Vice President Mike Pence is reportedly not expected to attend President Donald Trump’s military sendoff at Andrews Air Force Base on Tuesday, but he will attend President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, a source familiar with Pence’s plans told the Daily Caller.
The White House declined to comment on Pence’s travel plans. Pence choosing to attend Biden’s inauguration instead of the president’s farewell would be the culmination of the growing rift between the pair. (Snip) He is attending the inauguration later in the day, and aides say it would be logistically challenging for the vice president to do both,”

Mike Pence does not have the charisma necessary to follow our VSG as a presidential candidate. Even if he were loyal to the final moment, I would still not hold him up as the hope of the future for MAGA style politics.

A thousand likes for #9's comment. My comment re Mr. Pence: He knows which side his butter is breaded on. I know that's not the right way to say it, but it is the way I say it. He's one of them. It had to be uncomfortable for him for the last four years. I wonder if PDJT ever figured it out except at the last. He did at the last I know. OT, but while I have the floor....I think the republicans are just going on with business as usual, not realizing there is a big hornet's nest out here just waiting to explode. And it gets poked every day with the cancel crap, even for Franklin Graham, for pete's sake.

Don't make a big deal out of it until you know more. Maybe Trump and Pence made the decision early in November. One of them should be there and Pence drew the short straw.

VP Pence spent more than four years loyally supporting and promoting President Trump — without exception. I think he has earned the right to go where he chooses without getting slimed by those who have never come close to giving this country as much as he has.

This story is pretty trivial. Clearly an attempt to make Trump look bad. To keep the rumor going that there’s a rift between them. Who cares? PDJT would have had a hard time with a powerhouse VP. A train hitting a train. Pence was the perfect sideman, but not the strongest of late… He may have other ambitions. This door is closed. I never thought Karen was a fan of the Trumps, either, so that could be part of the dynamic as I believe he is strongly influenced by her.

What about dancing with the one that brung ya? Pence will never, ever get another vote from conservatives. But, it doesn't matter, does it? They do whatever they want and to hell with the voters. Ronna McDaniel - Romney's niece - voted in unanimously to continue running the Republican party. That alone should be a clue where the party is going. She has never done anything but work for her uncle and the Republican party. Let a young, know-nothing with no connections walk through the door and see if they are running the GOP with so little experience. I detest the nepotism in the party. What are we, an employment program for the relatives of politicians? Time to leave, folks. Register as an independent.
We need a new party and we need to start now to make a difference in the next election. Term limits, restrictions on 501c3 organizations associated with the politician or their family members, integrity of the election process. Decentralize the government. In this age of Zoom calls and high speed communication, senators and congressmen don't need to be located in DC. Let them go to DC twice a year for social gatherings but they can vote from their state and answer to their constituents. I may write an editorial about this.

Trump is from Queens. I worked in New York city. I worked with guys from Queens. You always knew exactly what they thought. Sometimes the information was delivered in a loud voice and was sometimes accompanied by bad words. I am pretty sure in his business dealings his staff followed his agenda (or else).
In Washington he was surrounded by really good liars. Experts at hiding their true agendas and at presenting false fronts. Or as one of my friends called them "back stabbers and butt kissers" (he didn't say butt).
Not sure he ever fully realized that.

These past four years have really opened my eyes. Politicians are not loyal to the common man. They are loyal to those who put them in office, and I do not mean those who voted for them, rather I mean those who supplied the monies to get them elected,
That is why the folks like Trump. They knew he could not be bought.

I’m astonished some posters think Pence had any intention of running in 2024 even if Biden hadn’t stolen this election. He has served his president and country honorably. May he enjoy his retirement.
I’m also astonished that some believe the certification process on the 6th could have ended any other way that it did. A vice-president’s role is ministerial. Any halt to the process would have needed a majority vote in both houses. That was never to be.
One of the sour notes in President Trump’s speech that horrible day was him saying Pence could do anything to halt or alter the certification. The Constitution says otherwise.

More and more colors keep coming out in the wash. By tomorrow, he will finally turn cowardly lily-white, and won't need to wave a white flag. Truly remarkable in the theater he mounted, and truly despicable to the very last day. The thing that infuriates me the most, is his claim to Christianity: people like this are a tool of the enemy to give Christianity a smear and a bad rap.
Good utter riddance.

#33 - "A vice-president’s role is ministerial. Any halt to the process would have needed a majority vote in both houses. That was never to be."
The Vice-president was the recipient of a letter from duly elected state senators requesting a delay in the Electoral College certification until their legislators could reconvene, look at the vote fraud evidence, debate and possibly change their state's certification. They only needed a few days. I, and many others, believe this request was of such import that it deserved to be presented to the combined body as to whether to grant such a suspension. Perhaps a majority vote in both houses was "never to be", but we will never know. We also will never know if the call for such a public vote would have given even a Swamp Rat to wanting to present him/herself as "reasonable". We also will never have a comprehensive list of traitors or patriots. It was in his power, even in a ministerial role, to bring the question to a vote.
I first became aware of Mike Pence because he was the only congressman to speak at the 9/12 March in D.C. back in '09. His courage is what I admired most this past decade. It is the loss of the opportunity that Pence threw away that stings so strongly.

#18,#20- The farewell at Andrews Air Force Base on Wednesday is an event President Trump planned; it is not the traditional Washington “military send-off.” Some conservatives perceive President Trump’s personally planned departure makes clear that he is not conceding the election by participating in a traditional "official" send-off.
#12,#35- From what has been reported through other sources, Vice President Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence will host Jill and Joe Biden for the “traditional coffee” transition event so the White House statement about being logistically challenging is worthy of credence.
#33- President Trump did NOT ask Vice President Pence to “decide the matter himself, but to pause the proceedings long enough to give the couple of states whose legislators had asked for more time to assess whether the illegal conduct by their state election officials (Snip) was sufficient to warrant revoking the existing certification and submitting a new one.” A precedent had been “set in 1960 when Hawaii’s certification was sent back and a revised one submitted that accurately reflected the vote.” Ldotter #36’s post is an eloquent, perceptive summation of the circumstances, and the decision made by Vice President Pence.
