The Ford Motor Company, a multinational automaker, is reportedly planning to move a $900 million investment originally intended for an Avon Lake, Ohio plant to a site in Mexico, the United Auto Workers (UAW) union alleges.
In a letter to Ohio Assembly Plant (OHAP) employees in Avon Lake, where Ford employs about 1,740 workers manufacturing its F-650 and F-750 medium duty trucks, UAW official Gerald Kariem said Ford had committed to investing $900 million in the project in 2019.

Can’t blame Ford. They know the business climate en route for the next four years.

This is not about greed, it is about survival. When your competitor is selling for 50% or 70% of what it cost your company to make the product, you move to a lower cost environment, or go out of business. This is the voice of experience speaking.

We know that union members are told to vote for democrats even though they would have done much better under Trump which makes me wonder how much the union leaders are paid by the democrats to betray their union members as its the rank and file that will suffer under this move by Ford, not the union leadership.

With millions more losing jobs, and even more millions unable to find a full time job, just where are the taxes coming from that the communists want to increase? The cost of living/inflation is going to skyrocket.

# 8 - 80 million of us have our heads on right. Simply put, we've never been in a situation such as this in our country. It's been shocking how fast and how badly it's being destroyed. I for one have no idea how to stop it other than to do what we all did, vote. We've never had to organize a resistance. We've always counted, sort of, on those in Washington, that we elected, to keep it running safely. They aren't. I don't know about anyone else but I keep hoping sanity returns, in some form, to Washington and someone starts slapping Pelosi and Biden down. I feel Trump is working hard behind the scenes but entirely too much is going wrong too fast and he needs help.

Democrat tax increases to fund progressive projects, including the Green New Deal, have the highest priority. All else is secondary. The resulting harms are going to be staggering.

Trusting Democrats is exactly like trusting the word of Communists back in the day. You can’t, but the people in charge of the country did and when the Commies broke their word, our leaders moaned but ignored it and went on to the next deal. Reagan stopped that by saying”Trust, but verify!” Will UAW workers continue down the same path? Let’s wait and see. In the meantime, don’t have any sympathy for them.

Why bother to move to Mexico?
Mexico is moving here by the millions with total impunity.

#7: Taxes won't pay for this. If you took 100% of all earnings it would not pay the Nation's Debt. The money they spend is just printed by Federal Reserve, which will make the dollar soon worth much less.
Venezuela just started printing a one million Bolivar note worth 57 cents.

Back in the early 70’s I heard a radio broadcast about the automotive strike going on in Detroit. The workers were complaining about their low pay and low standard of living. What they made then was equivalent to $50 an hour in today’s money! Imagine the real labor costs now! No wonder Ford is moving to Mexico!

The ONLY people I feel compassion for are those who voted for PDT, and I include all in the local businesses that depend upon the employees of the plant to keep money coming in. They don't deserve to suffer because of the stupidity of those who voted for Biden/against Trump.

When Obama was in office I analyzed my wife's 401-K investments and spotted the losing one Ford stock dragging the portfolio down. Not a fan of Ford products I personally move all of it into the increasing investment and fixed it in one quarter.
Union auto workers you get what you pay for. Check Fords stocks today if you want to see a loser.

No more Ford vehicles for me. I like my F150, will be looking at non-Ford, non-GMC brands next replacement time.
If you can't build your car in the USA, you won't sell it to me. My Hondas are ALL USA made, in fact they are exported to Japan.
Screw Ford. They have lost my business.

Many corporations wanted Trump gone. Was Ford one of them? My guess is they always wanted this plant in Mexico. They had to halt their plans when Trump started talking about hiring Americans.

I don’t think Ford would have made this move under President Trump.
It was good to be an American company during Trumps term.
But they see that Biden is a senile old fool who will raise their taxes, so they will do what is best for them.

The guy who we bought our house from was a member of a union. His union newsletter still comes to our house after 10 years (and multiple tries by us to stop it).
This month, I looked at it, and it was spewing Demon-Rat talking points. Apparently a lot of union members are complaining about how the union is cow-towing to the Demon-Rats, and the union guy responding was telling them that they were all wrong and stupid for feeling that way.
I don't feel sorry for any of them, or blame Ford in the least. Under President Trump, companies were bringing jobs and manufacturing back to the USA. Now the flow is going the other way again. No shock there at all. These companies have to survive. And will new "affirmative action rules", higher taxes, and an anti-business agenda by the current administration, they have no choice if they still want to be around in 4 years!!!
