Will Smith, Antoine Fuqua yank
'Emancipation' film out of Georgia
over 'regressive voting laws'

Actor Will Smith and Director Antoine Fuqua announced Monday they are yanking the production of their slave drama “Emancipation” from Georgia over its “regressive voting laws that are designed to restrict voter access.” “At this moment in time, the Nation is coming to terms with its history and is attempting to eliminate vestiges of institutional racism to achieve true racial justice,” Mr. Smith and Mr. Fuqua said in a joint statement.(Snip) “Emancipation” was scheduled to begin filming in Georgia on June 21, with Mr. Smith portraying the true story of Whipped Peter, a slave who emancipated himself from a Southern plantation

Comments:

States and companies usually play nice when faced with losing money, which in the USA is far more important than moral principle. And Whipped Peter? Cucked Will was perfectly OK with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith having an affair with another man while they were married.

No one can find anything "suppressive" in this law. But that's not the point. It's all about getting The Community up in arms over "Jim Crow" and state governments (mainly southern Republican governors and legislators) dropping to a knee for forgiveness. The show's the thing...it keeps the know-nothings whipped and feeling guilty. Poor Will Smith...he's got to lead the parade to remain cool and keep The Community happy.

That doesn't even make sense. Unless Mr. Smith and Mr. Fuqua are only interested in "woke points." If they believed in their film and wanted the widest possible exposure for it, perhaps they would have chosen differently.

Yes, definitely intended to restrict access -- by illegal and fraudulent voters, not by anyone who is legally eligible to vote. Being a loud mouthed, uninformed, disinformed fool would embarrass a brighter person.

this is a cynical and cruel attempt to damage the GA GOP brand at the expense of local businesses and workers of all races; it is nothing more than a deliberate effort to kill jobs and hurt regular people.
