The Supreme Court declined a request from former President Donald Trump to halt a New York state prosecutor from obtaining his tax returns, the Associated Press reports. The decision closes a years-long effort by Trump to keep his tax returns private. The Economist reports that Monday’s decision opens eight years of tax returns to New York County district attorney Cy Vance. The Supreme Court did not deliver any dissents or offer any explanation as to why they denied Trump's request for a stay in keeping the returns out of Vance's hands. The Associated Press reports that Trump's tax records are not expected to be made public

Kavanaugh and Barrett voted with Roberts and the Libs... After all Trump and conservatives went through to get them on SCOTUS, when it matters, they throw in with the lying, corrupt cabal that drug their names through the mud.

Okay. How can I get the Biden family returns? And the Clintons? And The Obamas? The Pelosis?
Be careful what you wish for. You might get it.

Notice how the news media has framed this whole issue as "there must be something in his taxes that are bad"? That there must be some criminal activity involved?
President Trump ran a private business and had professional accountants and attorney's handle all of these matters.
And, since he's not President now, any idea he may have had loans from some Russian or German, or anyone else which allegedly "compromised" him would be moot today.
But this is really the issue, right, that they need to find something that makes people believe he was truly compromised, which they then can state showed why they pushed so hard all these years.

My faith in just about everything that I have believed in my whole life has been crushed. I just hear that they also refused to hear the election cases that were before them.
I will really be missing Rush's take on these things. He could always inspire hope in these situations. Maybe he'll have some higher power "pull" now and can make good things happen?

What is the purpose of this investigation other than an attempt to somehow shame and embarrass Trump? If the IRS is incompetent then shut it down. And if Lois Lerner didn't find anything what is there for Vance to discover?

“The Associated Press reports that Trump's tax records are not expected to be made public through the investigation”
The NY Times will surely be given Trump’s returns within 48 hours of their handover. We can expect a series of sensationally shallow articles falsely implying fraud and tax evasion within 5 to 7 days. James Comey’s daughter is a prosecutor in Cy Vance’s DA office, and she’ll probably use the same Columbia U professor as her disgraced father did to leak anti-Trump stories to the Times. When it comes to Trump, the 2 minutes of hate are 24/7/365.

There will be things that can be made to look embarrassing to Trump, but nothing illegal.
Move on. Nothing to see here.

President Trump is being nibbled to death by dirty ducks. We prey that this devious underhanded disgusting behavior will come back to bite them. Where it hurts the most, in their ego.

Billionaire businessmen must have enormously complicated tax returns. Just watch - they'll cherry pick some little insignificant perfectly legal loophole and really play it up.

The lesson being administered is that no one outside those approved by the ruling oligarchy had better even think about running for high office in the former U.S.A. Trump may be wealthy but the powers that be are doing all they can to ruin him in every way possible. Trump has the money to defend himself (for now) but any of the peons who get ideas had better pay attention to the example being made here.

OK--- let's look into the tax records of Biden, the Clintons, Maxine Waters, Pelosi, to name just a few. Why aren't THEIR tax records being examined? Why?
Could it be that this is just political?

Business transactions are contractual arrangement negotiated between the parties. Cyrus Vance Jr has no business second guessing those contracts, or any right to inspect them. Vance is a political hack, and the SC knows it. We are going to get nothing from any of McConnell's judges. Surprise. They are all RINOs.

Are they taking wagers in Vegas as to when Trumps tax returns will be released to the New York Times? They can say they will be kept confidential all they want during this fishing expedition, however we all know they will leak out within hours of their release. Also, if they have been audited by the IRS, wouldn't any wrong doing have been found at that time? Could this be considered double jeopardy?

If SCOTUS dismisses election fraud challenges in PA over them being "moot" after the inauguration, shouldn't they also dismiss the Trump tax record cases over them being moot after his exit from office?

Four of the Eight years Cyrus Vance wants to peruse were when Donald Trump was in the White House, and his holdings were not under his control. As an earlier poster mentioned, His taxes are in the hands of lawyers and accountants. The Donald is not sitting up nights filling out a 1040EZ.

The Income Tax If is now a means of doxxing Americans and jailing them on a pretext. No American, let alone a business person of Trump's stature, can possibly escape a government effort to frame them using the Tax Code
