Nielsen Media Research has added a new dimension to its systems of tracking TV programming and the viewers who are tuning in. The organization has launched Gracenote Inclusion Analytics, a new division set to deliver “unprecedented visibility into the gender, race, ethnicity and sexual orientation of talent appearing in TV programming and the audiences watching it,” the company said in a statement released Thursday. “The new solution empowers content creators, owners, distributors and advertisers with much-needed data around on-screen diversity and representation to enable more inclusive content,” Nielsen said. The new company will “accelerate diversity transformation in Hollywood,” the company noted.

This is good news.
Saves me a lot of work.
Although they’re probably tracking mostly ‘Nets and their signals don’t reach my house.

So far I stopped watching one of my formerly favorite shows when they replaced a good female star with a lesbian character. I am getting very close to dropping another due to the recent replacement of a nice, normal white female with a Muslim, and the addition of another black character. And they spend way too much time talking about racial issues, not solving crimes.
Screw all these Hollyweird leftists. I do still have a channel changer, and have and will use it.

Ever wondered how Nielsen calculates its ratings?
The Nielsen ratings are calculated based on a sample of 40,000 homes and about 100,000 people that's demographically representative of the population as a whole. It's a small fraction of the 120 million or so homes with TV, but also a lot more than, say, a typical political poll that surveys just a couple thousand people.
Rating: Ratings are essentially percentages, measuring the portion of a given group — be it households, adults 18-49 or women 25-54 — watching a given show. Adults 18-49 is the primary demographic by which ad rates are set for entertainment programming, so it's the most commonly reported (one point in that demo equals 1.28 million people). So a 2.0 rating for The Masked Singer means that 2 percent of people in that age range, roughly 2.56 million people, watched the show.

It will be interesting to see the inexorable decline in the numbers of white actors appearing on screen.

I can save them a lot of time and money. It's almost all women, black is preferred unless it's one of those home shows, then it's almost all gay and lesbian couples, in which case the ethnicity and gender doesn't matter. As long as they're gay, it's good. As for commercials, every one has a mixed race couple with supposedly mixed race kids, however, the kids always look black, and as usual, no matter what the race, the man is always clueless and an idiot. There, I saved them a lot of time and money.

I would hope that at some point they would realize that we are fed up with forced diversity - every series, whether comedy (now quite unfunny) to crime procedurals has to have actor/characters according to racial/ethnic quotas. And the force-feeding of political issues and liberal propaganda is so transparent. No one is fooled unless they have an IQ in single digits. Most all commercials are now focused on and performed by black persons. I no longer have to think about buying a luxury car or home or a certain cereal or body care product. They are not intended for me. Whew! That’s a relief… I can just >> by them or mute them or turn the whole darned thing off.

Has anyone noticed how many mix race couples are in commercials these days. Don't get wrong, I believe in loving who you love. I just don't want it shoved in my face all the time.

TV is a indoctrination machine. Authors should write their stories, not policymakers. Viewers should decide if they like what the creators have created, not TV monitors. They call that a free society.

If TV should look like America than Blacks should be capped at around 12 % in TV programs and commercials. A friend of mine from Europe, based on what he sees on TV, thought the US was about 50-60% Black.

I believe they can track viewership by cable. They can remotely access and add or remove channels day or night. I think they can count the viewership of programs. That is why I never click on CNN, MSNBC and no longer Fox. I do not want to give them a viewer count. The Hallmark channel is on shaky ground with me. I have had to tune out multiple times recently.

The new company will “accelerate diversity transformation in Hollywood,”
As fast as ALL television shows in America are pushing gender dysphoria and homosexuality in their casts, how can they track "gender, race, ethnicity and sexual orientation of talent"? You can't watch a show without at least one gay and/or trans character in the major troop and more in the background characters.

Diversity has destroyed this country. Haven't been to a movie in over 20 years and Its the reason I stopped watching most tv shows. I even dvr anything I watch so I can then fast forward past all the commercials. The commercials are a disaster. Every commercial looks like it was taped at the U.N. where there's one from every country. Think about it, the only people you don't see in a commercial are midgets. You never see a midget in a commercial. That's a problem and it should be the first thing they fix. Got it

Now that it's de rigueur for every show to have as many homos and trans-benders as they can stuff into the cast, my tv entertainment choices are few. For shows that I still do care to watch, minus the perversion, I simply fast forward through those *tender moments*. I suppose at some point the fast forwarding will be disabled or even illegal.

TV has become so "inclusive" that they are including all sorts of characters that I have never seen in real life. All the Captains and Chiefs and Managers are blacks, because they are such good managers and executive types. Most of the characters on commercials are black, mixed race or gay. It's very diverse, inclusive, and completely false. Apparently the companies that pay for all this don't care to appeal to ordinary Americans any longer, and so we are tuning out, tuning off, and finding other sources of entertainment. They can all sit around in a circle and entertain themselves.

I think Hallmark has gone over to the dark side when it comes to clean, wholesome entertainment. They are pushing a false premise that company owners, managers, and supervisory personnel are either black, homosexual, or ignorant whites who can't pour that yellow stuff out of a boot. At what point did it become mandatory to put mixed race marriages in your face. Hallmark has lost its way and after being cooped up at home with nothing to do but watch TV, my favorite channel has turned out to be nothing less than a propaganda outlet for a false narrative. I've got three or four Hallmark movies recorded that I simply can't watch because I've had enough of this propaganda they are trying to pass as entertainment. Executives making these programming decisions personify the Peter Principle and are quickly destroying their viewing base. Either that are they are doing it with malice aforethought. You know, tell a lie often enough and long enough and it becomes truth.
