Big Tech’s efforts to restrict user access to various Internet platforms are a serious challenge, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with leaders of parliamentary factions on Wednesday.
He responded to the recent statements made by Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of the State Duma (lower house), who put the spotlight on Big Tech’s violation of freedom of speech.
“What you said about these so-called platforms, IT companies, is a serious challenge not only for us – we see what has happened in the [United] States,” Putin noted. According to him, it is quite obvious that such an “ideological divide” runs throughout the world.
Russia values freedom of speech more than America.

Only Putin is allowed to censor people in Russia. Twitter, Fakebook, and YouTube trespassed on his turf. Its a turf war.

Drip, drip, drip... the "big socials" are losing entire nations as customers for their silly theatrics and censorship of conservative voices in the USA. First it was Australia, now Russia, and probably France will be next. Our stock market "short sellers" will be loving these clowns as much as GameStop before too long.

Putin, for what it is worth, has also said the Russia found out through experience that Communism and Socialism don’t work. If you watch the YouTube videos these days you will find that the young Russian generation does not have much good to say about the Soviet Union era in Russia, where if you made a joke about Stalin you ended up in Gulag or forced labor camp. It seems like most of those young Russians have American friends through social media and want to come to visit the USA. That can’t be all bad.

Number One, You stated Russia values Freedom of Speech more than America.
Republicans value Freedom of speech. Surely some Democrats must value it.
The political elite that belong to the Democrat party do not value Freedom of Speech.
The media only values it when it is on their side.
IMO It is the media which only stays in business by the value of Free Speech, that is killing Free Speech in our country. The Liberal media (which is most of it) certainly have an almost lock on the news and slant of the news that we receive

Think about it. Russia now has better laws against censorship than the USA. The world is indeed turned upside down.

All those who fought to defend and protect America since her inception are rolling in their graves and probably wondering why they so valiantly gave their lives for this country and its Declaration of Independence and Constitution when we are now becoming like the East German Stasi.

I would say that the young generation of Russians value freedom of speech more than ever, but that a lot of Russians are still hesitant to voice their opinions especially when it comes to politics.

Putin has more love of Mother Russia and its people and culture than Biden has for the USA, its culture, and people. I respect him for that. He was criticized by the mainstream media when he stated that if people wanted to integrate to Russia, they were expected to accept Russian customs and traditions--not to change them!

Russia knows what's up. They're also probably one of the few countries not bribed by big tech, unlike everywhere else. But many countries like Australia and India are starting to get pretty mad at big tech, so that's a good sign at least. Reign in Big Tech!
