WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., wants a song about faith and resilience long revered in the Black community to become the national hymn and help toward uniting the country after centuries of racial turmoil. Clyburn, the House majority whip, plans to introduce a measure as early as this week that would make “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” known as the Black national anthem, the national hymn and give it a special place alongside the country’s anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner." “To make it a national hymn, I think, would be an act of bringing the country together. This is double speak and is decisive. Rather than unite and heal, it would divide and agitate.
Democrats are obsessed with identity politics and refuse to treat people as individuals.
All blacks do not think alike and all do not have a common experience. It's time to bury the victim card and focus on taking advantage of the same opportunities open to all Americans who want to accept personal responsibility and work hard to better themselves.

"Help heal?" No, all efforts along this line pour gasoline on the fires of anti-white racial hate that the black racists like Clyburn have lit in the black community.

This has nothing to do with “healing”. We have a national hymn (not the anthem). It’s called “God of Our Fathers”. Listen to it sung by a military chorus, people who understand its true meaning.

It's a beautiful hymn, and I would have no problem with it. It will not happen, however.
1. Clyburn has already prove himself to be a racist thug, and is proposing this only to bring attention to himself.
2. Democrats hate God or even a suggestion of God. They will find some way to either trash it, cancel it, or rewrite the lyrics to their philosophy.
3. These people have no interest in healing anything. If they were there would be no need for "Stop the Steal". This is like a violent home intruder patting the heads of the corpses as he leaves saying, "There, there."

I don't have an issue with changing the national anthem.
What I do have issues with are the reasons and selections.
My suggestion is for "The Battle Hym of the Republic"

Hey Dems, I've got an idea !!! Let's make Ukraine a 51st state with Governor Biden.

I have no doubt that if the coup is completed there will be a new national anthem and everyone will be forced to sing it. If you alter the words the people around you will report it and if you silently utter the wrong words, facial recognition lip readers will single you out.
We are rapidly heading into a world where supply lines and primeval truths will be the highest priority in a demonic world of cruelty. Brought to us by stupid people and cowards who swore an oath to fight for the freedoms many died for, but instead of fighting they only enriched themselves while selling us out.

Of course! There's nothing like destroying and/or replacing national treasures and symbols, the things which used to bind and unify, with new and "better", and putting the jack boot on everyone's neck and demanding acquiescence to unite and heal. Brilliant!! /s

You didn't build that Clyburn, at least not all by yourselves. The Star Spangled Banner was written to honor all those brave men, black and white who fought at Ft. McHenry and held up the flag pole, even if it meant their own deaths. So why are you wanting to dishonor those brave souls who made it possible for you to be such a C.weasel today?

Truth: I suspect fewer than 20% of Black Americans even know the title of this anthem. That's probably a way-too generous guess. Make it 8%.
Among those black folks who've who heard OF "Lift Every Voice," including the much tiner number who've actually HEARD it, I suspect those who've mastered the lyrics (see explanation below) are less than 2-3% of that population.
Black Americans have made truly brilliant, irreplaceable contributions to music. Ironically, this tune, which I actually have heard on several occasions, is around 75 verses long, and very much on the soporific side. Kinda like listening to a speech by one-note foghorn James Clyburn.
