A jail reform activist group founded by the 'Marxist' leader of the Black Lives Matter movement spent $26,000 for meetings and 'appearances' at a luxury Malibu resort.
Reform LA Jails, chaired by BLM founder Patrisse Cullors, paid $10,179 for 'meetings and appearances' at the Calamigos Guest Ranch and Beach Club, and a further $15,593 at the Malibu Conference Center, which is owned by the resort, between July and September 2019.
A single night in a two-bedroom 'cozy ranch chic' suite in July costs $1,200, and guests at the 200-acre resort have access to a private five acre beach on the Malibu coast.

April 24 was Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, marking 106 years since the start of the Armenian Genocide, when the Ottoman Turks massacred approximately 1.5 million Armenians during World War I.
Most objective historians who have examined the topic unequivocally agree that it was a deliberate, calculated genocide. According to the Genocide Education Project:
More than one million Armenians perished as the result of execution, starvation, disease, the harsh environment, and physical abuse. A people who lived in eastern Turkey for nearly 3,000 years [more than double the amount of time the invading Islamic Turks had occupied Anatolia, now known as “Turkey”] lost its homeland.

President Joe Biden is going to beef up the budget of the Internal Revenue Service to help the agency crack down on wealthy individuals and powerful corporations who try to evade his proposed tax hikes.
Biden will give the IRS an extra $80 billion and more authority over the next 10 years, The New York Times reported, to help enforce the higher income tax on the rich and capital gains tax he's proposed to pay for his $1.8 trillion American Families Plan.
The president plans to pay for his 'human infrastructure' bill by raising the top marginal income tax rate on wealthy Americans to 39.6 per cent.

A sharp drop in the supply of new vehicles due to the ongoing semiconductor chip shortage coupled with a strong demand for cars as the economy continues its post-lockdown recovery has led to an increase in used car prices with pickups leading the way.
According to used automobile wholesaler Manheim, the average wholesale price for a pickup hit $30,093 in mid-April, which is up from $28,121 a month earlier and $17,201 last April when the industry was oversupplied during the worst part of the coronavirus lockdowns. [SNIP] "This is fundamentally the most extreme demand and supply imbalance that you can envision happening," he said.

Donald Trump has told associates that he would back a Democratic candidate in Arizona's Senate race if Republican Governor Doug Ducey decided to run, according to a Monday report.
The former president is still holding a grudge against Ducey for refusing to overturn the 2020 election results in Arizona as he pushed claims of widespread voter fraud.
Two people familiar with Trump's private conversations told the Daily Beast that the former president would consider traveling to Arizona to campaign for Democratic Senator Mark Kelly.
Both sources, however, said they think Trump wasn't being totally serious.
One said the former president's political operation wouldn't be 'caught dead campaigning to keep the Senate more Democrat[ic].'

Daymond John has been criticized for a tweet praising a speech the controversial religious leader Louis Farrakhan gave at rapper DMX's funeral.
In the now-deleted tweet, the Shark Tank investor said Farrakhan's speech on Sunday, in which he hailed the rapper for his ability to connect with people through his music, was 'powerful'.
'What a powerful speech from Minister Louis Farrakhan for the #dmxfuneral,' John wrote.
'His deep understanding of the Bible and respect for other people's religions was truly inspiring. #RIPDMX'.
Many social media users took exception to the final statement, pointing out that the Nation of Islam leader has a long history of making offensive and controversial remarks.

An arts advocacy group in Charlotte, North Carolina, is facing backlash after it apologized for funding 'white, Western Eurocentric organizations' including the city's symphony, ballet and children's theater.
The Arts & Science Council, which has been a main source of funding for arts and cultural groups in the Charlotte area since 1958, issued the extraordinary apology in a February report examining its funding practices.
The group receives more than $3 million a year directly from the city, along with getting funding from philanthropies. It gave out $4.3 million in grants to 37 arts and culture organizations last year, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

A Florida bill would let students record college professors’ lectures for proof if they suspect they are pushing political bias.
HB233 would allow recordings of lectures for students' "own personal educational use, in connection with a complaint to the public institution of higher education where the recording was made, or as evidence in, or in preparation for, a criminal or civil proceeding." However, that evidence is prohibited from going public without the professor’s consent.
"A recorded lecture may not be published without the consent of the lecturer,” according to the language of the bill, as first reported by Fox News.

I'm of two minds about this tape, and not just because the New York Times is heavily featuring it.
On the one hand, Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, the main squeeze for every pro-Iran advocate from John Kerry in D.C. all the way across to Brussels, is admitting what every sane person who didn't work for the Obama administration knows is already the case.
The IRGC, Iran's hub for Islamic terrorism, calls the shots. Especially on foreign policy. And guys like Zarif are just there as window dressing to fool our useful idiots.

In the past year, essentially every person on planet earth has experienced a certain degree of loss. [SNIP] For me and my family, that person was my uncle, Rush Limbaugh.
For a year, not just our family, but countless loving fans prayed and petitioned for Uncle Rush to be healed. Shortly after he received his diagnosis, I was texting with Uncle Rush and sent him Romans 8:28 as encouragement: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." He wrote me back, "Christen, I believe that verse to a T!"
