U.S. Space Command is reportedly leaving Colorado Springs for Alabama in what Gov. Jared Polis is calling a "politically motivated" move by outgoing President Trump.
Polis in a statement said Trump overruled recommendations to keep Space Command in Colorado Springs, saying the president's decision was "deeply concerning."
U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colorado Springs, called the move a "horrendous decision" and saying it will "materially damage our national security." Lamborn vowed to fight the decision and said he sent a letter to President-elect Joe Biden, asking him to reverse the move.

Good, more jobs for Alabama. And if Dementia Joe thinks it might weaken America and therefore strengthen China he probably won't countermand the order.

Alabama has the Space Center in Huntsville. Pray tell, Mr. Goobernor: where in Colorado is the all-weather port from which you can ship (by barge) enormous sections of space vehicles to Cape Kennedy?

Exactly how this move matters in term of national security is ....
Now, anyone want to guesstimate the cost of this boondoggle?

Probably no one in CO can get security clearance because they are already 'higher than a kite'.
Houses in Csprings are priced for Kalifornians now.

Moving the Space Command would materially damage our national security, but blatantly rigged elections and a totally biased Marxist Unimedia are good for the republic. Why bother with any of it? Shut it all down and let the taxpayers waste their money on street drugs, prostitutes, and pornography.

Blatant political move, huh? Sucks, doesn't it?

Could be worse, Governor - he could have chosen DC. Speaking of which, very unfortunate that Trump won't be able to act on his plans to relocate the Ag Dept. and other cabinet-level bureaucracies from DC to the heartland.

I don't think it matters because Biden will kill the space command shortly after taking office.

LBJ put NASA in Houston when the logical spot would be right next to Cape Canaveral /Cape Kennedy. But he was President and coul ddo what he wanted. Same with Trump...and yes there is already a space presence in Alamaba.
Anything Trump can do to give the finger to all who screwed over America I say go for it.

Agree that Joe will likely kill Space Command, and steal GOBS of money from DOD. In any case, Jared: Eff You.

Maybe Lamborn should have been more vocal in his support for the President, instead of speaking up just last week. And maybe Jared Polis should realize that Space Command is probably better off not being based in a state governed by left-wing morons, including a socialist homosexual governor.

I have vacation home in southern Colorado for the last 30 years. The California folks gave wrecked the cities totally, and the rural areas are struggling to stay sane, slowly losing, sadly.

This is excellent news. Polis is an outright jerk and the Space Force needs to start making a clean break from the Air Force.

How can moving Space Command from CO to Arkansas possibly effect national security other than moving it to a red state from a blue state?

The usurper and the demons in congress will roll back everything the President has accomplished. What do you think those first 100 days will be about? Under President Trump, we were winning. Get ready to be perpetually losing.

Please Rep Lamborn, how will it damage national security removing this command from a liberal state? Once again, you have no idea what you are talking about.

FTA: Peterson Air Force Base last May was named a temporary headquarters for the command for at least six years,
Evidently Polis doesn't know the meaning of the word temporary.
