing black supremacist politics and going after the police. But even by Obama standards, a political stunt like a courthouse arrest of the cop who was on the scene when George Floyd died of a drug overdose is really something. Leading up to Derek Chauvin's murder trial, Justice Department officials had spent months gathering evidence to indict the ex-Minneapolis police officer on federal police brutality charges... so they came up with a contingency plan: If Chauvin were found not guilty on all counts or the case ended in a mistrial, they would arrest him at the courthouse.

Worshippers lined up at churches across Greece on Orthodox Good Friday as the government kept pandemic restrictions in place through the Easter holiday while preparing to restart services for tourists. Seating restrictions were put on church services and priests had instructions to get tested daily for COVID-19, while police maintained checkpoints along highways to enforce a domestic travel ban. Many restrictions in effect since early November will be scrapped, however, starting Monday, when restaurants and cafes will be allowed to serve customers outdoors. Tourism-related businesses and services are set to start operating again on May 15.
