Walmart got into a tweet war with Sen. Josh Hawley on Wednesday when the company’s official Twitter account called the Missouri Republican a “sore loser” over the lawmaker’s pledge to object to President-elect Joseph R. Biden’s electoral college votes. The now-deleted tweet on Walmart’s account told Mr. Hawley: “Go ahead. Get your 2 hour debate. #soreloser.” Mr. Hawley fired back, “Thanks @Walmart for your insulting condescension. Now that you’ve insulted 75 million Americans, will you at least apologize for using slave labor?” He also tweeted, “Or maybe you’d like to apologize for the pathetic wages you pay your workers as you drive

First ...no it was intentional. WalMart didn't expect the push back. Second Good for Hawley for pointing out that these companies in fact are using Slave labor. Just because it's overseas in China doesn't make it OK.
Are they saying if the South had had plantations in the Bahamas then slavery would have been OK?

Go into any Walmart and try to find any American made products. I'll bet at least 80% of their products have MADE IN CHINA on them. Plus, remember when Walmart first started to make a national presence. It was America flags everywhere while they destroyed probably millions of small businesses and the jobs that went with them. Now, if they try and pull that off, it's all BS just like the demoslut party. I don't go into Walmart if I can help it. The last time I did, I came away feeling like I needed to take a shower.

I watched the Walmart CEO interviewed recently. He seemed to be a garden variety leftist.

Josh Hawley is a great man. I am just about to the point of putting Walmart on my "never shop there" list.

Wal Mart was a good idea in the founder's day. Now, when controlled by heirs, it is no more than a money mongering business without care or morals.
And incidentally: Trump Won.

I am grateful for one bold conservative Senator, and very, very disappointed that it is not my Louisiana Senator!!!
The reason that a member of Walmart's "social media team" didn't think twice about making that comment is that it is a prevalent opinion in their environment. They got caught up in group think and forgot that not everyone agrees with them, as is the case on their facebook page.
As for Walmart allowing that prevalent group think, they may find that this will have a lasting impact....as the pro athletic teams and Fox News learned. We don't easily unsee what we have seen these days.
I have been shopping at a locally owned grocery store and avoiding walmart largely because of safety. Now I have another reason.

Walmart has been on the Democratic Socialists of America hit list for decades (Ozero's Party). I think that is because their low prices made customers happy and less likely to be "community-organized." Now we have Repliers piling on with the fake info that the products they sell are all from China... very not true. For a minute, I considered boycotting Walmart; but then I read the accusation of Hawley had come from one of their "social media" persons... and Walmart apologized. They did a great job of feeding America during the worst of the "pandemic"... Thanks for that, Walmart!

I’ve been boycotting Walmart since 2002.
I tried to exchange an item I had purchased which didn’t work. All I wanted was a working version of the same item. I met all of the criteria listed at the returns desk but they refused to exchange my item and called me a liar, saying that I had broken the item. Over the preceding years I had spent thousand$ there but I never went back. I also told everyone I knew about my experience.

"The tweet published earlier was mistakenly posted by a member of our social media team. We deleted the post and have no intention of commenting on the subject of certifying the electoral college. We apologize to Senator Hawley for this error and any confusion about our position."
And, how has the social media team member been disciplined?

I hate walmart, but its the only game in town in Texarkana, so I'm stuck - wish Kroger would put a store here. All of us would prefer to shop there.

If the person who posted the tweet is still working for Walmart, then Walmart endorses the tweet.

What’s funny is that Walmart has been the the left’s crosshairs since OBumbler was president. Since then they’ve taken the side of the left calling the Senator a “sore loser” all because he dared to question Biden’s presidential theft. Now since they know it would cost them shoppers who are Trump supporters they come out with a fake apology. Pure BS and it just gives me another reason to keep avoiding China Mart like the Wu Flu plague.
