U.S. health care workers are first in line to receive the COVID-19 vaccine—but an alarming number across the country are refusing to do so. Earlier this week, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine disclosed that about 60 percent of the nursing home workers in his state have so far chosen not to get vaccinated. More than half of New York City’s EMS workers have shown skepticism, The Post reported last month. And now California and Texas are experiencing a high rate of health care worker refusals, according to reports. An estimated 50 percent of frontline workers in Riverside County in the Golden State opted against the drug,

I bet there's a 100% correlation between being in a union and refusing the vaccine. Buy hey, it's nice to know so many "health care" workers are putting their patients first.

#2 I bet there is not.
I dont blame them for refusing. Whatever it is that has been created has not been vetted properly. And the spectre of it someday being FORCED upon everyone regardless of its necessity or not is what drives a lot of people's reaction. In my view this COVID vaccine is the equivalent of Perry trying to make all Texan children take the ovarian cancer vaccine. Let me tell you, there was a LOT of pushback for that and now its merely a "suggestion" from the medical staff, left up to the parent to decide. That's how it should be with the COVID vaccine.
So let's get off the Karen pedestal, shall we? Have a Freedom Bar. You're not yourself when you're baaaa-ing.

Why would anyone take the vaccine if they thought they would likely survive the illness? Especially if there are side effects. Its the people most at risk that need a vaccine.

I’m 74. I’m a nurse. I work in surgery. Morning report last week, I said no to the vaccine. I don’t believe some of our fearless leaders are getting the vaccine. I think they’re getting sodium chloride solution. Just my guess.

I drive a Volunteer Ambulance I have run over 400 calls this year putting patients first does not mean I need to have the vaccination. It does mean I don't trust the vaccine and I damned sure don't trust the tests and I don't trust the 300,000 figure of alleged people who died of the disease. I have gone almost a year without getting a vaccination and I will wait a while until these people getting their shots start getting their 2nd/ shot and see what happens.

I’m a 65 y/o RN. I don’t wear a mask in public and I’m not getting Covid vaccine. I never get Flu either. I believe in vaccines but only if risk warrants it. For example, definitely believe in Shingles vaccine!

No problem. This just means there will be more vaccine available for those of us who really want it. I'm 88 y/o so it's urgent for me.

If you are less than 50 and healthy why would you get an experimental vaccine for a disease that has a survival rate of 99.8%????

I’m an RN and work in a hospital.
I’d prefer more studies and time. I don’t trust much about Covid info as it is. Obviously it’s a killer. But the government’s response to it has been haphazard, inconsistent and ambiguous. The confusion and misinformation creates distrust. Not necessarily of a nefarious nature (though one can’t rule that out), but of profound incompetence. Doesn’t engender a lot of confidence in the folks pushing it.
I’d prefer to wait. And I sure as heck have a problem with it being forced or a condition of employment, free movement or travel.

Dont want it, dont trust it and wont get it. Everything about this covid thing has been shady from day one. They have not told the truth about a single aspect of it, ever. Karens be damned. There will be a time when they force us to get it under threat of various punishments. When that time comes I will get counterfeit credentials. What I will not do is get in their boxcar.

I won't get it because of my extreme distrust of the CDC, Bill Gates and Faucci.
I don't take the annual flu vaccine either, and this will become an additional annual vaccine.
If I have to pay a bribe to get fake paperwork to fly to see my grandkids, I will do it.
Everyone else got a fake ID when they were too young to drink. I obeyed the law. But apparently law and order is over now.

I'm fascinated that nobody in the this thread has looked at the reasons for CDC prioritization of health-care workers for vaccination, CDC explicitly prioritized them over the elderly because the elderly are predominantly white and there is a disproportionate number of "minority" (read: black) health care workers. (Note that, as in crime reporting, the Post chastely avoids any demographic breakdown in this article.)
In other words, the CDC may be running up against pervasive Farrakhanite paranoia in the group they seek to flatter/prioritize. I don't doubt that some white workers don't want the vaccine, but where are the big numbers coming from.
I generally distrust government, but I find it hard to imagine that the vaccine is intended to poison us all. Perhaps the loonier Richard Spencer types of the Alt-RIght and the Farrakhanites could be calmed by the fact that Israel is vaccinating at a breakneck pace. They would find it harder to characterize the vaccine as a witting conspiracy without the Jews to blame . . .

Please let me preface this by saying I am a big believer in vaccines. I have taken most of them in my life (including a flu vaccine pretty much every year for decades), and most recently the shingles vaccines.
I am currently positive for Covid-19 and sitting home waiting for it to pass. No major symptoms, but I know I could wake up tomorrow with breathing problems and be dead by Monday.
All that said, I will not take this vaccine under any circumstances until I see the long term effects on the people taking it now. Nor will I ever support a bunch of government Gestapo agents trying to force citizens to take this vaccine to practice their basic Constitutional rights in the name of some "greater good for society".
Just keep reminding yourselves, even without a vaccine, this virus has killed less than 0.05% of the population of this country. That will never justify turning us into mandatory lab rats against our beliefs or ethics!!!!!

I've had the vaccine - prove that I haven't. And if you go against HIPAA laws to go scrounging around in my medical history and make it public, I'd like to go scrounging around to find out which women have had abortions over the last 20 years and make that public as well.

Having lived through measles (both types), chicken pox, and mumps as a child, I'm in favor of anything that can prevent such illnesses. Some new vaccines concern me - for example I know several healthy people who came down with shingles after taking the original shingles vaccine. Judging from the number of "did you get shingles after taking the shingles vaccine" commercials on daytime TV, apparently there are enough others for the ambulance-chasing lawyers to take notice. The COVID vaccine concerns me because it has been rushed to market very much like the swine flu vaccine during the Ford Administration that actually sickened more people than swine flu did. I'm content to let others be the test subjects for the next six months or so until we find out how effective it really is, and how severe the side effects are. Only then will I decide if I need to take it.

Biden would force them to be vaxxed.
He came out in favor of forcing retired health care workers back to work, whether they want to or not!
He's basically pro-slavery.

What's alarming is the number of people willing to submit without question to this unprecedented experimental vaccine. Allergic, inflammatory and autoimmune reactions are already emerging.
Legit vaccines take 5 years minimum to be rolled out to the public because of prudent safety precautions. This is radically new kind of vaccine, based on reprogramming patients' own DNA so their human cells start pumping out virus proteins --- something never done successfully on humans --- and they roll it out in months. I'll take Zinc & HCQ and pass on my chance to be a human guinea pig.

Already reading about not being able to fly without the vaccination. I won't miss that , at all. As my Grannie said; "If the Good Lord wanted me to get somewhere that fast, he would have started me out closer. "
