Acclaimed historians are hitting out at a chairman in charge of renaming 44 San Francisco schools after it was revealed that he refused to consult with them during the decision-making process and his research was based on information he found on Wikipedia.
Earlier this week, the San Francisco Board of Education voted 6-1 to strip 44 public schools of their current monikers because they honor 'racist' figures from American history. Schools named after politicians including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln are now set to be rebranded in the coming months.

Its a sad day in America, when we can not appreciate the success of our ancestors in the context of the time THEY were living.

As the year 2000 appeared I was asked by the Feds to apply for a federal job in San Francisco (for a lot of money). Because it was in San Francisco (among other problems - like California, traffic, anti-gun laws, Liberals, etc, etc, etc.), I stayed put.

Here we have one black activist dictating that a city of 800,000 change school names some of which date back a century. At what point will the majority weary of bowing to the demands of a tiny slice of a racial group that is 13 percent of the population? The black population of San Francisco is 5 percent and shrinking. Of them I am sure few want to erase the names of the schools they attended.

Despite the name, Jeremiah Jeffries is definitely Not Amish, which means he probably believes in afrocentric history. So he can name a school after Black Beethoven.

The driving force behind this is Jeremiah Jeffries, a black activist first grade teacher who came to San Francisco from Philadelphia. Read about his history. He is a “power broker”. A sample - there’s more in the article:
The man behind the renaming of 44 of San Francisco's schools is a first grade teacher who was influenced by his parents - both prominent members of the Nation of Islam - who set up their own Islamic school.
Jeremiah Jeffries, chairman of the renaming committee, revealed in an interview his mother told him 'There's nothing mysterious about progression. It's working instead of wishing.'
She and her husband set up the Sister Clara Muhammad School that serve a predominately African-American Muslim population.
The Nation of Islam, which is defined as an organized hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center for its racist, anti-Semitic and anti-gay teachings and rhetoric of black superiority over whites.
Jeffries also led San Francisco's largest school boycott when he encouraged 200 families to send their children to protest the closure of a school, rather then to lessons in 2006.

My question:
How to these activists like Jeffries get so much power? Who hands it to them?

For a picture of an asshat in the dictionary, that of Mr. Jeffries would be perfect.

This is what happens when good people shut up and sit down to avoid conflict. I'm not only talking about this nonsense, but for decades of realtive silence, much in the mistaken idea that saner minds will prevail, that the lies and distortions will be exposed and people will wake up. Well, none of that happened. And here we are...wondering what comes next in this vortex of bullshtuff we call "The Land of the Free" while waiting for a figurative Dorothy to crash her house on the wicked witch and her flying monkeys.

Where are these woke educaters when you need them. Yale University is named after a man who worked for the East India Company.and while employed by them he swindled his own customers. He also was quite heavily involved with the slave trade. Obviously those who have graduated from this bastion of higher learning have turned a blind eye to the history of Yale's namesake Elihu Yale. So easy for the elites to forget their own history.

Of course rename them after Sharpton, Waters, Obama’s, AOC, Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, and all of the rest of the Black slave owners of today.

Wikipedia is not to be trusted. It's heavily biased. If you're a " woke" racist" it's perfect for you.

If the school district is can afford wasteful idiocy like this, then they can cut their mil rate and send some of that money back to the taxpayers.
