The Pennsylvania Department of State has agreed to remove more than 20,000 dead voters from the state’s voting rolls in a settlement reached with an election-integrity group. The state agreed to compare its voter-registration database with the Social Security Death Index, directing all county election commissioners to remove the names of dead voters. “This marks an important victory for the integrity of elections in Pennsylvania,” said J. Christian Adams, president of the Public Interest Legal Foundation, which sued the state in October.(Snip) The lawsuit argued that hundreds of these dead voters showed up with post-death voting credits in 2016 and 2018.

Thats nice........ But until they do it on a live basis, there will be another 260,000 dead between now and the next election. More than enough to make up the difference. Voter rolls should be automatically reconciled daily with the DMV, Department of Vital Statistics and Social Security.

Maybe now Pennsylvania can start disenfranchising its live New Jersey voters.

It's a sad time when they had to go to court to get them to do their job. The swamp exists in DC but the creeks that feed it are located in every state.

To little too late. The level of voter fraud committed in Pennsylvania must have been astronomic. The truth will be known...

This should be fundamental to all voting rolls to ensure no one accidentally votes after they've died.
Republicans need to focus on this item, and ensuring anyone who's moved, has been removed too.
Then, work on who is actually eligible, when you become a resident of a particular state.
After all, most states don't allow you to simply move there in June, and then pay in-state tuition for a State University in August or September. Usually not even by January. Most, I believe, have a 1 year period of time to wait for that privilege.
So, how is anyone allowed to vote, say within 30 days of an election?
How can they simply mail ballots from a list they know is not current, and up-to-date?

Pa. has a load of replacements just waiting in the wings since it's second only to Florida in the number of people on Social Security.

Sent both my parent's death certificates to NJ. Have no idea if they were removed. I shouldn't have had to do that. Today's computers and SS should be able to automatically delete them!

I don't understand why it took a lawsuit to make this happen. The government sure jumps on death reports immediately for other things, like Social Security, taxes, etc. But they seem to always balk at updating voter rolls. Ridiculous.

How dare those evil Republicans remove the cemetery-dwelling, post-breathing, subterranean-Americans from the voter roles!
It's Selma all over again.

When it takes a lawsuit to make government officials do the right thing, it tells us everything about “voting integrity”.
Having lived in Pennsylvania for years I can tell you the criminality of the bureaucrats is second to none. They’ve turned cheating into an art form.

My mom passed away in March here in Florida and by the time I called the voter registration people two days later, they had already been informed by the state and had removed her name from the lists. Good folks down here have it all together.

Now if PA can get honest about counting votes and ensure they are legal. Voter ID should be required.

When do we get our Constitutional republic back? How about the 20 million votes that were clipped from Trump and shifted to Biden by the algorithm that actually ran the 2020 election. Now that dead people don't get to vote how about purging the computer algorithms while you're at it.

Our legislators should be removed from office as soon as possible. Because they were cowards and did not come back for special session to clean the mess that they created, PA went to Biden. It's time to replace them. Word has it that a majority of the legislators will be challenged in next year's primary.

The social security death index is so far out of date it is almost useless. Unless there is one I'm not aware of. I do know they are quick to remove those who were on it and died.
