I'm listening to Tracy Chapman's ''Gimme one reason to stay here, And I'll turn right back around.'' I hear that tune whenever I think about signing up for my ''shot.'' I haven't heard a good enough reason yet.

Sounds like Guillain-Barre syndrome. I had a bout about 35 years ago but only from the waist down. It took weeks to walk, months with a leg bag, and a year for the feelings to return to my feet. Nothing returned to complete normal. All three vaccines have suspected associations with the syndrome. I do not wish to risk a second bout.

Get the shot if you want to or don't. Choice is yours. I will respect anything you choose. But you cannot expect a vaccine that has been given to millions not to have some kind of adverse reaction for some people. A friend's father passed after having a reaction to aspirin. They are not going to pull aspirin off the shelves. Or what about people who cannot tolerate shellfish? Peanut butter? Just listen to the medications hawked on television. When they give possible adverse reactions it makes you want to go screaming into the night. Not every medication is for every person, hence the warnings. It is a chance we take. And we do not know of possible long term problems with the vaccine. I understand the hesitation. I am sorry some are suffering and some have actually lost their lives. These issues would have been addressed in a normal five year trial. Those who have taken the vaccine are all guinea pigs in this experiment. One of my concerns is the nonsense of a vaccine passport. Take it, don't take it, no ones business but yours.

After my 2nd Moderna shot, I had severe abdominal pain/cramping and dry heaves. This lasted for 10 to 12 hours before it subsided, after which it was like it never happened. I have never felt that awful and thought I was going to die. I thought about going to ER but did I was not inclined to sit in waiting room, sick as a dog and then being told, as the OP wryly observed, that it just means the vaccine is working. I'm definitely not buying into any "booster" shot in the future.

About the only stumble in President Biden‘s aggressive move to the left during his first 100 days came when he tripped over his own feet climbing the stairs to Air Force One. North Korea has reportedly finished testing “suicide” drones that can spy on and then attack the Hermit Kingdom’s enemies. The new “miniaturized unmanned drones” are capable of “precision reconnaissance of areas deep within the frontline”—ending with “pincer attacks,” meaning strikes from both flanks, sources told Daily NK. Military authorities raced through testing of the drones after dictator Kim Jong Un called their development an “important task” for the country, the report said. The despot then reportedly sent a personally signed “grateful message” to the team, saying the successful tests “establishes yet another cornerstone to promote the advancement and strength of the Korean People’s Army.”
