In a fresh twist on the Biden administration’s decision to house illegal immigrants at hotel facilities, crunching the numbers on the $86.9 million that is set to be spent on 1,239 beds shows that the cost to U.S. taxpayers will be nearly $72,000 per border-crosser housed. “That works out to $71,666.67 per migrant, paid by your tax dollars, meaning that you are now a co-conspirator to one of the largest smuggling schemes in history,” wrote Andrew Arthur, a fellow with the Center for Immigration Studies, a conservative policy research nonprofit. Believe me..... we aren't spending 72K per illegal. SOMEONE is profiting, someone is getting paid to head this up. My guess..... some democrat donor now has a company that will charge outrageous fees to book rooms. Possibly, they are blocking out entire hotels, ala Obama vacations, for an undetermined amount of time. AND, security will have to be put into place.

Meanwhile, thousands who have served in this nation's armed forces live on the streets, foraging for food. They and thousands of others receive pathetic medical care as well. BS like this is why I can no longer consider those who voted for democrats and supported the election fraud and corruption simply fellow countrymen with differing views on policy. This "administration" is a farce, and anyone supporting it is no friend of mine.

How about for every illegal placed on these benefits, knock one person off the existing welfare rolls? After all, if we can't afford the ones we already have, how can we add more to the taxpayers' burden? And I'm sure every commiecrat will attest that already we don't have enough funds for welfare...right?

I guess if I were a hotelier, I'd be charging full rack rate (you know, that inflated rate inside your guest room door) for these folks. After damage repair, they may be able to break even. Although, in my daily work, I deal with hotel owners who tell me that they are losing employees right and left because the workers can make more money on unemployment than working (and now, $10K tax free). As one of them told me, maybe they can get the illegals to work for them because the US citizens don't want to work.

That a nice thing that Biden did for those illegal aliens, giving them the opportunity to trash all those motel rooms that will probably cost the US Government more to fix then what the initial rent contract cost them. All that occurring as the National Guard was made to sleep in DC parking garages and the West Coast cities being inundated with the homeless who are sleeping on the streets.

The Homeless Industry is big, big business. The Illegal Alien Industry is big, big business. There are lots of players all down the line and every one of them gets a piece of the pie. Not long ago there was an article about L.A. spending multi-millions of dollars on a homeless "all services in one" center; socialist services, drug treatment, mental illness, medical, food and shelter. (Note there are no job placement services.) I can't remember the exact figure, but it was in the range of $90,000 per vagrant served. That money pays the salaries of all those workers providing all those services, the smart people that spent $150,000 to get a degree in Social Work or a subject ending in "studies". You can also be sure that the builder was "connected" to the "cause" and his take was padded with change-orders, construction delays and cost overruns. Then the public employees union kicks back money to the elected officials for their "campaigns", along with generous donations from the builder. Its the cycle of life for the Woke. Every new tent popping up in front of a downtown store is $$$ to the commies. People are a commodity; to be bought and sold, or used and thrown away.

Not every aspect of the onslaught of self-hate that has broken over America, warped its media, and turned most of the academy—and even apparently, most of its elementary and secondary schools—into centers of reorientation designed to convince Americans their national past is loathsome hypocrisy, is bad. Every country has a national mythos, and the larger, more complicated countries have relatively elaborate, conventionally agreed-upon versions of the raison d’être of their nationalities. In the case of the United States, there have always been some soft points in this rationale, and to a slight extent, there may be some merit in addressing them. Several Florida Democrats are challenging a report by the CBS News program “60 Minutes” that attempted to paint the state’s vaccination partnership with the Publix grocery store chain as nefarious. The program on April 4 explored the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Florida, which has experienced a similar COVID-19 death rate to California and other states despite having much looser restrictions. In one heated exchange, a reporter pressed Gov. Ron DeSantis on the use of Publix stores to administer vaccines, claiming the fact that Publix contributed $100,000 to his political action committee before the chain was chosen could be seen as evidence of a “pay-for-play” scheme.

The French Enlightenment philosopher known to us as Voltaire once said, “Whoever can make you accept absurdity can make you commit injustice.” This was in response to the persecution and execution of Jean Calas, the last man in France to be broken on the wheel. Calas was a Protestant living in a Catholic society, so critics of the Church used his case much in the same way moderns are using George Floyd. Voltaire, like most men of the Enlightenment, had a simplistic understanding of human society.
