The Kroger Co. announced Wednesday it is closing three Los Angeles stores. A Food4Less at 5420 W. Sunset Blvd., and two Ralphs, one at 9616 W. Pico Blvd. and the other at 3300 W. Slauson Ave., will close on May 15, Kroger said. The move follows the Los Angeles City Council's vote on March 3 to approve an ordinance that requires large grocery and pharmacy retailers to offer employees an additional $5 per hour in hazard pay amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

It shouldn't be long before the community activists declare this as a racist action by Kroger. Probably include the word systemic. Look for them to fully blame DJT for the store closures.

You would think that any politician running for office in this country would have two requirements: 1) pass a test on the US Constitution, and 2) pass a test on basic economics!!! Of course, no Demon-Rat could ever pass either of those tests, so it won't happen...

It sounds to me like the City government is deliberately creating some of those horrible 'Food Deserts' that the Media likes to cry about. ..... but the Liquor and Pot shops will be open!

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency said Thursday that it has paused publication of a final rule that would require banks to do business with companies such as oil drillers and gun manufacturers that they might otherwise choose to avoid because of perceived reputational risk. The OCC said in a statement that the delay of the rule, which drew opposition from bankers as well as Democrats.

Georgetown Law has fired one white professor and placed another on administrative leave after a video of their discussion about a black student in their class was condemned on social media. Dean Bill Treanor anounced on Thursday that the school had ended its relationship with Professor Sandra Sellers after the video showed her complaining on Zoom that black students were predominantly at the bottom of her class.(Snip) 'They were a bit jumbled. A former employee of Panda Express has filed a lawsuit against the company, claiming that it urged its employees to complete a training seminar in which she was forced to strip down to her underwear in front of other participants and subsequently hug a male participant who was also in his underwear, also in front of other participants. Eli Lilly & Co says its combination antibody therapy is effective at treating mild to moderate cases of COVID-19. The treatment, a mixture of drugs bamlanivimab and etesevimab, was developed by Indianapolis-based Lilly and the Canadian company AbCellera. It recognizes the virus once a person is infected and attaches to it, preventing the pathogen from entering human cells, and therefore neutralizing it. In trial data released on Wednesday, Eli Lilly said the combination reduced the risk of hospitalization and death by 87 percent compared to a placebo. The results are an improvement of an earlier study of the combination, which reduced the risk of hospitalization and death by 70 percent.
