Walmart announced on Thursday it will triple exports of goods from India to $10 billion each year by 2027, as a nationwide pivot to other trade partners gains strength amid the continuing U.S.-China trade war. U.S. goods imports from China fell by a stark 16.2 percent between 2018 and 2019, as the effects of Washington's aggressive stance towards Beijing takes effect. Currently, Walmart estimates Chinese suppliers make up 70-80 percent of its U.S. merchandise, according to the Alliance for American Manufacturing.
They have been importing OTC drugs from India for some time.
As a side note: Last two times I bought acetaminophen from Walgreens there is not a manufacture location to be found on the package or bottle.

Don't they mean "imports", not "exports"?

Exports FROM India, Imports TO the US. That is a bit confusing, It's unfortunate that the Chinese people are saddled with a communist dictator because they are capable, smart, industrious and could rival the US in every way given a free and wide open economy. They no longer have to steal our technology, they have built upon what they have stolen from us in the past and improved upon a lot of it. Good on Wally World for making a choice to distance themselves from China until they learn to play nice.

India matches and in some respects exceeds China in brazen corruption. Hunter has scope!

Was I dreaming or was there once a time (and not that long ago) that Walmart sold only products made in America?

Sam Walton started WalMart and made it great believing in capitalism and using Mad in America products everywhere he could find them, including helping American companies make their production more efficient on an individual basis in order to be able to compete against foreigners. after he mad WalMart great and the family go rich from all of his work and his death, they have no use for Americans except as suckers, and especially no use for Capitalism according to their CEO. some rich people turn socialist because they don't want "little people" to have anything, they want it all for themselves.

My wife and I make a real, concerted effort to avoid buying anything made in China. I search hard to find Made in USA items, willing to pay more without batting an eye. If the choice is Thailand, or the Phillipines, or some other country vs China, it is always NOT CHINA.
China is the enemy. Never give them your money.

Well, if we are sending jobs overseas I guess I would rather see them go to India than to Red China. If enough of those guys get real jobs maybe they will stop calling me to “lower my interest rates” or “ extend my auto warrantee.”

DVC (#10) and Christopher L (#11), I am with you.
I try to buy 'Made in USA', but if I cannot, then Made in (Anywhere BUT China)!
Unfortunately, once (if) 'Quid Pro Joe' gets his mitts on the Oval Office, we are Fornicated.
He and his crowd are in it to line THEIR OWN pockets, and the Hades with the rest of the USA.
