more cops are calling it quits,

The number of police officers retiring in Chicago and other cities has soared amid a chorus of anti-police rhetoric that’s become increasingly loud over the past year. In Chicago, 560 officers retired in 2020 in a police department that had about 13,100 sworn officers as of March, records show. That’s about 15% more cops retiring than during the previous year, when the number of retirements rose by nearly 30%. (Snip) The upswing in cop retirements in Chicago already is hurting the police pension system, according to Lappe. About 1,100 more people are now getting pensions than the number who are paying into the fund in Chicago, he said.

Simple - now just fill the vacancies with 'social workers' to defuse situations where cops might go in with guns a'blazin'. Alternatives like soothing words and non-threatening hand gestures. Also, be sure to tell the women to 'Calm Down". That'll work.

Equally troubling is that some of those who stay, will avoid false charges against them by avoiding troublesome cases. And that will spell trouble for Chicago.

#5 called it, as the old ones who remain and the new ones who join will do everything in their power NOT to police, meaning even if there are "enough" police, there will not be enough who will police. Amazing the difference between a noun and a verb.

From now on, thanks to Antifa and BLM, cities across the United States will lose experienced officers in droves, and they´ll be replaced (one hopes), only their replacements will be rookies. That´s real smart, lefties: hector, threaten, and dox thousands of experienced cops out of their jobs so that we get inexperienced and untried officers who will almost certainly not be as effective - nor as respectful of individual liberty, such as our First and Fourth Amendment protections. The country as a whole will be much worse off for this stunt. And, since Trump voters tend to be armed and better able to protect themselves, the lefty sheep who helped bring this about will be the ones who pay the price for this crime spree, very disproportionately. Suckers. BTW I wish the retiring officers a long and happy retirement. They damn well deserve it after the vicious abuse that´s been heaped on them, especially since Ferguson.

Many now are retired in place, meaning they only do what they have to do. In addition, every time in history where police were hired in large groups, very bad hires were made because of the rush to fill positions. People who would not be hired are now hired because they have no one else, so the standards are dropped. The bad cop hires cause havoc on the department as many turn to criminality. This is also going to be compounded by the apathy of the present officers who will not train their new charges properly because they stoped doing their job proactively when all this began. American cities will all be no-go zones.

The situation will get worse as Bitme's DOinJ assumes control. Kristen Clarke is on record as a proponent of defunding police. Sorry, but I just do not care about the big cities anymore. The vast majority of socialist and commies live and run the big cities. They have ruined America and they have no intention of backing off. I have enough trouble doing what I can to keep the Left out of my small town. I have no time or desire to care about what happens in the cesspool big city. Big cities are socialist in nature. Small communities are Libertarian in nature. I do not need to be around a bunch of people to feel at home. So for you that love city life, good for you and but please stay where you are. I am ashamed to even say I am originally from there. In many parts of town and since the police department is understaffed now, there are armed overweight rent-a-guards at grocery stores who look like they are armed with water pistols. My 83-year old aunt who lived in the Shiller Park neighborhood got robbed and beaten right in front of her own home in the middle of the day a few years ago. The female black attacker even said, "sorry, white ma'am, to beat the crap out of you and break your teeth for your purse, but, I'm in the middle of a gang initiation". It's that bad now.

There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred.
