The Associated Press reported just over a week ago that Premiere Networks, the syndicator who spread the late Rush Limbaugh’s booming voice across the fruited plain, has announced that it isn’t changing course anytime soon.
Premiere Networks, the company that syndicated Limbaugh’s afternoon program to some 600 radio stations across the country, said Monday that it would continue airing a series of guest hosts that play archival audio footage of the late personality. Limbaugh died of cancer on Feb. 17.
“No one can replace Rush Limbaugh, and Premiere Networks will continue to provide millions of loyal listeners with the voice of Rush for the long term,” said Rachel Nelson, company spokeswoman.

The first 2 Star Wars movies were great.
The third movie was nothing more than a long commercial to sell stuffed animals at Toys R Us.
They went steadily downhill from there (in my humble opinion) as "political correctness" destroyed the franchise.

I was Rush 24/7 and a 25-year listener, but I find that I'm not tuning in anymore.

Enough already... Life is for the living, not to constantly dwell on death. Get Bongino on the air and let Rush RIP.

I had hoped that the rotating hosts would begin with the news of the day, play a short clip of Rush on the topic, and then let the callers comment on the interplay between Rush's wit and the current issue. The clips of Rush keep getting longer and the callers only want to talk about how prescient Rush was on the issues. When the hosts began to call themselves "guides", it was enough for me. I haven't listened in weeks. I don't even turn on any talk radio. At this point, its all sound and fury signifying nothing. I miss Rush terribly, but its time to move on and find other inspiring analysts to help sort out this mess.
God bless Rush Limbaugh, and rest his gentle soul.

I still tune in to Rush's show, but I need more news. Rush informed us, kept us up to date on the issues. Premier Networks needs to stick to Rush's format and inform the listeners. I want Mark Steyn.

The interesting part is that what Rush said over the years is coming to pass and is relevant today. The guest hosts are doing a good job. I would rather listen to Rush tapes than any Progressive nut.

I'm with #s 5 and 6. I read some headlines here and do not listen to talk radio at all. Do post on another site where I can see what is going on if I want to. Pulling in my horns just like I did with Zippy. I haven't turned on Rush's show since he was on at the end of December I think. He's gone, I enjoyed him for all these years.

I listened to Rush most days (unless I was busy outside the House). But, I have to say, now I do not tune in. I did after his death, but each day I found it more unnerving to have Rush speaking. I loved the man and I don't think we will ever find anyone to take his place, but I think there is such a thing as the Station Owners not letting him Rest in Peace because they know a lot of their faithful listeners will drift away. So, they keep running the clips of Rush speaking. I just can't listen to him being used that way. Sorry!

Some of the folks want to move on. Me, I'm not ready to yet. I am finding the way EIB 30 year library is being put out with renewed vigor is great on target and full of the real Rush.

I got an amazing letter in the mail yesterday from Rush himself. Yes, I wondered how that was possible, but it was signed by the great one. It was reminding me that my 24/7 membership expires in April and if I want to continue hearing and watching his show, I need to pay up, post haste. I found it to be appalling and totally tone deaf and whoever approved these to go out should be fired immediately.

Thirty year listener here and I agree with others who think it’s time to let Rush Rest In Peace. I am no longer tuning in but have switched to listening to Brian Kilmeade on the other local talk radio station which does not carry Rush.

Dittos to #4 and $13, I started listening to Rush in 1988 and loved his show for the entire run until his untimely death. Not listening to the guest hosted show much now.

Not Suprisingly, Rush's takes still are valid. They could have not told us that Rush died and with some expert editing and commentary, you'd almost think he was dead on right (sorry for the unexpected pun) about the news of the day and we'd still think he was coming out in front of that golden EIB microphone every day.
At some point, the EIB/Premiere/iHeart/Clear Channel folks are going to have to find a way to move on.
But the folks over at Jeopardy are dealing with the same problem following Alex Tribec's death. Looks like both syndicators are taking the same position.
I'd prefer Mark Steyn as the permanent host, but I understand that he did the gig as a personal favor to Rush and following the mess he had with another syndicator he wasn't interested in jumping back into that situation. I think I heard that the last show he did was with Katherine Limbaugh a few days after Rush's "event" (funeral) and he remarked that it would be his last appearance on the EIB.

This article shows again just how ignorant media writers are:
Read this:
"Premiere Networks, the company that syndicated Limbaugh’s afternoon program to some 600 radio stations ....".
Yes, I listened and still listen to the alleged afternoon program. I hear it on my way to work at 9 AM as it has been on the radio for decades.

EIB is having to use Rush because the replacements have no following, and for a reason. They are not Rush, and do not have his knowledge, experience, and talent. No matter. It is like an NFL QB that has to be replaced. You have to go through however many it takes until you get another QB.

I listened to Rush for 30 years as well. As a 24/7 member, I paid $100 a year just to download his podcasts and listen to them on my MP3 player. I skipped ahead when he spoke about golf, football, cigar smoking, turtles laying eggs on the beach by his home, and gushing callers who could say little more than "what an honor" it was to speak with him, etc.
Of all the stand-ins when Rush was away, the only one I could endure was Mark Steyn. He is not so insightful as Rush, but he is always articulate and often hilarious. Since Rush died, I haven't listened to a single Limbaugh show on the radio. I haven't downloaded a single podcast. I don't want to hear Rush's political philosophy from five years ago; I've heard it already. I know his philosophy. I want insight on current politics from someone who whose politics are close to mine.
I tried Mark Levin; he's smart but he seems to scream a lot and his voice and his issues become tediously repetitive. He seems to like getting into the weeds, though he usually finds his way out after a long wander.
Rush was great in part because he was always current. I'm in full agreement with the above poster's comment on Benedict Pence. I don't care if I never hear that man's name again. He turns my stomach.
