Propelled by growing voter frustration over California’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a Republican-led drive to remove Gov. Gavin Newsom from office collected enough voter signatures to qualify for the ballot, state officials reported Monday, triggering for only the second time in state history a rapid-fire campaign to decide whether to oust a sitting governor. Recall backers submitted more than 1,495,709 verified voter signatures — equal to 12% of all ballots cast in the last gubernatorial election — meeting the minimum threshold to force a special recall election, according to a tally released by Secretary of State Shirley Weber. Barring intervention by the courts, Newsom will face a statewide vote

I hope the Newsom camp doesn’t intend to verify all of those signatures. That just wouldn’t be democratic and could disenfranchise the good people of California. No, they just need to accept the outcome of the recall bid.

Nothing to get excited about. The real power in California lies within the General Assembly which is veto-proof 72% democrat, all of whom were put there by the unions to do their bidding. The Governor's only role is to sign and approve the 2,000+ new pieces of legislation that cross his desk annually. A Governor Grenell would be powerless; a Governor Jenner defies speculation.

The recall petition process is ridiculous. They get the signatures, now 30 days for the Democrat brownshirts to get them fired from their jobs, harassed, threatened, them and their families. All to get them to withdraw their signatures. Then, another 90 days to put up the money for the election, and a leftist judge to schedule an election, months of delay. Newsom will have served out his term by the time this process is done. BTW, Ca. is a state that is best not to visit, pass through, or get near. They will try to tax you if you look their direction, and you will not be able to withdraw, no matter how far away you get. Don't stay in one of the hotels, and use a credit card. You will be surprised when you get your statement, and every politician and bum in the state have added charges to your statement.

#9 has it. Should this effort proceed to an actual voting day ... which I seriously doubt ... you can rest assured that the fix will be in long before actual votes get cast. Governor Nuisance is totally jammed in with Willie Brown, Camel-La-La, Nasty Pelosi (an aunt by marriage), China money, Getty oil money and the corrupt tech companies. And interestingly, we now have Jenner announcing its plan too run for governor. Presumably as a dim who can siphon votes away from Newsom. All the Cal pubbies have to do is seize victory from the jaws of defeat, not the other way around. Maybe President Trump can drop by Cal a few times to help stir the pot and wake up enough Cal voters. But, then there's this pesky election fraud thing the dims have perfected. What to do.

I don’t know why they are wasting time with this. California is a vast wasteland of Leftist lunatics who would just replace Newsom with another limousine liberal with equal or even worse credentials as a socialist overlord. Democrat governors don’t get elected. They get appointed.

The people of California recall their governor. Not for the first time. They move away. They vote with their feet. There is a message if Democratic 'leaders' would only listen. People don't like Democratic policies, and they need to be changed. People also don't like crooks as leaders. California's leaders will never change though. They don't want to listen to the voter. They want to line their pockets. They are all bought and paid for. All they do is loot the state.

One of the most fateful decisions of Donald Trump’s presidency happened just weeks after Inauguration Day. In March 2017, Republican lawmakers joined Democrats to demand Jeff Sessions, a former Senate colleague and Trump’s new attorney general, recuse himself from anything related to the investigation into alleged Russian election collusion. Documents obtained by The Mail on Sunday reveal that a nationwide scheme, directed by a leading state body, was launched nine years ago to discover new viruses and detect the 'dark matter' of biology involved in spreading diseases. One leading Chinese scientist, who published the first genetic sequence of the Covid-19 virus in January last year, found 143 new diseases in the first three years of the project alone.
