Nikki Haley just got burned, playing the old

Nikki Haley appears to have discarded her political career by faithfully following what establishment insiders and political "experts" have believed and taught for decades. The former South Carolina governor and U.N. ambassador seems genuinely baffled that former President Donald Trump refused to meet with her after Haley very publicly trashed Trump.
Isn't that simply how the game is played? Well, yes. Haley is doing things correctly the way they used to be done. You posture for the media, distance yourself from any controversy, then later patch it up after the storm blows past.

The big problem I see with reforming the Republican Party from within and taking out Rinos in the primaries is that all of the MAGA army are not Republican and never will be. No way am I joining the Republican Party and and I’m sure as hell not giving them any money. So unless we get serious and form a New Party, what are we to do?

I always looked at the old game as confirmation that Democrats and Republicans were the same beast by another name. I kept hoping, and kept being disappointed. If it weren't for Rush and now Trump, I might have played that game forever. Two very different men in very different fields, but who loved "America, the Promise of Liberty".
I will not return to those days past where my candidate could promise my deepest desires, then turn away and claim, "There wasn't enough support" or "We'll get it, next time.", and meanwhile the country slid deeper and deeper into abject serfdom. If the people in government think I am their slave, i am perfectly willing to argue the point over the barrel of a gun. The Tree of Liberty, is a concept I understand and approve of.
The Swamp of Democrats and Dectiptigon GOPers have labeled themselves pretty clearly as the enemy. And to those who say, "But half the country disagrees..." Everyone eventually makes for good fertilizer.

The entire Washington Beltway has failed to understand why Trump was, and is, so popular with conservatives. They think we joined a giant Trump cult and if they can just manage to deprogram us we will come to our senses. It was never about Trump. It was about what he stood for, what he believed in, and what he did. It was about being proud to be American and declaring our sovereignty from world governments. It was about protecting our borders. It was about becoming energy independent so we don’t have to send our military to die for oil. The Democrats oppose all of this. That’s it in a nutshell. Republicans beware. We aren’t going anywhere and we are mad as hell.

Nikki Haley has discovered the new normal for Conservatives: No more games with the truth, no more violating Conservative principles in favor of the uniparty, and no more disregard for constituents!
Being rebuffed by President Trump sends a clear message Nikki. You are toast!

Not long ago I would have supported her. Now I'm a never-Nikkier. Same with John Thune, who is even more disappointing. I thought these people, and some others, actually had character. Seems, instead, they're just "me too" politicians. We REALLY need term limits!

Just choose 'a side' and stick with it instead of working to be everybody's darling. That's a sure sign of pandering so everybody will love you - then 'nobody' knows what you stand for. Just one of the many things to like about Trump.

An argument could be made that sweet Nikki kicked off the blm movement when she decided to take down the Confederate Battle Flag from the S. Carolina capital. That got the ball rolling on tearing down Confederate monuments and has, as expected, moved on to tearing down monuments of Lincoln.

Amen, Mr. Mosely!
As to George McClellan, one of his fellow officers once said of him, “He’s the only man I’ve ever met who can strut while sitting down”.
Sounds just like most of Washington, DC doesn’t it?

I felt safe with Trump as President. I believe he had our back. I believe he understands that the middle class, small businesses, are the backbone of America. He, like Rush Limbaugh, believed in the opportunity for success for all Americans, and that once obstacles are removed, people could have that chance to succeed. He is steadfast in his beliefs, never changing because of politics. America first. People like Haley and McConnell, Thune and the rest of the cowards don’t understand morals, ethics, or integrity since they are devoid of these important characteristics. God, I miss Trump.

Nikki Haley was probably done when she attacked Trump, BUT there is a chance that if she had followed up that attack with reasoned and continued fight to show how she believed that Trump had betrayed his base, she might have had a chance. I have seen conservatives who were (and maybe still are) Trump supporters float the idea that the way Trump fought the election fraud was designed to lose (they offered three explanations for what they saw as a flawed strategy: Trump wanted to lose, some of his key advisers wanted him to lose and convinced him to follow a flawed strategy, some of his key advisers had lost their "edge" with age and no longer had the savvy to recognize that the strategy was flawed. The author made the case for each of those and stated that there was not enough evidence to reach a conclusion).
Now to make that argument, one would need to argue that Trump wanted to lose the election and worked to discredit his base by the way in which he fought the election fraud. I don't think there is enough evidence to make that case, but someone who fought both Trump and the establishment on that basis could possibly win. The key however, is that they must be willing to fight on behalf of those who support Trump. Nikki Haley wanted to push Trump supporters aside.

just goes to show that the smartest person in the crowd doesn't always pick the best apple from the tree. she shot herself in the foot with a 12 gauge. good bye foot, good bye political aspirations. maybe MAGA is another form of the Tea Party, which I totally believed in, and was unhappy when its demise was imminent, but then again nothing is forever and everything is temporary. our President will lead us, once again, to the normalcy we had for 4 years. he united EVERYBODY except those who were unwilling to listen to his message. he truly is a man of the people.

Nikki got what was coming to her and there is very little sympathy being wasted out here. The majority of republicans who will soon feel the wrath of Donald Trump do not even realize it yet so the near future is going to bring a lot of entertainment along with our pain. Watching McConnell implode will be particularly satisfying.
A third party is now our only option and the chances of its success will beat past odds if Donald Trump is leading it. The old GOP can not be salvaged because it carries way too much smelly history and baggage from working against the American people.

I have never trusted Haley, and nothing that she does will make me trust her in the future. She's a corruptocrat, in politics for personal gain, and willing to do whatever it takes to get ahead. She doesn't revere the Constitution or the country as founded. I'm sure her view is that America is just a place she where she lives, random chance, nothing special.
Go away Nikki, nobody wants you around.

Not sure about another party... think countries who have multiple parties never get the best candidate elected... kind of a 'divide and conquer' thing for the hungriest-hyena party. Was pleased President Trump rebuffed Haley's overture... he stays true! Hope every 'my-own-career-first' pol gets even more outed and defeated. Message to RNC: Will only contribute to candidates who put America First... nothing to be spread among the traitors(PJT has given us a much better idea of who they are).

Nikki Haley was teetering on the cliff's edge of oblivion when she started the whole attack on American history and historic figures. She should be in a political wasteland forever for starting that.
She, along with Kamela, may have been legally born here, but in no way that counts with patriots are either of these politicians American in the heart, or the soul. I consider them both as ineligible to be president, simply for the behavior that both have shown in supporting Antifa(Harris) to tearing down our history(Haley). Someday we as a nation are going to have to decide if people like these two women are eligible, because they sure have no loyalty to the country they were born in. Same with Foam Boy Rubio as well.
These children of recent immigrants prove the no magic dirt theory, for it takes more than just being born here and a piece of paper to be American. It takes a heart and mind that loves a nation, not just taking advantage of financial opportunities.

Okay. I agree with all or most of the comments above concerning Nikki Haley's distasteful shopping-for-approval-from-everyone behavior. She turned on Trump--publicly--and he refuses to let her use him as a tool to leverage herself back into our good graces.
My addition: I feel the same way about Pence. Trump may be a little forgiving of Pence, but Pence isn't going anywhere politically, and his shortsightedness in choosing to cling to McConnell over Donald John Trump and all of us who recognize vote fraud when we see it was foolish and disloyal.

One party, two party, third party, who cares. TERM LIMITS !! I don't trust any politician to keep their word. The only one elected in my lifetime to consistently keep their word and promises was President Donald John Trump. Thank God for his precious gift to us. We now know what is possible.

Gov. Haley, you should have read his book. He clearly states how he operates and what he values. I'm disappointed that you weren't smarter than that.
Having read his book myself, I look forward to all the dirt DJT currently has and will dig up on all those who think they're immune from that same treatment they gave and continue to give him. The Jim Acosta's of the world think they're bulletproof from scrutiny, public humiliation, and professional disgrace. It ain't so kiddies and when it happens, remember that you brought it on yourself.

They're so used to thinking we're still blind to who they are. They don't realize how much they've exposed themselves in the last year or more. We're done with their kind, but they don't know it. Especially since PDT is still allowing lindsey to get in his ear. He needs to wake up to that one pdq, unless he's taken to playing lindsey.

#3 - I disagree, slightly, in that the entire Beltway crowd - both Republicans and democrat-communists - knows exactly why Trump won. They're frightened of we the people and are determined to never allow a man of the people to win - even run - again.

Look, not every Governor is Presidential material. We still need experienced people to fill Cabinet positions. She did okay at the UN, so I'd keep in on the list for State or Labor.

Somehow, whenever I see RINO behavior, I'm reminded of a John Adams line from the Musical 1776, when he's chastising a fellow Congress critter: "You hang to the rear of every issue so that if we should go under you'll still remain afloat--"

The members of the GOPe fail to understand that President Trump is more mafioso than kissie-face. If you turn on him, he will either take you on a figurative boat ride or you will find a horse's head on your political bed. Either way, you are politically dead, not only to him, but also to his base!
