The Associated Press reported just over a week ago that Premiere Networks, the syndicator who spread the late Rush Limbaugh’s booming voice across the fruited plain, has announced that it isn’t changing course anytime soon. Premiere Networks, the company that syndicated Limbaugh’s afternoon program to some 600 radio stations across the country, said Monday that it would continue airing a series of guest hosts that play archival audio footage of the late personality. Limbaugh died of cancer on Feb. 17. “No one can replace Rush Limbaugh, and Premiere Networks will continue to provide millions of loyal listeners with the voice of Rush for the long term,” said Rachel Nelson, company spokeswoman.

The first 2 Star Wars movies were great. The third movie was nothing more than a long commercial to sell stuffed animals at Toys R Us. They went steadily downhill from there (in my humble opinion) as "political correctness" destroyed the franchise.

I had hoped that the rotating hosts would begin with the news of the day, play a short clip of Rush on the topic, and then let the callers comment on the interplay between Rush's wit and the current issue. The clips of Rush keep getting longer and the callers only want to talk about how prescient Rush was on the issues. When the hosts began to call themselves "guides", it was enough for me. I haven't listened in weeks. I don't even turn on any talk radio. At this point, its all sound and fury signifying nothing. I miss Rush terribly, but its time to move on and find other inspiring analysts to help sort out this mess. God bless Rush Limbaugh, and rest his gentle soul.

The interesting part is that what Rush said over the years is coming to pass and is relevant today. The guest hosts are doing a good job. I would rather listen to Rush tapes than any Progressive nut.

Pulling in my horns just like I did with Zippy. I haven't turned on Rush's show since he was on at the end of December I think. He's gone, I enjoyed him for all these years.

I listened to Rush most days (unless I was busy outside the House). But, I have to say, now I do not tune in. I did after his death, but each day I found it more unnerving to have Rush speaking. I loved the man and I don't think we will ever find anyone to take his place, but I think there is such a thing as the Station Owners not letting him Rest in Peace because they know a lot of their faithful listeners will drift away. So, they keep running the clips of Rush speaking. I just can't listen to him being used that way. Sorry!

I got an amazing letter in the mail yesterday from Rush himself. Yes, I wondered how that was possible, but it was signed by the great one. It was reminding me that my 24/7 membership expires in April and if I want to continue hearing and watching his show, I need to pay up, post haste. I found it to be appalling and totally tone deaf and whoever approved these to go out should be fired immediately.

Not Suprisingly, Rush's takes still are valid. They could have not told us that Rush died and with some expert editing and commentary, you'd almost think he was dead on right (sorry for the unexpected pun) about the news of the day and we'd still think he was coming out in front of that golden EIB microphone every day. At some point, the EIB/Premiere/iHeart/Clear Channel folks are going to have to find a way to move on. But the folks over at Jeopardy are dealing with the same problem following Alex Tribec's death. Looks like both syndicators are taking the same position. I'd prefer Mark Steyn as the permanent host, but I understand that he did the gig as a personal favor to Rush and following the mess he had with another syndicator he wasn't interested in jumping back into that situation. I think I heard that the last show he did was with Katherine Limbaugh a few days after Rush's "event" (funeral) and he remarked that it would be his last appearance on the EIB.

EIB is having to use Rush because the replacements have no following, and for a reason. They are not Rush, and do not have his knowledge, experience, and talent. No matter. It is like an NFL QB that has to be replaced. You have to go through however many it takes until you get another QB.

I listened to Rush for 30 years as well. As a 24/7 member, I paid $100 a year just to download his podcasts and listen to them on my MP3 player. I skipped ahead when he spoke about golf, football, cigar smoking, turtles laying eggs on the beach by his home, and gushing callers who could say little more than "what an honor" it was to speak with him, etc. Of all the stand-ins when Rush was away, the only one I could endure was Mark Steyn. He is not so insightful as Rush, but he is always articulate and often hilarious. Since Rush died, I haven't listened to a single Limbaugh show on the radio. I haven't downloaded a single podcast. I don't want to hear Rush's political philosophy from five years ago; I've heard it already. I know his philosophy. I want insight on current politics from someone who whose politics are close to mine. I tried Mark Levin; he's smart but he seems to scream a lot and his voice and his issues become tediously repetitive. He seems to like getting into the weeds, though he usually finds his way out after a long wander. Rush was great in part because he was always current. I'm in full agreement with the above poster's comment on Benedict Pence. I don't care if I never hear that man's name again. He turns my stomach.

Many conservatives are pushing back hard against a series of executive orders on firearms that the Biden administration announced on Wednesday. I don’t doubt that Biden would ban or severely limit private gun ownership if he could, but what is striking about these specific orders is how trivial they are. Biden frames his actions in terms of gun violence being a “public health epidemic.” He refers to the recent Boulder and Atlanta shootings, and says that “cities across the country are in the midst of a historic spike in homicides….” Ironically, that is true. But why? Not because of any lack of firearms laws and regulations, which are legion.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee has become the latest state to soon allow most adults 21 and older to carry handguns without first clearing a background check and training after Gov. Bill Lee on Thursday signed the measure into law. “I signed constitutional carry today because it shouldn’t be hard for law-abiding Tennesseans to exercise their (Second Amendment) rights,” said Lee, a Republican approaching his reelection campaign for 2022, in a tweet. Lee initially proposed the National Rifle Association-backed legislation last year before the COVID-19 pandemic caused lawmakers to narrow their focus. He renewed that effort when lawmakers returned for this year’s legislative session, where the GOP-controlled

Looks like The Today Show just may have committed what Rush Limbaugh used to call a “random act of journalism,” as Townhall reports. They did a piece wondering why some of the states with the strictest restrictions in the country, like Michigan and New York, were now experiencing surges in the Wuhan coronavirus while the places which removed restrictions and dropped mandates, like Texas and Arkansas, had decreasing cases? Now, while they raised a good question, they didn’t come to a clear conclusion. They theorized that perhaps it was less testing in the southern states. The problem with that argument is that if that were true then the hospitalizations and deaths

John Fonte has written an excellent article called “End Nationalism, End America.” For many on the left, that’s the point. They may dislike nationalism, but what they really can’t stand is America. Their target isn’t the nation state; it’s our nation state. That’s why they want to cede as much of our sovereignty as they can get away with to international bodies. Fonte writes: If progressive liberal esteem for the democratic nation-state is low, the mainstream Left’s depiction of the American nation’s particular culture, people, institutions, and mores is even more negative. . . . For more than 50 years, Americans have been educated by liberals

Science and medicine can do a lot to make our lives better. But for that to happen, we have to be able to trust the public authorities, companies and institutions that produce and oversee the innovations. We’re already seeing the sad fruits of distrust in the unwillingness of many people — including health workers on both sides of the Atlantic — to take the COVID-19 vaccines. People don’t trust experts and government agencies as they once did, which means assurances of vaccine safety often fail to persuade. When health officials and other authorities manipulate the public, as they have throughout this pandemic, they lose credibility.
