Just days before a verdict is expected in the high profile Derek Chauvin case, Florida leaders want to make sure any demonstrations in the Sunshine State don't get out of hand.
Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday signed the so-called "anti-riot" bill into law, which places tougher penalties on protesters who engage in violent rallies.
"We're not gonna let the mob win the day," DeSantis said during a news conference in Polk County, calling the plan the "strongest anti-rioting" legislation in the country.
"The state of Florida takes public safety very seriously," he said.

Expect ABC (Always Back Communism) to say this, FTA: ...after Chauvin, then a police officer, killed Minnesota resident George Floyd by kneeling on his neck for more than eight minutes. So they have decided he killed GF. No bias there. And I love the quote from the Nikkie Fried Brain.

I applaud Gov. DeSantis. He is doing the right thing and other governors should follow suit. It is terrible that this group of anarchists have as much power as they do. It has been given to them by the democrat party and their allies in the media. However, the American people are not in any way, shape or form on board with the chaos and mayhem. Americans are just about at their wits end and if the democrats believe that uncontrolled violent rioting will enamor themselves to the public, they are wrong. No one wants this kind of violence anywhere near them.
What we have, once again, is a minority of people bullying the rest of us. This will just harden the hearts of reasonable people. If anything, this is going to drive the wedge deeper into the population which is their ultimate goal. Democrats don’t appear to mind when their cities are destroyed. They certainly don’t do anything to stop it. Violence is a form of leverage to democrats. Everything they do or allow to be done is to advance their evil agenda. The hearts of individuals who think like this are exceedingly dark, and they are running the country. God help us.

We need to go back to the days when looters were shot on sight. That would put a stop to all of this in a few seconds.

Telling an angry mob to remain calm is futile. But what is really important is that buried in this bill is holding elected officials accountable. Any one who orders the police to "stand down" will be open to being sued for damages. Obviously there will be a few test cases but once there is a crack-down or two watch the riots --- at least in Florida --- cease.
The mob up north will not be satisfied with whatever decision the jury hands down that is short of allowing them to pull Chauvin out of jail and hang him from a tree ... after dragging him through the streets.

I remember when he ran for Governor. I was so nervous about Democrat dirty tricks and his opponent. When he won I was thrilled to say the least. Ron deSantis is a natural leader and has proven with his smart decisions that he's a contender for higher office.

Read the statement from Niki Fried, the Ag Commissioner: She asserts that the Gov has signed a law banning protests. Only those people who believe the 'protests' in Portland & Seattle weren't riots could believe her. She wants to be governor.

Note that DeSantis signed this bill in Polk County, with the Polk County Sheriff, Grady Judd, standing behind him. There will be no "Riots" in Polk County. Judd will make sure of it. And watch out for Nikki Fried. She has already been reprimanded for trying to restrict access to concealed weapon permits.
