The KGB cultivated Donald Trump as an asset for 40 years, and he proved a highly valuable asset in repeating anti-Western Russian propaganda in the United States, a former KGB operative told The Guardian.
Yuri Shvets is a key source in "American Kompromat," a new book detailing the decades-long relationship between Trump and Russia by the journalist Craig Unger.

Russia, where abortions were first performed, and Trump, the most pro-life President we have had (through his policies and his attendance at the March for Life and I know his wife is pro-life as well) - somehow I do not see any alliance going on there. Besides, "KGB told the GUARDIAN' - I trust neither.

Trump as an asset didn't work out to well for him did it? And exactly what were they planning to do for Trump?
Let him build a hotel in Russia? Seems like that would have been their best first move. But they didn't do that. And if Trump was an asset then why did they sit back and make no emphatic denial of the Russia Hoax? Not a good way to develop an asset by screwing him over. But a good way to support those that actually were their assets.
Truth is Biden and Hillary were their best assets. With Obama not far behind.
As a "friend" of Russia, Trump made the US energy independent by driving the international cost of oil/gas down which trashed the Russian economy. Trump did many things in foreign policy that were contrary to the interests of the Russians. Meanwhile Obama, Hillary, and now Biden have remained in the Russians pockets doing everything for them. Biden is just getting started by driving up the price of oil/gas. And Hillary and Biden have already been paid many dollars.

Oh, yes. Trump armed the Ukraine to defend itself from a Russian invasion because he is a Russian stooge.
And then he forced the NATO countries to live up to their 2% of GDP spending towards NATO defense of Europe against Russian attack.
And then he had his US troops kill almost 300 Russian mercenaries embedded in Assad's Syrian army.
And, finally, he ramped up oil and gas production and fracking to make the US a net exporter of petroleum in competition with Russia and OPEC, driving the prices down, and choking Russia's economy.
Yes, truly Donald Trump is a Russian asset and Putin's sock puppet

Sounds like a failed ploy by the Russians. The question that should be asked is where was US Counterintelligence when the Russians were attempting to “cultivate” and influence US businesspeople who were conducting illegitimate and legal business opportunities in Russia for all those years?
The only thing that I have ever heard from Trump about Russia is when he said from time to time that it would benefit both Russia and the USA to have better bilateral relations.

From a WaPo review of this book:
Unger’s narrative of collusion relies on piling up any and all damning information he can muster. However, in some cases, the very volume of information undercuts the strength of his argument. Trump’s presidency was such a ruinous fiasco, it is tempting to keep adding inexplicable actions to the pile. However, the tangential material often confuses more than clarifies. Chapters on William Barr, the Catholic Opus Dei sect, Robert Maxwell, Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein are interesting but do little to illuminate Trump’s perfidy. For example, Unger ties Barr to FBI traitor Robert Hanssen, suggesting that Hanssen was promoted while Barr was the attorney general in the George H.W. Bush administration. Anyone with experience in government would be hard-pressed to explain how a mid-level FBI promotion of someone not yet suspected of a crime would be of interest to the attorney general.
Further, Unger relies on relatively few sources, and none with direct access to Trump or present-day Russia. Shvets and Oleg Kalugin, his sources on Russian intelligence methodology, were celebrated KGB officers but left Russia in the late 1980s and have no direct knowledge of Trump’s contacts with Russian officials. They provide interesting context and color, but Unger would have benefited from a wider variety of sources.

Unger has sold out to those who have it in for President Trump.

Of course, this is obviously a ploy to sell books. I don't believe a word of it. But you know the DemonRats will have a field day with this... It doesn't matter that Trump was tough as hell on Russia and put more sanctions on them than his predecessors. Or that Trump put America First in all his foreign policies. And just forget that Biden just gave away the whole store to Putin with START3....nooooo, Trump is the bad orange Russian "asset". WHY? Because the DemonRats SAY so and now some guy wants to sell a book. I wonder how much he is being paid to say this garbage.
