Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume said Monday the Republican Party’s future lies in moving away from former President Donald Trump despite the fact that he remains wildly popular among the GOP base.During an appearance on “Special Report” with host Bret Baier, Hume said the “challenge” for Republicans “is to move away from Trump without alienating his supporters” after “many” of them “have concluded that they cannot win an election with Trump” following the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, which led to a second unprecedented impeachment.“He lost the last one and then he damaged his reputation terribly with his conduct after the election,” Hume claimed.

Hume used to be fairly astute. He has morphed into moronic. I have not seen Hume since November 3rd. He is on my do not watch list

Brit Hume assumes that because Biden received a record number of votes that he had a record number of voters. If that was true, then it would be a good plan to try to convince some of those record number of voters to vote the other way. However, anyone with eyes knows that Biden's record number of votes came from a remarkably small number of voters.

I wasn't a Trump fan when he got elected. But he changed my mind. Now I'm not a storm the Capitol insurgent like 73,999,999 other Trump voters. But I do believe that both current political parties hate me as much as the other 72,999,999 Trump voters. Kiss my Grits, Brit. Mitch and the others have nothing to offer me.

Every politician has to earn the votes. IF Trump wants back in he will have to do so on 2022 or in 2024. I love DJT but at the moment this is too soon to pick a horse in the horse race

Too late Brit. The GOP has already alienated their voters by:
* Attacking Sarah Palin led my the very same man that chose her as his running mate.
* Sitting back and allowing the Obama government illegally destroying the Tea Party with no repercussions ever.
* Failing to support Trump in any effective manner.
There is little left that the GOP can do to unalienate their voters. Since McCain vs Obama the GOP has been toast and was only rescued by the three entities mentioned above. And yet that's who Hume wants to get rid of.

How are you gonna split that baby, Brit?
I'll take Trump's side, because he is the only political figure that has not betrayed me, in my memory. He won the 2020 election, and Biden and his buddies stole it in plain sight. I will never believe otherwise.

Brit, you are too focused on your own navel. Or something.
We like Trump’s ideas and his fealty to those ideas. His ideas are big, bold and just, and his fealty to them makes him big, bold and just.
And thus worthy of admiration. Throw in that he has been persecuted for his ideas and ideals, and you have a very large personage.
Brit, you’re too busy triangulating at best, manipulating at worst (the most likely scenario). Your mythologies are not interesting. If you think they’re realities, we’re only interested in changing that reality. We don’t want to live in your mythologies or your imposed reality.

The formal GOP needs FPDT and his followers for credibility and money. The GOPe will never allow the "deplorables" to play in their sandbox. Hume is one of these. He's a respectable journalist, you know, an arbiter of good taste and breeding. One side or the other is going to have to either leave or accept the other in the lead. Place your bets...

How boring. If you insist on pontificating bring SOMETHING to the table. Crying about ways to fake out Republicans is something I'd expect from the average low info rat fan, but you get paid to be a 'smart' guy, so prove it. These observations of yours are just stupid by any measure. How willfully ignorant does someone have to be to walk by all the evidence and not question a bit of it. You used to be some kind of reporter, but now you are just another old man on his knees saying whatever they tell you to protect your paycheck. Didn't you save/invest any of your money, Brit? Ending a career this way is pathetic.

The GOPe is too busy condescending to the conservative base to listen to them or even recognize that they're the backbone of the party. Good luck winning an election without us, especially after you did NOTHING to fight the rampant voter fraud in 2020.

If any member of the GOP actually cared about this nation and/or read these comment sections, they would see it isn't that difficult to understand. When a Republican politician steps up and fights against the democrat's marxist cancel culture, isn't in bed with China, protects our borders, upholds the laws as written and makes policy that actually benefits the citizens of this country, they will earn our vote. Until then, Trump is the only game in town.

For some time now, Brit has had his head where the sun don't shine! "He doesn't believe his lyin' eyes!" Trump has changed the Republican Party and people like Brit Hume refuse to go along with it or admit it. We are done with RINO's, want nothing to do with Commie Democrrats, and want to move on. It's as simple as that

Fox thinks we in the audience are not very smart. I'm seeing this in several places by people who worked for Fox or those that comment on Fox.

FTA ... Hume then noted that both Trump and President Joe Biden drew record numbers of voters as he speculated that some Americans who cast ballots for Biden may swing back to the GOP if the 2024 nominee is someone other than “the highly controversial” former president.
What is this fascination with 2024 and presidential elections. We have 80 Million Trumps so 3rd party in congress. 30 house seats and 10 senate (or more) and Joe can't sign what they can't pass.
Screw the Uniparty or at least make them show themselves. The squad and friends won't survive.

Brit, going into 2012, I despised Trump.
It wasn't till much later, that I realized I had painted him with the brush of his media characterizations. As I watched him fight for the American People, and watched the results of his actions and the consequences of his proposals, i realized...
...this was what America has needed for over 100 years. At this point, Bret, and Brit, you cannot say anything that would make me abandon him. Take your mealy mouthed attitude and stuff it!!

I'm not interested in "moving away" from Donald Trump's America FIRST, or his Americans FIRST philosophy. We deserve nothing less from electeds who run on the pretext of "serving" us.
It was wonderful having a president who understood globalists and unelected bureaucrats working in secret were not accountable to the American people.
President Trump understood arranging for trade deals with the US required oversight by loyal Americans who did not seek to take advantage of the US.
He understood that globalists funding caravans of illegal aliens don't consider our best interests. They don't like Americans any more that Joe and the Democrats do. Hence, their pre-planned, organized displacement of Americans with imported poverty, criminals, and Covid19 from hot spots south of our border.
This is what Joe Biden promised to do to us. Hard to believe Americans voted for this kind of treatment. But we're told this is exactly what we wanted.
