The list of tragedies resulting from the death of George Floyd last year is extensive. The most obvious is, of course, the demise of Floyd himself; a 46-year old man who’d previously shown promise as a musician and athlete, but who became plagued by demons and ultimately died after a dreadful series of events. There are others, however… many, many others. There were 25 people who died in the mostly-peaceful Black Lives Matter/Antifa riots that followed Floyd’s passing. There was as much as $2 billion worth of property damage caused by those riots CORRECTIONS*

Beg to differ on the second sentence - the demise of Floyd himself was not a tragedy. He was an addict, a thug and a criminal with a record of violence. His demise was a result of his own actions.

The unseemly haste with which the jury returned the verdict is a clear indication of intimidation and fear. I knew the result the moment they reported that a unanimous verdict had been reached without a single question being raised. This is the fate of all such cases in the future unless law enforcement becomes exactly that - enforcement!

This officer's trial was of course victimized by a radicalized and racialized judicial system. It was not possible for him to be tried fairly.
But please recall, Floyd. Was. Down. I insist that we remember this. When a man is down and fading out and not capable of being a threat you GET OFF HIS BACK. IDK what's gonna happen to Chauvin. I hope he comes out of it somehow, but he can't be our rallying point.
We must not let the fight against radicalism morph into defending the indefensible.

George Floyd was supremely committed to his own demise. If the historically and overwhelming Democrat white folks of Minnesota gave up their codependent relationship with Black Americans and quit treating them like developmentally disabled Special Olympians, Mr. Floyd would probably still be alive. He would have been held to account at a lesser, earlier stage of bad behavior, and might have had a chance to reform his character. Instead, he rode the victim train all the way to its natural end -- as a useful tool for the Left.
We now live in an era when due process has been replaced by social media justice. Reason is dead. History has been erased. Cellphones are the instant propaganda dispensers for marching orders for the weak-minded followers of nihilism. Those who stand in the way of racial-Marxist jihad will be burned like witches at the stake.

“Experts” testified in the trial that unconscious persons on high powered drugs do come back stronger than ever.

Even fairly sober people such as Chris Plante (Chris Plante show on wmal.com) cannot say tragic or terrible enough times when talking about Floyd's death or another black person's death when police are involved.

Having had some significant experience in dealing with combative suspects, you do NOT relax until they are fully restrained, in floyds case this would have been in restraints on a gurney for me. Add in the hostile crowd and modern lynch mob mentality and the actual positioning of Chauvins knees, AND the comparative sizes of Chauvin and floyd, I would love to see the outcome of the armchair warriors tactics.

I commend #2 to the UFC video reel "Top 5 knockouts From Bottom Position." You will note, the first fighter makes no use of his hands and knocks out a standing fighter. As for being "out" and not a threat, watch any UFC fighter knocked out. With rare exception, they return to consciousness in seconds and they usually come out of stupor instinctively fighting. I believe #2, that your analysis (and that of the jury and the media) is based on scripted Hollywood fights, not the reality of bare knuckle fighting.
When you've proven you inability to comply, anyone within reach has a right to assume you did not develop more sense while unconscious.

The jurors could have found the defendant NOT guilty, if they did NOT value their homes, cars, businesses, families, or lives. Would you have found the man not guilty ?

I guess what I find sad about all of this is Democrats and liberals defining the sanctity of life yet supporting abortion. Or how about the elderly COVID deaths in nursing homes? I am sorry for George Floyd but I don't understand why his family did nothing for him. Get him the help he deserved. I think this speaks volumes for all the entities that failed him including his parents (if alive), court systems, family, friends, etc. It just seems like so much is overlooked and the proverbial "can" gets kicked down the road. Then, police have to deal with the consequences. I definitely believe that the police force is ill trained to deal with life's problems especially when drugs and alcohol are factors. . .

If this trial is not overturned in appellate court, then expert more voter and jury intimidation, as it will have set an allowable precedent. Shallow Waters will be all over the place yelling and screaming.

this was a mob verdict and the jury was correct in returning a verdict so quickly because it demonstrated that they were, indeed, fearing their personal safety. excellent item to add to the argument for the defense. but they've probably already thought of that.

While OJ Simpson continues to look for Nicole's killer Chauvin is convicted with a long prison term for arresting a drug addict who overdosed. There's no justice just appeasement to black negro peoples.

#4, the Minneapolis PD training for an excited delirium sufferer is to put him into that safe restraint position and keep him there to prevent him from harming himself. The officer followed his training, used a medically devised restraint technique and position.
Your views are johnny-come-lately, after the fact revisionism. Based on what the officers knew at the time, and their training they did absolutely nothing wrong. It is sad to see people so totally propagandized by the massive tidal wave of media lies.

Chauvin was using MPD approved training when he did what he did.

Yes I saw the testimony of the police trainer. It was good defense lawering. Knelt on the back, not neck. No damage to the windpipe. Etc.
But once a suspect has his hands cuffed behind his back he is not a threat. Not if he's a ufc, not if he's ninja, not if he's Batman.
You really wanna argue about that?
I'm not saying he killed him, I'm not even sure he contributed. But it was excessive and I can't say it wasnt. Once they're cuffed Get Off.

#19 has obviously never been performing very much suspect restraint with violent, druggie offenders.
It's not like in the movies people.

One thing is for sure, the way the leftist and liberal Democrats are running things these days the lesson for young people, unfortunately, if they value their lives is to not even think about joining a police department or the military.
As the way things are running, if you are on a police force and do your job over a 25 year career you are bound to be involved in incidents that spiral out of control resulting in the leftist and liberal Democrats exploiting whatever happened for partisan political purposes and being pleased as punch to transform you into a criminal, with you then spending years in prison where you could easily be murdered yourself.
If you are in the military there is no telling when an incompetent President like Biden will stumble into a foreign war and get you killed. As an example, look back at the Vietnam War, I happened to be in country on the ground there during all of 1968 when well over 15,000 Americans were killed. During that conflict that spanned many years over 58,000 Americans were killed and untold Americans wounded. In the end because of a lack of a will to win in DC, the Communists took over Vietnam and now if you buy a shirt from a supposed American retailer like LL Bean, and look at the label on the shirt, you may find that the shirt was made in Vietnam. So why did two liberal Democrat Presidents escalate the war in Vietnam that was essentially a civil war and get all those Americans killed and wounded before the Democrats decided to simply quit the conflict and retreat from Vietnam?
It looks like the current leftist Democrats are getting ready to do about the same thing with the globalist G.W. Bush’s war in Afghanistan. Remember there is no US President, Admiral, or General alive today who has ever won a real war, so them stumbling into a new war with a nuclear armed foreign power could easily happen. One thing is for sure, it will not be the family members of the current crop of leftist Democrats who would be on the ground fighting such a war, and you do not want it to be you doing that either, as when the going gets tough the leftist Democrats will just quit, and you may be dead, as war is hell!
