Of the roughly 25,000 troops initially deployed to the Capitol for security on Inauguration Day, 15,000 of them are expected to return to their respective states this week. Guardsmembers from all of the US states and territories like

You don’t ask; you order. The fact they “ask” means the Guard Bureau knows the States are POd. Governors should bring them back ASAP.

I can think of at least 26 states (the ones with Republican governors) that are going to tell Lyin' Joe Biden to shove his request after how their National Guard troops were treated by the current faux president and his reign of incompetency!!!!

SC NG coming home this weekend; they should have never been there to begin with. Let only the blue states send their troops next time.

This is a charade. Pure Democrat theater using NG forces for partisan purposes. And after the NYT fired an Op Ed editor for letting Senator Cotton propose NG forces for Antifa riots in the cities, riots than continue today, denied by the same people misusing the NG. The gods are watching. And we're not smiling.

The national guard is being used as political pawns.
If this was a true call out of the guard, they would have brought all their support equipment and facilities.
Biden needed them, so he did not get embarrassed for having a small gathers of supporters for his swearing in.

Since I trust nothing Biden or Pelosi say or do, it occurred to me, reading the article and the comments, that the Red state governors may have cooperated in sending their state's Guardsmen in order to protect the Normal citizens, not only protect them from ANITFA/BLM but also protect them from the Blue state guardsmen, if they were given and were willing to carry out unlawful orders. Civil wars have started over much less and Washington, DC is as good a place as any to be ground zero in such a conflict.

they want them to stick around until after the impeachment trial. Schumer and McConnell better stop this mess before it gets out of hand. It's not going to end well.

It doesn't look like the Kentucky National Guards are coming home yet. Typical behavior from Governor Andy. We are a red state with a red all the offices but the governor.

If they make DC a state, they will have a permanent Praetorian Guard. Only Dems need to apply.

Gov. Abbot of Texas has recalled our Texas Guard. If your governor has recalled the troops, send an email or letter thanking them (I already have). If not, send an email asking why they were deployed if they were going to be treated like this (the "vetting", 12 hour shifts, garage time in 40 degree weather, and the like), and demanding they come back. It was ridiculous to have that many deploy in the first place. If DC wants to be a state, have them deploy their own damn guard and pay for it.

The perfect excuse not to go to DC, Joe's new law to pay unemployment if they are afraid of catching COVID, a very real possibility of sleeping in close quarters on a cement floor. I think Old Joe is quickly tying himself in knots, just like not being able to get back into the White House because he fired the guy with the key. Their new president is stupid and pathetic as well as illegitimate.
