President Trump acknowledged that he bears some blame for the Capitol riot last week during a conversation with House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, a source familiar told Fox News. Two sources say McCarthy R-Calif., relayed the president’s sentiment on a call Monday with the House GOP Conference.
McCarthy, on the call Monday with Republicans, agreed that Trump bore blame for the unrest which sent Congress into lockdown as they tried to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election last week.
The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The riot left five people dead, including one Capitol Police officer.

He may as well admit that it’s over. He’s losing support from Republicans and everything is stacked against him. He’s becoming a non-person. I’m just being realistic. As they used to say in Brooklyn, “Wait til next year!”

Some context would be helpful. I think the president did nothong wrong, and the shameful dems and their media arms are using tragedy for political gain. These cretins do not deserve the power they have.

Trump did nothing wrong but it's over anyway because as always the GOPe was intimidated by the MSM and turned tail when the fight started.
Primary everyone who didn't support him.

Trump's to blame. Had his security team disguise themselves as antifa thugs and took the congressman's laptops. Ha, ha. Good job Donald! I wonder what Nancy has on her laptop?

Re: Pelosi's laptop. I have been trying to find out if Lt. General Tom Mcinerney has any validity or is he just a blowhard. I have seen a video, just the other day, of him saying that Pelosi's laptop was taken by special ops forces and that she is panicking due to the loss. This isn't the first time I've seen him say things about the election, stating that the Democrats were committing sedition/treason. If he isn't telling the truth someone should tell him to keep quiet. We already have too many conspiracy theories going around to keep up with. Heck, on Sat. someone was reporting the air traffic/air space over DC, was because Pres. Trump signed the Insurrection Act, and he "left the building", that the military was in control of the US. Later heard someone say that PT was in Geneva. Sorry for the rant.

There they go with their baseless claim that there was no fraud in the election. Too nad there wont be a senate trial to air all the evidence of voter and election fraud. Especially since not one single court heard it.

The Republicans are reeling as the realization of the damage their siding with the Democrats on stealing the election from Trump and his voters is costing them. All of them, Dems and Republicans, have lost the consent of a significant number of the governed, and it is not something they will ever recover from.
The Republicans have become a non-entity.

Pure BS. Keep in mind that the left will be engaged in psychological warfare x1000 after they have engineered the greatest election theft in US history, followed by their fomenting violence at the Capitol Hill peaceful protest. And, #1, Trump never had “support from Republicans.” What happened over the last 2 months could NOT have happened without Republican complicity, on some level. If you mean that Trump’s base is turning on him, you are not one of them. Just being realistic.

The mostly peaceful demonstration did NOT "leave 5 people dead", that is a lie.
Four people in the area had "medical emergencies". Several of those have been clarified as fatal heart attacks, which are NOT any part of this event in any legitimate way. One of those medical emergencies was a Capitol officer, this has been clarified by even the Enemedia.
The ONE death was caused by an unknown shooter murdering an unarmed protester. We STILL do not know the name of this mystery assassin. THAT is not right. Where is the investigation of the murder? Why isn't this person in custody? If this person was actually a Capitol officer (I am beginning to doubt that this is true) WHY isn't there at least a "shooting investigation" going on? All LE agencies that I am familiar with have the "officer involved" off of duty and an investigation is carried out to get to the bottom of the facts associated with ANY discharge of the firearm, but especially any death caused by the officer.
WHAT THE HELL is going on in the coverup of the murder (assassination?) of Ashli Babbitt? Why are the Enemedia conflating unrelated heart attacks with this killing by some unknown shooter?

If anyone stoked this chaos at the Capitol, it was Mike Pence announcing he would not choose to send the electors back to the contested states. I know I was incensed here at home. He stabbed Pres. Trump in the back and will forever be Brutus.

Only if urging the people to come to Washington and make themselves heard (as in lawful assembly, freedom of speech) in support of honest elections is something to be “blamed”….

Shouldn’t John Roberts and the SCOTUS bear the blame? They did not act to prevent a fraudulent, unconstitutional national election. Some states went along with the fraud. The people noticed. Blame the President? No.

Here’s what the President has to say (and this is from the NYT):
President Trump on Tuesday showed no contrition or regret for instigating the mob that stormed the Capitol and threatened the lives of members of Congress and his vice president, saying that his remarks to a rally beforehand were “totally appropriate” and that the effort by Congress to impeach and convict him was “causing tremendous anger.”
Answering questions from reporters for the first time since the violence at the Capitol on Wednesday, the president sidestepped questions about his culpability in the deadly riot that shook the nation’s long tradition of peaceful transfers of power.
“People thought what I said was totally appropriate,” Mr. Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews, en route to Alamo, Texas, where he was set to visit the border wall. Instead, Mr. Trump claimed that racial justice protests over the summer were “the real problem.”
“If you look at what other people have said, politicians at a high level about the riots during the summer, the horrible riots in Portland and Seattle and various other places, that was a real problem,” he said.
So forget about Fox and its fake sources who probably faked what McCarthy said, too…
