Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) has proposed consolidating federal family benefits policies with a single benefit that delivers monthly payments made to families with children under the age of 17.The legislation, dubbed the Family Security Act, would provide $350 per month to families with a child under the age of 6, and $250 per month to families with a child under the age of 17. In total, a family could receive up to $4,200 per child under the age of six, and $3,000 per child older than six but younger than 17-years-old, every year. Payments could also start up to four months before a baby’s due date, according to his office.
That's better than the stimulus. So people with 14 kids and immigrants from the WI's with seven kids get the golden goose ?
Is he taking away their welfare ?
Where is this money coming from with millions unemployed and not paying taxes and businesses closing forever ?
The low income elderly have to follow Zeke Emmanuel's rule.

Just put it on the tab. Borrowing and spending our way to financial collapse. It will start out at $350 and go up from there. The guaranteed universal income has arrived courtesy of a real RINO.

Now you’re talking.
We’ve known he played for the other team (to use a really relevant term, albeit used a little differently). He’s been flirting with the other team forever.
NOW, he’s up to bat and swinging in style. But a good Communist, formerly Dimocrat, would suggest $350/month/CHILD.
Pierre needs to refine his math. But he’s off to a good start.
Next step: switch uniforms to make it official and be done with it.
Mo-ron.

This explains the 80% democrat approval rating that he has in Utah. He's a shoe-in for re-election if he isn't primaried.

Yeah, that mandatory tithing has to be given to that billion dollar secret slush fund for their rich inner circle at Mitt's "church."
Too many families of 4, 5 or 6 children have been begging off this last year over covid brokeness.
If you study new laws proposed in Utah you see a mastery in punishing the childless (non-Mormons) while rewarding big families.

I wonder what it’s like to be so driven for power that you have no morals or values. Must be an empty and scary place inside Romney’s soul.

Might serve as an incentive to some select “minority” groups to stop aborting their kids. Current welfare and breeding payments could make for a fairly comfortable life.

Yeah, that worked out well when it paid to have more and more kids. I remember it well. The Welfare moms popped one out every nine months. None of them had fathers in the home to support them! They had all the welfare available, health care, schools, food cards, and a nice check each month. The more kids, the more money!! We've seen that movie before!

This plan is going nowhere. Republicans will hate it because it involves free money. Democrats will hate it because it eliminates government programs like TANF and it is available to unborn children. Frankly, i love it. I'm tired of our money going to cover tax cuts for big corporations. These big companies take this money and then turn around and support Democrats. Screw them.

Little Mitt's still running for President - infuriated he lost and Trump did not. Voted for him once, but my disgust and contempt for him is only growing stronger. It's obvious he didn't 'fight' his opponent then with the same passion he's now using against the GOP. He's a pitiful excuse for a 'patriot' and needs to go away, get lost, jump off the planet. He's of no consequence or relevance - politically - to freedom-loving Americans. Everything he does, says or hopes to accomplish is 'all about Mitt'!

Delecto is a jackass. That money will nicely cover cell phone and Cable bills with enough left over for several gallons of wine. With "free" meals being serving by schools, the YMCA and other community programs all funded by various levels of government, nobody is going hungry these days.

I donate it to my church in cash... so no records from any archdiocese will be sent to the government... I feel empowered when I have control of my life... just as the constitution guaranteed.....

Can #6 prove that? My brother has six children; when someone asked him if they were Mormon, he answered no, we are just passionate Protestants.

The Democrats would be all for this--as long as all the other goodies in the tax code are preserved, like the earned income credit, the child tax credit, the SALT deduction (without limits). And anytime the government subsidizes something, it ends up being inflationary.

OK, only if you take away the Earned Income Tax Credit that gives many people free money every year when they file their taxes. Every year I am driven crazy when a person making $15,000.00 per year tells me they got $9000 back on their Federal taxes because of their kids and the EIC.
