I’m a volunteer in the clinical trials for the Pfizer vaccine. I knew there was some risk in volunteering to take an unproven medicine. But I hoped that my participation might help me do well against the virus, and might also help me do good for humanity. It’s all worked out fine, until now. Understand that these studies are conducted with two distinct groups. One group gets the vaccine. The other group gets a placebo. The placebo is not medicine. It’s a simple saline shot that does nothing at all. The reason for these two groups is to establish a placebo-taking “control group” against which both the Correction*

Perhaps these "Experts would like to go on trial for crimes against humanity? Drug companies and anyone involved in the medical treatment of humans MUST follow the Hippocratic oath.
Im willing to bet we'll discover these are Deep Staters or their immediate kith and kin. The rest of us aren't human, to them. We're just disposable trash.
I insist we discover these so-called experts, make their identities public, and connect the dots to nationality, political affiliations and professional ties.

The author is wrong about this. He needs to read the study protocols which very clearly state that those receiving the placebo will be "unblinded" and will then receive the actual vaccine.

No. 2: You're mistaken. The test protocols say no such thing. Read the NYT article to which this article links, at https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/02/health/covid-vaccine-placebo-group.html
Pfizer has asked for exactly what you suggest -- to unblind the study so that the placebo-takers can be given the vaccine, but the FDA has the final decision, and they are considering following the recommendations of experts who would like to keep the placebo group in place in order to gather more data.

Heck. Back in the 1920s we did an experiment on syphilis in black people. They were never told whether they were immunized or not. Experts wanted data.
So tough noogies for you. It is none of your business whether you got vaccine or placebo. You are just a data point.
Human, but a data point.
Sorry.

Re #2. those who assert facts should post a link to the source. Frankly, I can’t believe that Beaton, a very bright guy, would have missed that.

When you get the placebo, your arm doesn’t hurt nor get sore...

According to someone from one of the other companies producing a vaccine, they think their vaccine is only going to be effective for three months. After that I suspect, the virus mutates and we'll need another vaccine to battle that virus.

Re #8, found a link to what I believe they are referring to. #8 apparently does not understand what the article says. Finding antibodies after three months is a good thing. Read the whole story. Ignore rumors.

So, is the "expert" calling for the placebo-takers to go to the end of the line named Mengele?

#4, you are slightly off base. There was/is no vaccine for syphilis. In the highly unethical, and very set of cases you refer to, treatment with antibiotics was withheld from some patients in a Mengele style "research study". IIRC, penicillin would cure it, but the patients were told it was untreatable, which had been true prior to the discovery of penicillin.
Hideous evil.

That should have said "highly unethical and very real..." in #12.
But, the original point is accurate....unethical things have been done.
Don't assume that all docs are ethical. Ezekiel Emmanuel is an excellent example of a hideous, entirely unethical man with a medical degree.

The Tuskegee Experiment was conducted with the best of intentions.
Blacks had higher rates of syphilis than Whites, and the researchers were trying to figure out why that was. (promiscuity was the reason.) The belief was that Blacks were somehow more susceptible to the disease.
And when penicillin came along, the researchers suffered from what fighter pilots call target hypnosis. The researchers continued to study the effects of advanced (tertiary) syphilis, and did not treat the disease.
Good intentions, road paved to hell, and all that.

#2 is absolutely right.
Although those who get the placebo are "not told". Those getting the vaccine ARE TOLD.
Therefore in this particular study one has the NEGATIVE inference that they got the placebo.

No. 15: No, that's absolutely false. That approach wouldn't work because everyone would know, "If they didn't tell you that you got the vaccine, then you got the placebo" and so the study would not in fact be a blind study because both the vaccine-takers and the placebo-takers would know which they were. I'm not sure where you got your information, but it's blatantly false.

My accountant is in the Pfizer study, had his second shot 3 weeks ago. THIS study is done so you don't get the vaccine twice. Absolute FACT, not a truly double-blind study.

I am still trying to wrap my head around the Pfizer exec who was working with Joe's cancer foundation that never gave out grants.
We are simply a social experiment with hopes of destroying the US economy.
