“Have you been following this ‘Equality Act?'” a Catholic priest I know asked me as I passed on the icy sidewalk early Sunday afternoon.“A bit,” I answered. “You can be sure anything that comes out of D.C. does the opposite of its name.”“Check it out today,” he replied. “It could pass as early as this week, and it’s very, very troubling.”The two of us went our ways, carefully navigating the icy bricks back to the safety of our homes. The monsignor was right, of course: If the Equality Act passes, he won’t be safe in his home much longer, nor will women be safe in their sports, their restrooms and

I submitted this poem by James Russell Lowell to my congressman suggesting he put it in the Congressional Record. This is just te first stanza. I suggest you Google and read the entire poem. Very apropos to today.
"Once to every man and nation comes the moment to decide/ In the strife of Truth with Falsehood, for the good or evil side;/ Some great cause, God's new Messiah, offering each the bloom or blight,/ And the choice goes by forever 'twixt that darkness and that light./ Then to side with truth is noble,/ When we share her wretched crust,/ Ere her cause bring fame and profit,/ And 'tis prosperous to be just;/Then it is the brave man chooses/ While the coward stands aside..."

I'm not joking about this. I believe that Christ's second coming could happen at any time.
This world is really messed up.

#2, if Christ does come back, the left will be perfectly happy to crucify him again.

When I was serving in the military it was clear to me that if someone in authority wanted to bring charges under the "Uniform Code of Military Justice" it would be nearly impossible to go through a day without doing something that could be a factual basis to support a charge under that Act.
This "Equality Act" reminds me of the UCMJ except its scope applies far beyond the military. It provides for vast micromanagement of our behavior.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure,” Thomas Jefferson November 13, 1787.
The time is rapidly approaching. Being encouraged by Congress, media, demlibnuts, academia
And BiteMe is planning to eliminate conservatives from the military.
Humm, fearing a coupe? Probably

And a devout Roman Catholic named Joseph Biden would sign this so-called “Equality Act” into law!

Couple of thoughts. One, if this is passed, there is a day of reckoning coming for the Catholic bishops in this country and the blame will need to be directed squarely at them. They have brought about this monstrosity with their dithering, hobnobbing, obfuscation, and deceit. Before you blast me, I am a cradle Catholic. I still practice my faith and I love it dearly, but these men will be their own undoing and they are so blinded by their pomposity and carnal loves that they can't see it. Or, worse, we have bishops afraid to speak out for fear of being censured or "removed". "They that sow the wind will reap the whirlwind." Unfortunately, the rest of us have to reap it too.

#1 - Thank you. I don't think I've read Lowell since college. I've included a link below to the whole poem. In the version on the poetry website, the stanza you quoted was the 5th. Its eighteen stanzas and well worth the read, including several lines several times. This stanza spoke to me.
"Careless seems the great Avenger; history's pages but record
One death-grapple in the darkness 'twixt old systems and the Word;
Truth forever on the scaffold, Wrong forever on the throne,—
Yet that scaffold sways the future, and, behind the dim unknown,
Standeth God within the shadow, keeping watch above his own.

#1 & a reminder for us all: Using the first name of the product that broke new ground, such as Kleenex or Xerox, is a feature of our language. However, products and services in the past did not want to "fundamentally transform" our country. Please replace "Google" in your vocabulary with "search". I use Startpage.com for my searches.
