During the first news conference of his presidency, Joe Biden was never asked about the issue that likely got him elected and, in all likelihood, will be the defining crisis of his time in office.Over the course of 62 minutes on Thursday, the Covid-19 pandemic never arose, except for in the president’s remarks at the start of the event, touting the accomplishments his administration has made in the U.S.’s year-long fight. The absence of the issue from the news conference illustrates the degree to which a host of other challenges have begun to dominate Biden’s time in office:

I have to admit, I almost felt sorry for Joe Biden during his ridiculous press conference on Thursday. Watching this sham of an event was excruciating, particularly during the moments he seemed to forget what he was trying to say.But perhaps one of most ridiculous parts of the press conference, when Biden actually succeeded in getting through a sentence without losing his train of thought, was when he made an absurd attack on Republican efforts to strengthen election integrity in various states.“What I’m worried about is how un-American this whole initiative is. It’s sick. It’s sick,” he said. “I’m convinced that we’ll be able to stop this,

Far left PBS hack Yamiche Alcindor told MSNBC that covering President Trump in the White House is a “team sport” and they have each other’s back in their hatred of the president. This comes to a surprise to no one.The liberal White House media has been against this president and any outsideer who threatens their leftist clique. (Snip) Yamiche Alcindor badgered President Trump about the media’s “kung flu” rumor earlier this month and attacked the president for calling the current pandemic the Chinse coronavirus.

President Biden on Thursday said he would “be flattered” if migrants were surging to the US-Mexico border because of him — but disputed that notion, insisting that migration waves generally happen in the spring and the mounting crisis his administration is facing is not unique.Biden, taking his second question at his first formal White House press conference, was asked about people illegally entering the US because of the perception he will welcome them, which he did not address and instead insisted that the same situation occurs “every single, solitary year.”“Well look, I guess I should be flattered if people are coming because I’m a nice guy —

President Joe Biden’s administration is weighing the idea of declaring gun violence as a public health emergency, in order to take dramatic executive action to tackle gun rights.Biden officials and gun control activists discussed the idea, according to the New York Times, as well as other executive actions that could tackle gun rights nationwide. If Biden declared a public health emergency, he could shift more funding to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to increase their inspections of gun dealerships. It would also loosen up available funds for community gun violence programs. The administration is also exploring a way to classify gun kits (including 80 percent uppers/lowers) as firearms,

NPR is getting in front of it by assuring us it’s going to be a tough sell, but former President Donald Trump is responding to social media companies like Twitter and Facebook, that suspended him from their platforms in early January following the chaos at the Capitol, by teasing plans to create his own platform. In a media advisory issued from his office on March 22, Trump indicated he would be a guest on former Fox News contributor Lisa Boothe’s new podcast, “The Truth with Lisa Boothe,” which turned out to be the place where Trump himself teased his Trump-branded social media idea.

Axios reports that President Biden has been consulting with historians in his quest to figure out who he is — and that, right on cue, those historians have suggested that Biden is a Great Man who has been sent to completely overhaul the United States.Among the ideas with which the president’s consultants apparently agreed are that now is the time for Biden to “jam through once-in-a-lifetime historic changes to America,” that he must “go even bigger and faster than anyone expected,” and that it would be a good idea for him to “jam through what could amount to a $5 trillion overhaul of America, and vast changes to voting,

Researchers in Mexico have sniffed out a new COVID-19 mask designed for people to wear only over their schnozes while they eat, according to a report Wednesday. The nose masks — worn under a full mask with similar behind-the-ears straps — were unveiled in a demonstration video where a man and woman sit down for lunch, according to Reuters. In the video, the pair takes off their normal masks to reveal their nose-only gear before chowing down at an outdoor table. Some observers cheered the idea on Twitter, saying it would “reduce transmission” while others poked fun of its goofy look.

A former CNN producer called on the network to stop one of its hosts, Don Lemon, from using “dangerous” rhetoric surrounding his coverage of the Monday mass shooting in Boulder, Colorado. In the aftermath of the shooting that killed 10, Lemon used his platform on CNN to advocate for gun control and slam Republicans for resisting such measures by Democrats. The CNN host also insisted that Americans are playing the “odds” that they will not be killed in a mass shooting by not supporting gun control measures.“Every single one of us is just playing the odds at this point. The odds that in a country of 325 million souls that we

President Joe Biden claimed during a White House event on Wednesday that there is nothing that a man can do that a woman can’t do just as well or better.Biden made the remarks in the South Court Auditorium at an event marking Equal Pay Day.“There’s a lot to do, but together we can ensure that our daughters have all the same rights and opportunities as our sons,” Biden said. “And if we’re able to do this, it’ll be transformational for our nation. That’s the goal. That’s what this is all about. That’s what this team, all of you, are all about.”“Let me make one more point.

Joe Biden has made 'about the worst possible choice' in putting Vice President Kamala Harris in charge of the border, the Republican governor of Arizona has said, as critics pointed to her previous statements as evidence of her being unfit for the role.Biden on Wednesday announced that Harris was heading up his administration's approach to the U.S.-Mexico border, as they scrambled to get a grip on the increasingly fraught situation. 'She's leading the effort,' he said. 'The best thing to do is put someone when he or she speaks, they don't have to wonder about is that where the president is. 'She speaks for me. She knows what she's doing.'
