Breaking with President Trump’s drive to overturn his election loss, Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky on Tuesday congratulated President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. on his victory and began a campaign to keep fellow Republicans from joining a last-ditch effort to reverse the outcome when Congress tallies the results next month. (Snip)A short time later, on a private call with Senate Republicans, Mr. McConnell and his top deputies pleaded with their colleagues not to join members of the House in objecting to the election results on Jan. 6, when Congress meets to ratify the Electoral College’s decision, according to three people familiar with the remarks.

Mitch is waaay too comfortable being in the minority. He got his, now everybody shut up and sit down. Don't we know the elites in the establishment know better how to run things than Pres. Trump?
Just shut up all you rinos and nevertrumpers. I sure hope you all have to eat crow when this thing is over.

He congratulated him but he did not said anything about the overturn his election. Don’t click on the NYT. All the fake news that fit to print. Even the birds refuse to sheet on this rag.

Rush calls him the "Turtle." He's been a wishy washy, squishy type "leader" and I wouldn't trust him with my dog and certainly not my check book.
He was re-elected for his last term and doesn't give a d..n. Ryan and McConnell...two peas in a pod. The deep state is indeed deep.

Yes the NY Slimes is not to be trusted but the turtle does nothing to disprove the wimpy worst things we hear about him. Plus, #9 heard the statement, so NYT is not wrong.
Yes, I know, its depressing to see Mitch will go off into super wealthy retirement with Elaine after God knows HOW she and her family have greased the skids for CCP all these years and gained immense wealth. But
all these swamp critters will face what they did to America, to President Trump before the Real Judge one day. I would not want to be in their shoes.

Many Swamp Republicans prefer being in the minority. Now they think they can continue in that role by being the token, showplace "opposition" party to the ruling Democrat/Marxists, who will literally be unbeatable in any election if this travesty is allowed to stand. Trump has to stop this steal at all cost.

Right, #13. This is totally believable!! The only justification I might swallow would be if he had reason to believe he's 'saving' the upcoming Georgia runoff, although I don't see the logic of that!

I don't mind the civility between politicians. There is a 99.9999% chance that they'll have to work together in some capacity. I mind a lot more hearing about how mayors and governors from cheating states want terrible things to happen to those who believed in the Texas lawsuit to rout out corruption.

History will show this pandemic and subsequent election fraud was ultimately orchestrated by the CCP. This is America's "Tiananmen Square" moment. The Republican voters in GA are going to abandon the party for this electoral assassination and both GOP senators will lose. They will once again be left scratching their heads at what happened because they never got Trump and never will.

Mitch's true colors are showing brightly as he prepares to appease the cuttroats coming into power while he finishes out his very un-illustrious career as the Senate Minority Leader. Turtles can not shift into a higher gear because they don't have one.

Trump has the support he has BECAUSE of the "shut up, sit down, and take it" Republicans. Don't they have any patriot blood in them at all? What about the oath they took to uphold the Constitution? It seems to mean nothing to far too many people in DC.

With professional politicians, it is always about maintaining order, even when the process itself has not been orderly - has been flagrantly fraudulent.
Two things. We don’t know who told the NYT what McConnell said on the private phone call and we don’t know what he actually said. Second, you may not be able to access article but you get the drift.
