A Justice Department watchdog has opened an investigation into whether any current or former officials tried improperly to wield the powers of the department to undo the results of the presidential election.
The investigation, which was announced by the office of the inspector general, Michael E. Horowitz, followed a New York Times article that detailed efforts by Jeffrey Clark, the acting head of the Justice Department’s civil division, to push top leaders to falsely and publicly assert that ongoing election fraud investigations cast doubt on the Electoral College results. That standoff prompted President Donald J. Trump to consider replacing the acting attorney general at the time, Jeffrey A. Rosen, and install

Bring it on.
This will bite the Democrats in their anti-American hineys. The patriots will fight back. The Justice Department has given these patriots a forum to publicly air all of the election irregularities.

The Obama administration and its holdovers tried to overturn the 2016 election with the Russia hoax. Will that be investigated? What ever happened to the Durham probe?

Any chance they are talking about the 2016 election? Are they looking into Clinton, Clapper or Comey? Fusion GPS, #Resist, #NotMyPresident, State Department officials attempting to incriminate the president by passing false documents to the FBI? Will the checkout leaks to news outlets leading to false stores about a sitting president colluding with the Kremlin? Didn’t think so...

God forbid our worthless DOJ even bother to look at the massive voter fraud that occurred in this election. Instead, it is much more important that they start investigating those Senators and Reps who actually stood up to defend the requirement of free and fair elections.

Durham probe? Durham was as much a cardboard cutout as that Huber guy over in Utah.
Yeah, they got some low-level flunky lawyer to plead guilty (wink, wink, nod, nod) and he'll get a stern warning and a nice deep state funded non-government job to thank him for taking the rap.
President Trump dropped the ball on one thing. He should have aggressively released, without redactions, many of these documents pertaining to the Russia Collusion Hoax, the Impeachment Hoax, the persecutions of Herr Mueller and his Swamp Gestapo and the actions of the Clinton and Biden crime families. And it should have started the day AFTER Mueller's Gang of Thieves closed up their shop. That binder of black ink splotches that he left on his way out the door last Wednesday didn't cut it.

So now any inquiry into whether votes were properly cast and accurately recorded and tabulated is "overturning the results of an election." Nonsense. It is assuring that the actual results of the election, the will of actual voters, has not been overturned by fake ballots and dishonest tabulation.
Perhaps if the Inspector General has time on his hands he could investigate why Bill Barr and Chistopher Wray suppressed the evidence in Hunter Biden's laptop while Senate was conducting an impeachment trial in which that evidence would have been relevant. Can you say "Obstruction of Justice?"

You mean the 4:00AM overturn of the resounding Trump victory? Of course not. And damnit all we lost the word game again, the Trump supporters never tried to "overturn" an election, only see to it that the legitimate outcome took place. We also let them apply the criteria of "proof" to the word "evidence." We always surrender the vocabulary. Even when we fight back it is on their terms.

The overturning of this election was by the Democrats. They viciously and criminally stole the 2020 presidential election from the American People and we would like to prove how they did. We have the receipts, the videos and the thousands of affidavits. By denying the American people this due process is admitting that they can't prove that they won the election. They have scarred our country with a deep wound that will never heal in our history. Rest assured, those who are involved in this heinous act of fraud will pay the price for it.

Not opened to reach any actual conclusion, just to allow for months and months of well-timed, out-of-context, narrative supporting leaks. The deep state is not just fighting back, they're kicking it up a notch.

You can do whatever - you will never convince me that the dems didn't steal this election. If it was a forthright election, there would be no ballots taken out from under a table after they told the Republicans to go home, they were finished counting for the night. That is probably a small voter cheat. Jeff Bezos doesn't want mail in ballots for the union coming in. He knows how this election was stolen. Creepy people.

This tactic is to stop any and all investigations; Court cases that would include 'Discovery', etc.
The swamp dwellers will say something to the effect: 'We can't divulge any information as the subject is under investigation by the IG'
In three or four years the IG will put out a 5000 page report with 'no intentional wrong doing' conclusion.

Judy (#34).... the Department of Just-Us doesn't care.
I read 2 or 3 sentences into the 'extract' then the lying style of wording tipped me off... I glanced at the byline, and sure enough is from the Lyin' Times.
I will not give them the 'click'.

“overturn the election” is the new meme. What will they do about all the evidence of fraud and improper practices, some of it from Dominion’s contract workers who witnessed it and testified about it? And the states that went against the Constitutional requirement that only state legislatures have power to set election rules? Do they plan to use up their four years with yet more witch hunts?
