On Saturday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) stated that he believes Americans should receive $2,000 direct payments, and that if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) removes the pork from the spending package, “she’ll get overwhelming Republican support. She’ll certainly have my support, but just to add a $2,000 payment instead of a $600 payment to the pork that’s in the bill is just unacceptable.”Buck said, “I absolutely am in favor of giving the American people $2,000. I think it’s the right move. I think the president’s absolutely right, but that’s only part of what the president is suggesting.

I am wondering: can only the Ruling Party in the House of Reprehesibles start up a bill? Can't the Republican wing start a clean bill---only the payments to individuals and perhaps to small businesses that are hurting. Or is it simply that such a minority-supported bill would go absolutely nowhere? So what. At least make Gagool show her contempt for ordinary Americans when she shoots it down.

I'm less concerned with getting a stimulus check than I am cutting all of this rotted pork. Of course we could use the money, but with the mu;ti-billions going to so much that we should not be funding (both domestic and foreign), I am more interested seeing the rotted pork sliced out of the two bills.

The bill for that is zero and the economy will rocket upwards.

first of all, this bill should have been contained on one sheet of paper. the demcoms strategy is, always, to when an important piece of legislation comes up, add so much pork, the purpose of the bill is lost in the fine print. yes, republicans, too, are guilty of that maneuver and it should be eliminated from the legislative process. it is, unfortunately, the Speaker who decides what legislation will see the light of day. Newt Gingrich was, probably, the greatest Speaker of the House in modern times.

This country is going broke anyway so why not cut all the pork and raise the individual COVID-19 relief fund to $50K? Why not a million and remove all government entitlements permanently? LOL, wishful thinking.

Asking for a friend, how much of the pork foreign money is being "donating" back to the congress people or their families or foundations? Asking for a friend.
An honest law enforcement agency would track down every dime of the kickbacks to the elected people and take every one of them into custody and perp-walk them off to jail.

No argument w/ Congressman Buck. I'm sure that when the salt-brained hag heard $2,000 her immediate thought was, "Sure - we'll spend that!"

#9 As I understand it, the bills are written by 'lobbyists' who pay lawmakers to pass the bill into law. This is part of the Deep State. Trump should be able to find out who these 'lawmakers' are and force them out of office, have them arrested and jailed.

It's like the offended young woman when asked if she'd sleep with some fellow for $20 after first agreeing for a million dollars...we know what this deal is, we're just haggling over the price. We're all socialists now, loving that sniff of government cheese to which we're all entitled.

Introduce a Bill for only the $2000 stimulus checks. Why would anyone sign a 5000 plus page Bill without reading it ?

The arrogance of these congress creeps when pontificating about spending our taxpayer money. They exhibit both on the death democrat side and the phony republican side the attitude that it is their money and it is up to them who may or may not get some of it. This current corrupt scam is because of a BS pandemic that they and the Deep State bureaucrats foisted on us and have driven millions of America into poverty and unemployment.
Remember not a single member in congress, the executive branch, the legislative branch, and all the state, local governments has missed a single pay check. For them this totalitarian lock down causing a massive depression has not adversely impacted them financially in any way, Keep that in mind at all times when listening to any of them.
They continue to feast on the life blood of the taxpayers and are destroying our freedoms and way of life. Folks this cannot go on much longer. We are at the end of our rope.
Free America.

My wife told me the bill had a hidden provision that prevented Trump from using an essential executive order.

#5, it's your governor who locked you down, not the feds. He did it and can undo it. Here in Florida our governor opened up the state, and yes, there are certain steps we must follow, but I can go shopping and stop at a restaurant and dine. Kids can go to school if the county chooses to open them, which many have. Businesses are open for the most part, and people are going back to work. So place the blame it where it belongs. (But please don't move to Florida, as we have enough moving in from the Northeast and bringing their leftist ideas!)

Pork is the democrats' reason for existence. Remove the pork, the republicans get the credit, which is an intolerable situation because democrats show that they are unnecessary and wasteful.

#16. ZeroCare was 10,000 pages-plus and they gladly signed it without reading it. The country suffered for eight years but Pelosi, John Lewis and the infamous Obamas loved it because the "right" people got everything they needed for free and the working taxpayers just worked a little harder.
