Mexico’s president vows global

Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has vowed to lead an international fight against censorship by social media giants that have blocked President Trump from using his accounts. “I can tell you that at the first G20 meeting we have, I am going to make a proposal on this issue,” López Obrador said Thursday. “Yes, social media should not be used to incite violence and all that, but this cannot be used as a pretext to suspend freedom of expression.” Foreign Relations Secretary Marcelo Ebrard said the administration has already made contact with other governments to form a coalition over the issue.

Comments:

Obrador has more backbone than 95% of the sham Republican Party.

Agree with OP. And it’s interesting to see Merkel, who has not been a pal of Trump’s, come out against this censorship.

It has been fascinating watching foreign governments reacting to the social media censorship of the leader of the free world. They aren't stupid, unlike our democrats. They know if it can happen to Trump, it could certainly happen to them. In fact social media is already screaming about how they are being censored in Uganda, because they are trying to interfere in Ugandan elections coming up. Even Frau Merkel condemned Twitter after it happened. The EU is currently examining ways to tighten the access screws on social media to prevent them from messing with their governments. Could not happen to a better and more deserving bunch of elitist democrats. Only one who won't bother with them yet is China. China already has them on a leash.

Who would have thought foreign governments might not like American tech oligarchs influencing and even controlling their electorial processes? Outside of the US, that is illegal in many places. When they frog march these puffed up geeks away in cuffs like the mafia they are, I will have the champagne chilled and ready.

Careful there, Mr President. Big tech probably owns as huge a portion of the Mexican government as it does ours. Drugs aren't the only cartel.

So far France’s president Emanuel Macron, Germany’s Angela Merckel and President Obrador of Mexico have condemned Twitter for banning our president. I’m sure there are others. With the unholy alliance between big business and the Democrat Party the USA is rapidly descending into fascism, not communism.

It is surreal that Mexico is now having to school the United States on free expression and personal liberty. This where the woke left has brought us. Meanwhile, clueless people keep ruminating on whether "it could happen here" not realizing that it has already happened.

An internal Capitol Police intelligence report issued three days before the January 6 riot warned that 'Congress itself' could be the target of MAGA protesters. The report noted that Trump supporters saw January 6—the day that Biden's electoral college win would be certified by Congress—'as the last opportunity to overturn the results of the presidential election.' 'This sense of desperation and disappointment may lead to more of an incentive to become violent,' the report warned. It continued that the rioters' potential targets were 'not necessarily the counter-protesters as they were previously, but rather Congress itself.' Meanwhile, Capitol Police confirmed Friday

Memphis, Tenn.—The remains of General Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife are set to be removed from Health Sciences Park in Memphis soon. A controversial figure, Forrest’s statute was removed from Health Sciences Park in 2017, but his remains and those of his wife’s were not. Now years later, the family has agreed to move the remains to Columbia, Tennessee, the home of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Edward Phillips is the attorney representing the family. He said they were shocked when the statue was taken down, but has agreed to move the remains so they can put this all behind them.

China has come up with a new ice cream no one wants to try. During routine government testing recently, three samples from a northern China ice cream company came back positive for COVID-19. Officials now believe that 4,836 boxes of the ice cream may have been contaminated—more than half of which had already been distributed for sale when the test results came back, Sky News reported Friday. Only 2,089 boxes of ice cream could be confiscated in time, the report said. The ice cream was produced by the Tianjin Daqiaodao Food Company, where the 1,662 employees were tested Thursday, and were quarantining.

On one end, you hear voices harmonizing over centuries-old spirituals, blending into the earliest recordings of Delta blues. At the same time, the opening saxophone flourishes of John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme” beckon from the other side of the hall, while Ice Cube tears into the first bars of “Straight Outta Compton.”

Democrats are making extraordinary efforts to suppress all discussion of whether Joe Biden actually won the 2020 presidential election. In fact, they go even farther: they want to suppress all discussion of the extent to which voter fraud occurred. That naturally makes me want to write about voter fraud, and who really won the election. First, this question: why are the Democrats so hysterical in their insistence that fraud not be mentioned? One reason is obvious. Joe Biden will take office under a cloud, since close to half of all Americans doubt that he really won the election. The Democrats want to stamp out

The Capitol Police have over 2,000 sworn officers. A police force dedicated to protecting Capitol Hill has more personnel in its service than the police forces of most of the country. Congress' private cops are the 19th largest police force in the country. It’s a larger force than the police forces of Atlanta, Baltimore, Denver, or Milwaukee with a massive $460 million budget. It’s the only legislative federal force in the country that is answerable exclusively to Congress. While Democrats advocated defunding the police, their private police force budget shot up from $375 million in 2016 to $460 million in 2020. After the Capitol Hill riot, expect it to go higher. Much higher.

Before the Bidens arrive, deep cleaning is scheduled to take place in the White House and Jill Biden has plans for a million-dollar bathroom renovation in the East Wing. We are still in a pandemic so it’s reasonable that intense cleaning will happen as one group leaves and another moves into the White House. This year the cleaning that takes place during the transition between two administrations is more intense (and costly) than normally done.
