San Francisco, Calif.—Staples and Office Depot are offering to laminate your COVID-19 vaccination card for free. Millions of Americans who have received the COVID-19 vaccine are carrying around paper cards as proof. Keeping your card safe could come in handy. Some destinations, cruise lines and major sports venues require proof of full vaccination, while some businesses are offering perks to people who can prove they received the vaccine. The vaccine cards include information on which vaccine was given and the date it was administered. The card also serves as a reminder as to when to get the second dose

Comments:

Large corporations are bridging the gap until our QR code verifiable smartphone IDs are ready, which will grant us admittance to grocery stores and other public venues. How cool is that? The same Marxists who howl about Jim Crow, plus opportunistic, power-crazed criminals like Bill Gates, have a far more insidious system ready to go for the new negroes.

I had mine laminated two weeks ago at a UPS store. In a couple of weeks, I plan to punch a hole in it, put it on a lanyard, and wear it around my neck instead of a mask.

This jazz can also be viewed as an extension of the precedent set with Obamacare, in that we were perfectly free to not "participate" in buying incredibly expensive high-deductible insurance, but then we'd also volunteer to pay a hefty tax penalty and also to be charged much higher rates for doctor visits, prescription drugs, and the rest. Don't want to be injected with an experimental gene therapy that's not even been tested on animals yet? That's your choice, but we won't let you do anything in public. What a great time this is to be an American.

Just a matter of time before a discrete identifier (like the QR code described by O.P.) comes into play to encode certification, audit trail, and identifier. For convenience and discretion it could be tattooed somewhere hidden but easy to uncover when needed -- like on the inside of a forearm, usually covered with a sleeve)... a 'passport' to mobility and commerce .... a creepy cross between the concentration camp serial numbers of WWII and the "mark of the beast" from Revelation.

I don't have a smart phone. Don't want one and will hold out as long as possible. So I am offended and demand that they not discriminate against me. PS Just get some book tape slap in on both sides of your vaccine card and trim it. I'm waiting for the government to simply bar code our foreheads.

President Joe Biden's administration for the first time Tuesday allowed journalists inside its main border detention facility for migrant children, after weeks of shutting the media out and releasing their own photos. The tour revealed a severely overcrowded tent structure where more than 4,000 migrants, including children and families, were crammed into pods and the youngest kept in a large play pen with mats on the floor for sleeping. Border guards say 14 per cent—one in seven—of the migrant children have tested positive for COVID and photos also show detainees being treated for lice, amid fears of an outbreak.
