During his confirmation hearing, now-Penatgon chief Lloyd Austin vowed to purge “ideological enemies...within our own ranks.” Wasting little time, he ordered a military-wide “stand down” to address extremism within our nation’s armed forces.(Snip) Apparently, some military members view the events at the Capitol on January 6th and the year-long BLM/antifa rioting, looting, vandalism, arson, and murder as equally problematic. This reportedly “worries” Pentagon officials.(Snip)Of course federal facilities, from ICE facilities to courthouses, were and continue to be targeted by BLM/antifa anarchists, but that’s different. They are protesting a righteous cause and thus not extremist. Or something.

A former federal prosecutor, Glenn Kirschner, has launched a campaign to force “every business in America” to take a pledge that states, in part, that “The 2020 presidential election was free and fair, and produced accurate, reliable results.” Any American business refusing to take this pledge, regardless of their own personal beliefs, will presumably be subjected to the cancel mob.(Snip)The final piece asks companies to “not support, donate to or endorse politicians, political campaigns or political action committees that promoted false conspiracy theories surrounding the 2020 presidential elections (or otherwise acted in ways contrary to a representative democracy).”

January 20, 2021. President Joe Biden is sworn in as the 46th president of the United States. The scene, however, is devoid of any human presence.(Snip)The city is under the protection of 25,000 members of the National Guard, heavily armed. High barriers topped with razor wire surround the Capitol area.(Snip)The explanation given by city officials and the FBI was that there was a risk of serious disruption. Other inaugurations had faced disruption, but had never placed the city under siege.

All over the country, there are businesses, schools, and churches that are still not allowed to reopen, but it’s a different story at migrant shelters. The Centers for Disease Control is allowing shelters handling child migrants who cross the U.S.-Mexico border to expand to full capacity, abandoning a requirement that they stay near 50% to inhibit the spread of the coronavirus, Axios has learned.

Fully vaccinated Americans can gather with unvaccinated family members and friends without any restrictions who live under one roof, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on Monday. In a clarification of its guidelines for those who have received one of the three approved vaccines, the agency said that visits should be kept to one unvaccinated household at a time amid fears of large gatherings, CNN reported.
Officials also reiterated the unvaccinated people must be at low risk for severe illness or death from COVID-19.

President Biden urged Congress to ban “assault weapons” and high-capacity magazines following the Boulder, Colo., shooting in which ten people were killed.
“I urge my colleagues in the House and Senate to act,” Biden said at a press conference. “We can ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines in this country once again.”
Biden also called on the Senate to pass a bill already approved by the House, which tightens background checks for potential gun buyers.
“The United States Senate, and I hope some of them are listening, should immediately pass the [bills] that close loopholes in the background check system,” Biden said.
While the last election is still fresh in the minds of most Americans, the next one is going to become an issue a lot sooner than most people think.

The suspect who has been detained in Monday's mass shooting in Boulder, Colo. has been identified as Ahmad Alissa. The 21-year-old suspect is alleged to have entered a King Soopers grocery store in Boulder and killed 10 people. Boulder Police Chief Maris Harold said that Alissa is from Arvada, which is 20 miles south of Boulder, according to the New York Post.
"I want to say to the community, I am so sorry this incident happened," Harold said, "and we are going to do everything in our power to make sure this suspect has a thorough trial and we do a thorough investigation."

Police arrested Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, 21, of Arvada and charged him with 10 counts of first-degree murder, Boulder Police Chief Maris Harold said at a press conference.
Alissa, who was shot in the leg, was in stable condition at an area hospital and was expected to be released later Tuesday, officials said.
