Ted Cruz jabs CNN, suggests Cuban
leader Raul Castro should join liberal

Saturday marked the end of an era in Cuba when 89-year-old Raul Castro announced he'd be resigning as the leader of the country's Communist Party. He and his late brother Fidel Castro reigned for six decades, the latter taking power in 1959 following the Cuban Revolution against then-leader Fulgencio Batista. Without a beat, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, suggested Castro's next gig. Some social media users nodded along with Cruz's suggestion, noting that the move would make sense because CNN is the "Communist News Network." Others gave Castro a network promotion.

I suspect the retirement of one leader of a totalitarian communist regime does not mean the people get freedom. The party will get a new leader and the people will still be under the same rule.

Tomi Lahren faces online mob after being

Fox News conservative commentator Tomi Lahren triggered an online mob of far-left zealots Tuesday when she noted on Twitter that, with former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin having been convicted in the death of criminal suspect George Floyd, Black Lives Matter extremists have no reason to riot anymore. “You got your justice so I’d assume there will be peace in Minneapolis tonight? No rioting? No looting? No harassing officers? Is the Foot Locker safe tonight? Should be, right? Justice, right? No need to steal in the name of George Floyd anymore, right?”

A UK technology company is inserting customised product placement into films and TV shows – even those that were originally released decades ago. London-based firm Mirriad inserts products or signage, like a branded beer bottle on a table to a clothing advert on a giant billboard, into streaming content. The firm uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyse films and TV episodes for space where the ads or objects can be subtly inserted. It means old Hollywood classics like Casablanca or The Great Escape could soon appear on streaming services with the newest ads in the background, like a new Apple smartphone or the latest McDonald's whopper.

The Democrats and their media veer from condemning the National Guard for not immediately responding on Jan 6 (even though they were the ones who decided that a few hundred unarmed guardsmen should be limited to directing traffic) to condemning them for being there when Black Lives Matter racial supremacists were wrecking Washington D.C. Here, without a trace of shame, they're pivoting from the "not enough force" to the "too much force" narratives. But there's always too much force when Democrats are rioting, but not enough force when Republicans are rioting.

Chile’s vaccination campaign against the coronavirus has been one of the world’s quickest and most extensive, but a recent surge in infections has sparked concern beyond its borders. Almost 40% of the South American country’s total population have now received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine. ]SNIP] Only Israel and the U.K., respectively, have inoculated a larger share of their population with at least one dose. Nonetheless, Chile has endured a sharp uptick in coronavirus infections in recent weeks, even with its world-renowned vaccine rollout and strict lockdowns in place for much of its 19 million inhabitants.

Just days before a verdict is expected in the high profile Derek Chauvin case, Florida leaders want to make sure any demonstrations in the Sunshine State don't get out of hand. Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday signed the so-called "anti-riot" bill into law, which places tougher penalties on protesters who engage in violent rallies. "We're not gonna let the mob win the day," DeSantis said during a news conference in Polk County, calling the plan the "strongest anti-rioting" legislation in the country. "The state of Florida takes public safety very seriously," he said.

“It was 60 years ago this week that an uncertain new president launched an ill-conceived military venture of astonishing naivety... 1,400 U.S.-trained Cuban exiles would land at the Bay of Pigs… It was an unmitigated disaster… Kennedy had learned the hard way not to blindly trust the advice of his decorated military and intelligence chiefs. (Beltway media stalwart and former Democrat White House official Lawrence Hass writing in The Hill, April, 12.) And yet again, rather than go through the trouble of concocting their own propaganda, communist Cuba’s KGB-founded and -mentored media simply transcribed the U.S. beltway media. Think I exaggerate?

Christianity exhorts its adherents to be charitable, but it is really charitable to affirm people in a belief system that tells them that hatred, contempt, and violence are blessed by the deity? The question is pertinent because recently in Nigeria and France, Catholic bishops have used the money donated by their own Catholic people to build mosques for Muslims. Charity, foolishness, or both? History will be the judge, but we can see right now a great deal of what is coming. Gloria.tv reported Saturday that in France, “Tours Diocese donated money for the construction of a local mosque,” and that “Tours Bishop Vincent Jordy justified his donation..."

It wasn't hard for Planned Parenthood to shed Margaret Sanger. What did the faded black and white photos of the baby parts organization's founder have to do with it today? If the Democrats can casually jettison Jefferson and Jackson, Planned Parenthood dumping Sanger was even easier. And, as Alexis McGill Johnson, the abortion group's current president writes in a New York Times op-ed, "I’m the Head of Planned Parenthood. We’re Done Making Excuses for Our Founder." The PP boss belatedly concedes that Sanger was a racist who hung out with the Klan, but inevitably reframes it all through the lens of critical race theory.

President Joe Biden on Tuesday filed an appeal seeking to force doctors and hospitals to perform potentially harmful transgender-related procedures and surgeries even if they hold objections. As outlined by BECKET Law’s Luke Goodrich, a court in January struck down the administration’s move to punish doctors who don’t perform transgender-related procedures for supposed “sex discrimination.” Biden on Tuesday officially appealed the ruling.“The plaintiffs are religious doctors, hospitals, and clinics who joyfully serve ALL patients regardless of sex or gender identity. They routinely provide top-notch care to transgender patients for everything from cancer to the common cold,” Goodrich outlined Tuesday.

Yahoo News, which is a hard left partisan outfit, committed an act of journalism this week: It discovered that the United States Post Office has been running a “covert operations program” to monitor Americans’ social media posts for inflammatory information. That sounds like a bipartisan sin of officiousness that, despite the public nature of many posts, can leak into being a Fifth Amendment violation. However, when you dig more deeply into the article, you discover that the Post Office is concerned only with “right-wing” inflammatory information.
