COVID: Remember how we segregated smokers?

Anyone who is older than they care to admit remembers the time when smoking not only was expected, but welcome outside the small designated areas designed to corral and shame those within. Smokers and non-smokers mingled easily in offices, hospitals and bars — wherever people tended to gather in clumps large and small. That all changed when science determined the hazardous chemicals within smoke withered the lungs of all who inhaled it. If liberals get their way we'll be back to separate lunch counters, 'vaccinated only' drinking fountains, and segregated seating on the bus.

If the vaccine works, why are they afraid to be around people who are not vaccinated? And they have on their 2 masks, which they also say works, so what is the problem?

I see my preferred passport already. If my local grocery store refuses to sell me food without my ID I'll tell them to go to hell and spend my money at the other stores who will be happy to take it. I will soon enough have a network of businesses in my area who either do not ask for ID or go Nudge nudge wink wink.

This author, Scott Craven, is a moron. And his last name, by the way, means, "contemptibly lacking in courage; cowardly." Check this out: FTA: "Or worse, given how masks divided the nation between those acting responsibly and those fighting for freedom." He seems to identify two camps. "Those acting responsibly" and "those fighting for freedom." Help me out here. If I "fight for freedom," then I am "not acting responsibly?" I can't believe the articles out there claiming to be "journalism." Perhaps this article is springing from "cravenness."

Far as I am concerned, the vaccination is the Mark of the Beast. Plus if what I am reading is true, this vaccine is making people more susceptible to any new covid strains coming. No way am I going to get that stuff injected. Not a chance.

A bit off topic but food for thought. 400k plus die each year from the effects of smoking. If the CDC really wanted to help end pain and suffering from illnesses due to addictive behavior, they would push to outlaw smoking. The last surgery I had a few years back, I shared a floor with patient suffering from lung disease. It was from lung cancer or emphysema. That was the most gut wrenching sound I’ve experienced in my 69 years of living. I’m sure my Libertarian friends are blowing a gasket right now. It would be a law this white, born again, senior, conservative male could live with.

"According to a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, 62% said unvaccinated people should not be allowed to travel on airplanes. Furthermore, more than 50% said that unvaccinated people should not exercise in public gyms, sit in movie theaters or attend concerts. And 72% said it was important to know if people nearby (and certainly within 6 feet) were vaccinated." God, I hope these polls are BS, but fear they are not. People are ready to sacrifice their own freedoms, and especially the freedoms of others, and our government will be only too happy to oblige. This does not speak well for humanity. We would turn on each other in a second.

#9 you are no better than the libtards that constantly want to pass laws that restricts the rights of others that you disagree with. Passing a law to outlaw smoking because you disagree with smoking for whatever reason is not a law that a free country should be doing. Let's inspect your life and see what we object to and then pass a law against it.

I thought people get vaccinated so that they cannot catch a virus from those who were unvaccinated? Now people are taking a vaccine and they are afraid of those who don't take it? I have read where if you take the "vaccine" you can still catch and spread the virus so I assume this is what the vaccinated are afraid of? If you can still catch and spread the virus you are not really vaccinated right? If you can still catch and spread the virus then why the heck would you get the vaccine? My biggest question though is if you can still catch and spread the virus after being vaccinated why is the vaccine being pushed on us so hard? Why are being coerced into taking this thing that neither protects the vaccinated nor those around them?

After years of political wrangling and lobbying by advocacy groups, New York state has legalized cannabis for adult recreational use in a move that’s expected to shake up the industry, inspire other states to follow suit and help light a fire under the effort to reform the U.S.’s still-strict cannabis laws. However, some experts say the state’s 13% tax may be too high to compete with New York’s robust black market. Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the bill early Wednesday and called it a historic day for the state, which is expected to become the second biggest cannabis market in the

JERUSALEM — The historic walled Old City of Jerusalem came alive this week with Christian and Jewish religious festivals now that more than a third of the city is inoculated against COVID-19. Last spring, police checkpoints blocked Jewish families from gathering for the Passover eve meal, priests shut the wooden doors at the church marking Jesus' tomb, and the traditional Palm Sunday procession on the Mount of Olives was called off. This year, all of that was reversed, as infections have plummeted and authorities have eased restrictions on gatherings. On Palm Sunday, hundreds of Christian faithful marched down the Mount of

President Joe Biden touted his $2 trillion infrastructure plan as a "once-in-a-generation" effort to tackle climate change while creating millions of "good paying jobs." Some unions warn that it may ultimately cost a lot of jobs, too. Labor groups, echoed by Republicans in Congress, are cautioning that Biden's plan to hitch the jobs recovery to massive green energy investment could backfire because of the quality of employment it will create and the economic devastation it could cause on rural communities. The president's push to decarbonize the economy will mean eliminating the kind of steady, fixed-location jobs that come with coal

Trump’s signature tax cuts. Now, under President Biden, they have a shot at ushering in the largest federal tax increase since 1942.
