Several members of Congress wrote to House leadership on Thursday, asking for the flexibility and funds to hire armed guards and upgrade security measures in their districts as they are terrified of threats against them.'Reflecting the tense and troubling times we live in, Members of Congress have reported receiving a significant uptick in threats of violence and even death,' states the letter, a copy of which was obtained by DailyMail.com.The lawmakers ask for greater flexibility to use their taxpayer-funded office expenses for security measures at their homes - which would presumably include items such as bullet proof glass and alarms - in addition for personal guards

I don't think our money should go towards their protection. We don't get to use other people's money to protect us from Antifa and BLM rioters and looters.

They know that they are criminals, and they know that they are traitors, and they know that we know. This scares the hell out of them. Maybe they had better consider how they vote and how they get elected, one more time.

Hey IDIOTS - make DC allow the 2A, carry a gun and protect yourself, currently it is a felony to own a firearm in DC.

Government works for the people when said government is afraid of the people. When it feels safe, the people aren't being represented. That aside, our elected officials have a long reputation for corruption, legislating against the people and pitting one group against another group to keep the corrupt gravy train rolling. They have created safe districts to ensure party control with only a small percentage of elected positions actually being competitive.
So.....They get zero sympathy from me.
If ya'll want to feel safe again, dial back the rhetoric, be truthful. including the media, and legislate for the good of the country.
When the party in power disregards, minimizes sidelines, threatens and silences the people from the opposition, these are the inevitable consequences. I'm not advocating violence or threats, but people who feel victimized will only tolerate it for so long.
Stop being Schumers.

Most of the threat is contained in their fevered brains. Fake news. I would not waste my time on any Democrat in or out of Congress! I believe all of this has been promoted by Ms. Nancy herself.

Republicans suffer bigger risks from leftists. I don't remember anyone on the left going to jail for doxing a Republican or any punishment for threatening Republicans in restaurants or their homes.

Are they afraid? Boo Hoo. Since March they said NOTHING about the destruction in America's cities. Not a mention during their virtual "convention." They did defend it, and they raised money to bail out arsonists, vandals thugs and criminals.
Now they're afraid? Except for the undercover BLM and Antifa "plants" no genuine Trump supporter posed any real threat to their lives. I really wish someone would play the 911 recordings of the people cowering in their home and businesses pleading for the police. I remember a person trapped in their burning restaurant begging for help. There was a woman in her car, with her kids, under attack by thugs. The dispatcher told her that she could do nothing because the thugs had a permit! When the woman continued to beg for help, she was told to call city hall. Imagine people beating your car and breaking your windows while you and your terrified children scream?? THAT is terror.
For us it's "defund the police. THEY need fences, razor wire, and 25,000 armed military to protect their sorry selves. " After all we can't possibly function without the guidance of our magnificent, benevolent, all knowing Congress.

This is the next step in "Trump hit piece" articles. They continue to paint all people who voted for the President as prowling the streets with machine guns and loikng for those traitors who stole the election. I am reminded that the only congressman shot so far was s Republican.

Not all all factual, #6.
Firearms ownership has always been legal in DC. For a while they required any gun kept in the home to be disassembled to prevent it's use in self defense. The Heller case overturned that and they were forced to have a concealed carry permit system. Very restrictive, of course, they throw every obstacle that they can in the way of gun owners, but there is no "felony to own a firearm in DC".

It is beyond aggravating that Pelosi and her followers are now demanding protection when the shooting of Steve Scalise by a crazed Sanders supporter was ignored. Now they want protection even at their homes? Why didn't the shooting and serious injury of Scalise prompt this?
