U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., told "Fox & Friends" there is "no question" she will carry her Glock handgun in Washington, D.C., despite pushback from the chief of police.

Comments:

2A was very clearly written so we the people can keep and bear the same weapons the government (military) has so that “when government becomes destructive of those ends it is the right of the people to alter or abolish that government” it will be a fair fight.

She should follow Federal, and DC law when she is in DC. She is from Rifle, Colorado, where local gun laws are very different then in DC. If she does not follow DC law, the leftist and liberal Democrats in Congress will impeach her and remove her from Congress, as soon as she is found to have violated DC law and would be very happy to do that.

Pretty sure that a prior article stated that members of congress are not subject to concealed carry restrictions in DC and may carry if they so desire.

#9, that is a highly questionable claim. Many police chiefs are purely political appointees and do whatever the prevailing political winds tell them to do. I would agree with your claim if you said "county sheriffs", since they are directly elected, but even there, in the NE and Left Coast crazy zones, I'll bet that a lot of county sheriffs are elected by antigun folks and are therefore anti-gun. IIRC, the San Diego sheriff was against CCW, and SD is one of the more conservative areas of Cali, or at least used to be, perhaps not as much any more. The more rural the county, the higher the probability that the sheriff will be pro gun rights. I'll bet that essentially all police chiefs in the NE and Left Coast are against concealed carry.

FBI placed a warning of “armed protests” being planned at all 50 state capitols and Washington, D.C., on Inauguration Day. Security has been stepped up in Washington following last week’s violent riot at the U.S Capitol where a mob of pro-Trump supporters stormed the building to prevent Congress from certifying the election. Citing “credible threats” against the popular landmark, the National Park Service has shut down the Washington Monument. However, the riots that happened on Jan. 6 are still causing concerns about the safety of the capitol as well as accusations by some GOP members that wasn’t only Trump supporters that stormed the Capitol.

During an interview with CBS’s “60 Minutes,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) invoked Watergate and former President Richard Nixon as she discussed her push to impeach President Donald Trump. This comes in the wake of last week’s riots in which a group of Trump’s supporters breached the U.S. Capitol. Pelosi announced Sunday in a letter that the House of Representatives would move to impeach Trump just 10 days before his presidential term is over because he “represents an imminent threat” to “our Constitution and our Democracy.”

John Sullivan, a noted leftist leader from Utah, stormed the US Capitol with fellow activists on Wednesday. The mainstream media and the fact-checkers tried to protect him and claimed that he was there only to film the whole situation. Even far-left PolitiFact reviewed Sullivan’s video of the mob into the Capitol and Babbitt’s shooting. They say that it doesn’t show Sullivan clearly engaged in the violence or leading the run-up to the Capitol, although it does show him animated as he spoke with police and rioters from the frontlines.  CORRECTIONS*

President-elect Joe Biden said on Twitter Saturday that President Trump is "not above the law," after the House announced it would be bringing articles of impeachment on Monday. "Our president is not above the law," Biden wrote. "Justice serves the people — it doesn’t protect the powerful." But the president-elect has stopped short of calling for Trump’s impeachment. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., called on the president to "immediately" resign. She said alternatively, Vice President Mike Pence could invoke the 25th Amendment, or else she promised the president would be impeached in the House.   CORRECTION*

President Trump was impeached a second time by the US House of Representatives on Wednesday in a largely party-line vote that saw a handful of Republicans join Democrats to blame the outgoing commander-in-chief for sparking last week’s Capitol siege. The measure reached 217 “yea” votes shortly after 4:20 p.m. to make Trump the only president to be impeached twice. The final vote was 232-197, with 10 Republicans crossing party lines and four Republicans not voting when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif) announced around 4:35 p.m. No members of the GOP voted in 2019 to impeach Trump the first time.

As cases of the coronavirus continue to surge on a global scale, some of the nation’s most prominent people have begun to double up on masks — a move that researchers say is increasingly being backed up by data,” the paper writes.
