Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) ordered flags at half-staff to honor the late conservative icon and radio host Rush Limbaugh. However, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, a Democrat, is refusing to lower flags despite the Governor’s order.“Lowering to half-staff the flag of the United States of America is a sacred honor that pays respect to fallen heroes and patriots. It is not a partisan political tool. Therefore, I will notify all state offices under my direction to disregard the Governor’s forthcoming order to lower flags for Mr. Limbaugh – because we will not celebrate hate speech, bigotry, and division.

Nikki Fried missed a great blessing by never ever having listened to even one of Rush's shows. Her loss. Everyone bearing the name Limbaugh completely understands. PS: Ms Fried, it ain't your flag, is it?

"Shortly after entering office in 2019, Fried's office redesigned the Department of Agricultures certified gas-pump stickers, which verify to customers the gas pump has been approved by the state. Previous Agriculture Commissioners had put their own names on the stickers for decades, but Fried was the first to put a color photograph of herself smiling on the sticker." Nikki Fried, Nikki Haley. She doesn't get to make that decision. Rush was truly a Great American, standing fearlessly and proclaiming what millions of Americans believed. He deserves honor. Unfortunately, lowering the flag is an insufficient tribute these days. It is rare that we travel the countryside and see flags flying at full staff. It is seldom that we know who or what is being honored when we observe that the flag is lowered. Sad. Our flag was meant to fly high and proud, to salute extraordinary, nationally known patriots as deference to their courage and sacrifice.

ATLANTA—The Georgia Senate on Tuesday pushed through the first batch of what could be a raft of restrictive voting measures Republican lawmakers say will safeguard voting but Democrats decry as based on a lie and aimed at overturning their party's recent electoral success in Georgia. The most important measure passed was Senate Bill 67, which carried on a largely party-line 35-18 vote. It would require that a voter include their driver’s license number, other state identification number or a photocopy of an approved ID when applying for an absentee ballot. That would replace the current process of signature verification, one of the key elements former President Donald Trump and others attacked
